there have been several great encounters over the years, but here are some that really stand out to me:
we always stay at the Swan, and sometimes they have characters at Garden Grove. one time at lunch, there was barely anyone in the restaurant with us, so Goofy spent a good ten minutes with me! he made me dance with him (including a bow at the end), which my dad of course caught on tape!
one year at CP (i was 16 at the time), we were heading out after we finished breakfast. we always get the latest breakfast seating time possible, so there was barely anyone left. Pooh came over to me and took me by the arm and showed me around the restaurant. he wouldn't let me go, so my dad joked with him that they would pick me up from the restaurant later that day. Pooh waved them away- it was so cute!
when i was little, i had very long, thick hair, so my mom would always put it in a ponytail and then divide the hair into 3 braids so it wouldn't get tangled. all the characters played with it year in and year out (especially Chip, Dale, Tigger, and Goofy). watching home videos back you can tell that i really hated it- hilarious!!
back in 1998, we saw the Green Army Men at MGM. one of them came up to the video camera that my dad was holding and kept putting his face really close to it- great for watching home videos! and the best- my brother and i (ages 10 and 8 at the time) were sitting on a park bench with an Army Man, who was sitting quite still. on camera, you can hear my dad say "Megan, is he real?" i shrugged, so he told me to look a little closer. i put my face inches away from the Army Man's, and right at that time, he moved his head at me. the video is priceless! the look of shock on my face is awesome, and we always rewind it to watch again and again!
last, i LOVE it when i have great interactions with Stitch!!

he's obviously my fave, so i will stop to see him everytime, no matter how long the wait is! i own pretty much everything disney's made of him, be it pins or what-not. on our last day this past year, i saw Stitch at EPCOT. he of course gave me a hug and we posed for a pic, and then i took out a bag with a bunch of Stitch souvenirs, and i explained to him that he was my favorite character. he then gave me the biggest kiss and hug i've ever received from any character! and my mom got the cutest picture ever!!

(which i would post if i even had a clue how to...)
i'm definitely going to try some of these "conversation starters" this summer!!
