What does the Easter bunny bring at your house

I grew up getting toys and books for Easter (all fit in a basket) and did the same for my kids----we all have December birthdays so it is nice to get (and be able to give) at some other time of year. And my kids always got one item from us and one from Santa (plus stockings) at Christmas--based on DIS threads I think we bought fewer toys between Christmas and Easter combined than many DISsers buy for just Christmas.

There is no right or wrong in this sort of thing--just different families with different traditions

I'm like you..one Santa present and one from me for my daughter plus a stocking. I had the same growing up. I have a January birthday so I get wanting gifts spaced out lol

I totally get that it's different strokes for different folks. It just seems odd to me to use this holiday to do it.

For Easter, our kids usually get a swimsuit along w/ some Easter candy & other spring-y/summer-y type stuff (sunglasses, seeds for planting flowers, water/outside toys, flipflops, etc.)... it varies year to year. I used to always include a beach towel, but we have tons of beach towels now! LOL! Oh, & they each get a new book too - I always get them at least one book for every holiday.

When I was a kid, we always had lots of candy, and our baskets were lined with new spring clothes instead of that plastic grass my mom hated! We also had a popcorn bunny every year.

DS has always had some candy, but some other things too. When he was little it would be "spring" toys (balls, frisbees, etc.) - new markers or other art supplies as he got older, and most years a book or movie.

This year, I'm eagerly reading ideas, as some of the candies that are real traditions here are off limits due to braces. I have to come up with some special sweets he can actually have... Hmmm, maybe gift certificates for ice cream places??

Baby's first Easter here, so he won't be getting candy So far, he's getting a little summer romper, an O-ball football, a Darth Vader Snackeez cup, Robots DVD, Story of Easter board book, and a bunny Pez dispenser (Daddy collects Pez and we want to give DS a few special ones of his own). We talked about "in the future" and we still don't want to do a lot of candy, but no big gifts either. Books, craft supplies, outdoor activities, etc. We hope

Sounds like what I do is pretty similar to a lot of people then. I do normally buy more outside spring, type stuff for the bunny to bring but this year he really wants the dinosaur. I don't want to buy "just because" and his birthday isn't until October so I decided to do that instead. I am spending more than usual but he has less items...he is just getting the dinosaur, 2 books, and candy where normally it may be a ball, books, bubbles, pjs, etc.

We do talk about the religious aspect also and go to church but the bunny still brings fun stuff

Easter has never been a gift-giving occasion in our house. We generally have a "communal" basket of chocolate and seasonal treats; maybe a novelty item or two. We just don't focus on that side of it. My DS did really enjoy colouring eggs when he was little though. We never hid them; they were specifically for "Easter Egg Salad" served with the left-over ham a few days after our Easter feast.

Chocolate, candy, book or DVD, smaller toy. I often get them an Easter stuffed animal usually a Beanie Boo. I will probably get my 9 year old a thing of Shopkins as she is into them but no clue for my 12 year old.

My kids each get a bunny but my sons is about a $20 dairy free bunny.

They get candy-jelly beans, eggs with something kind of candy, pea, they each got a book from 5 below-one got coloring, one got the grossest things and the other got something, one got a bubble wand, one got a mixel, one got a cheap exercise ball. I buy as much as I can from 5 below.

I got my son a Yankee bat key chain, I flipped it over and it's a bottle opener. Nice huh, but we do buy Averys or Foxon Farms soda that are both twistable caps but he can use that.

I was going to get them snorkel stuff but my sister is getting it. We are going to see her in FL a few weeks after Easter.

Cotton candy...yes it's cavity city on Easter!

we will be on a cruise so they will each have a small basket when we get home. I am not going to do candy this year since they did not eat it last year. I am going to do a sports basket for each of them I am doing baseball/softball stuff for my two older kids and a soccer basket for my youngest

My kids always got a basket with candy And toys. As they got older it included video games and money. Now they are in high school. So far. I've picked up some candy, Cologne,earbuds,water bottles and one got a case for his cards against humanity. I'll prob throw in cash and gift cards.

A very small amount of candy for both. For my daughter a bluray, small disney doll, hairbows, and usually some crayola art stuff. For my son I put in a 3ds game or itunes gift card and a few books he would like.

When I was a kid we got Easter baskets full of candy. As adults with no kids it's just a 3-day weekend.

I never realised until I joined the Disboards how much 'stuff' the Easter bunny brings some people! And when people say 'candy' do they just mean chocolate or do they mean jelly beans, gummy bears, etc? In our house it was usually just chocolate eggs and bunnies. A couple of years we got Beanie Kids, but they were always the Easter-themed ones. A few years ago, as young adults, we got a Lindt bunny with an Easter-themed Pandora charm instead of the bell (although I got my Mum one in return).

I've always made my kids a basket of stuff they like. When they were younger it was candy and little toys. Now at 20 and 17, they still get candy, snacks, and something fun like a book, video, video game, or gift card.

I do a basket each year. This year is BB8 Kite, chalk paint, Disney Tsum Tsum sticker book, Inside Out dvd, Squirt pool toy, chocolate Olaf and small stuffed bunny. I will also do eggs in the yard with MM's, jelly beans and malted balls (which I will help eat).
I go a little overboard because my Mom loved Easter and would really make it special for me and I want to do that for my daughter.

The Easter Bunny no longer visits us since we're now all adults. We celebrate the Lord's Resurrection at church , then have a lovely Easter dinner. I make a coconut cake or strawberry shortcake or dark chocolate cheesecake to satisfy our sweet tooths.
