This last week, we boarded our bird at a local university veternary department. They brought him into a room that he had to share with two snakes...which was borderd by a room with two bulls. We suspected that he would come home either hissing or mooing.
So when we returned home, my house had many more cobwebs than when we left, and I decided that we might have been invaded by creatures while we were gone. Well, then mouse noises started.
Of course, my husband is still gone, and a mouse in the house is nothing I can handle on my own. I wanted to pack and leave. The thought of seeing the little creatures just makes me come unglued. I can't even look at hamsters in the pet store.
I was washing dishes yesterday when I heard the sound again. This time, the squeek sounded like the mouse was in pain.
I turned around to look for him when I noticed it was the BIRD, making MOUSE NOISES.
I guess they were feeding the snakes a healthy diet of mice at the university.... So I just want to be the first to thank the professionals at Mississippi State University for teaching my bird to scare the bejesus out of me.
What does your bird say?

Play some Springsteen 24 hours a day or something, maybe he'll pick up something else.
Then he proceeded to imitate the phone and doorbell and screech REALLY loud, so we had to stop the conversation, he was drowning us out.
