Ours hides a Sasquatch. My boys love going and looking for her. They get a kick out of the cashiers ringing the bell and yelling "Sassy!!".

My friend was telling me the Trader Joes she lived near in Oregon hid a duck, I'm guessing for the Oregon Ducks (sports). So that got me to thinking, what does your Trader Joe's hide?

Or maybe you didn't know they hid something? It's a kids game, they hide a little stuffed animal somewhere in the store. If the kids spot the creature they tell the cashier and get a treat, the cashiers usually make a bid deal out of it. :goodvibes

Anyways, just curious.....:rotfl:

Lol, I wish I had seen this post before I picked up the stuffed animal with a lei on it and brought it to the customer service stand. :flower3:
I thought a child dropped it (in the chips, lol) and brought it up there. I was so embarrased when they told me it was to hide for children, and thank you anyway, and by the way, would I like a lollipop for finding it? :goodvibes

For the life of me I can't remember what animal it was, I guess because I was laughing at myself, but I know it had a lei.

:)

Well, I never knew that and now I will be looking! :rotfl:

A chicken. My town (Marietta, GA) is kinda famous for the Big Chicken.

I didn't know they did this! I will be going to our "local" TJ's (2 hours from home) this week and will keep my eyes peeled. As the store is in Portland, ME, I will guess that I need to be on the lookout for a lobster... or maybe a moose!

Thanks Nature mom I thought I was going to have to go look for it to find out what 'our' store hides !

:lmao: Hi neighbor! :wave2: The funny thing is, the last time DD found it, it looked nothing like what someone would think would be a representative of the Big Chicken. More like an Eddie's Trick Shop chicken. ;)

:lmao: That actually sounds cute!

:scratchin Even your description of the lei sounds familiar. Like I might have seen an animal around somewhere, and vaguely noted it as out of place.

OK, is there a list somewhere? How the heck do all you people know about this?

What time are they open till - I want a lollipop.:3dglasses

I have no idea what ours (in Maryland) hides and didn't know they did this. Need to go to TJs and figure it out!

Why the octopus in Oregon? I'm from Oregon and can't figure that one out.

Trader Joe's is opening in my town in early Sept. I will have to remember this and keep an eye for the "hidden" something.

I'd look for a crab if I were you :). I wish they give grown ups chocolate wine or beer - way better than a lollipop :thumbsup2.

It's a monkey. Not Curious George, it looks like a spider monkey. I don't have kids but I saw a couple of kids freak out when they found the monkey the other day.

I had no clue! Interesting. I wonder what ours hides. I thought it would be a bear of some sort (i.e. Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs) but seeing above it was Curious George in one suburb. Hmmm...now that I think of it, it could be a Bulldog since that is the mascot of the school in the town it is in.

Do they just tell the cashier where they found it or do they bring it up to the cashier since I assume they hide it in different locations.

And how DID you find out about this? Then again...everything I ever needed to know, I found out about on the DIS. LOL!

As I read this post I was wondering if my Trader Joes did the same thing as yours, and then I read where you are from. We must frequent the same one! My daughter found a bear yesterday and she got her sucker. She tried to hide the bear behind the flowers and we made her move it so another child could find it. Small world!
