Look – not to be overly snarky, but why complain about them taping over the tap to pay? Why not just ask them? You say you’re in there a couple times a week if you genuinely want to know why it was taped over ask somebody a customer service? Ask a manager? Surely you realize no one here has the answer most likely.
I might just ask. I was in and out today pretty quick and noticed it. I never used tap and pay, but have used Walmart pay before. Next time I am in there, I will inquire.
Not reading the terms of a company you shop at isn't getting ripped off. Not understanding basic e-commerce pricing versus in-store pricing isn't getting ripped off. It's just being ignorant of today's market...add it to the list I guess.
If Walmart wants to sell an ugly sweater online for $7 and in-store for $13 it can make sense in many cases...from both a shipping or accounting cost structure. But honestly I don't think you would truly grasp the reasons companies do this so I'll let someone else try and teach hig school economics.
