What does the Easter bunny bring at your house

You and I live in the city. Almost 30 years ago I worked as a cashier at Woolco. Wednesday and Thursday before Good Friday was always almost like working Christmas Eve with the toys and clothes coming through the check out. I was surprised at it due to the fact that my siblings and I only ever got a chocolate bunny and maybe a small stuffed animal ourselves.
So yes it was a "thing" in Winnipeg years ago.

For those who are not church goers Christmas and Easter are more winter/spring festivals. Easter celebrates new life, a new beginning, a celebration even without the religious aspects.

Good Friday is a sombre day and many church goers do go to a church service that is very sombre.

Thanks for the proof that it certainly was a 'thing' even thirty years ago.

I agree. I was raised with Easter candy and eggs. No toys or non edible gifts, etc.

Well, I DID put "etc." when discussing Easter candy.

But I haven't liked marshmallow since I was a young adult. So no smores, no peeps, no roasting them on a stick over the charcoal grill, no miniature ones in hot chocolate, no toasted coconut ones at Passover time, etc.

Speaking of Passover, 2016 is one of those years where it doesn't fall close to Easter, I wonder when ABC will show The Ten Commandments, which many people consider an "Easter Movie."

No toys for us. If it doesn't fit into a basket, they don't get it. $15-$20 max per kid. x3

We used to do an egg hunt until the kids asked who hid the eggs since bunnies don't lay eggs....

We always boil and color lots of eggs (3 dozen). The easter bunny hides them around the house. We will still do this even with teenagers.
Before kids, my dh and I did it for each other and will do it again when the kids are grown. Just isn't Easter to me without them.
(We aren't religious, so we celebrate with the bunny, gifts, candy and eggs)
