My Dh and I will be having at least one treatment at the spa since he just booked the Romantic Escape At Sea for us (yeah!!!) and I'm just wondering what we should wear to the spa?
Thanks,

I wore a tshirt and shorts being I had to get undressed for the massage it really didn't matter what I wore.....

May I suggest ...

... just wearing bodypaint, then you save time by not having to get dressed and undressed :p

I either wear a swimsuit and cover-up or regular clothes (t-shirt with jeans or shorts). The swimsuit is easiest to take off, but not everyone is comfortable with stripping all the way down...in that case, regular clothes are best. But with the seaweed wrap, you have to take everything off anyway and change into those lovely paper panties.

wear whatever you want (shorts/shirt, bathing suit), you either change into a robe or towel once you get there

yup...that's why i only get shiatsu massages....you get to wear clothes.....
i wonder if they have shiatsu massages at the spa....no nakedness and no oil....perfect....

Seriously...

Wear something loose and comfy. A sundress, a cotton-T and shorts.

If you are getting a massage, you can wear your bathing suit or undie bottoms if you are uncomfortable about being "nakey".

If you get a soothing and pampering treatment, it's so nice to slink into something soft and loose and then go have a nice nap.

Thanks everyone... I never thought about wanting to wear something loose and comfy afterwards - that's a good point...

Jon - if I took your advice, the massage therapist would rub all the body paint off and how would I get back to my room :smooth:

Can you wear a one piece swimsuit when getting a massage and just slip the straps off your shoulders?

Never had a massage and would feel funny getting naked.

I felt the same way when I had my first massage...so I planned on wearing my one piece...when I arrived I mentioned to the spa tech that it was my first massage and that I was a bit nervous. She was WONDERFUL!! She put me at ease and said that she'd advise not wearing the suit, so I'd get the full benefit of the masage. Before she moved the sheet (yes, you're covered pretty much all of the time, except for the area that is being worked on), she'd warn me...when I turned over, she was great about holding the sheet up really high (she couldn't see me and I had plenty of time to turn over and get comfy again). The bottom line is that she was right...I wouldn't have gotten the full benefit of the treatment had I been wearing my swimsuit...and by the time I left, I was so relaxed that I slithered out. :) Hope this helps!!

yes, really don't worry about the lack of clothing thing...
i was joking about the naked part...
the true reason i only get shiatsu is i'm terribly allergic to the oils used in massages and end up seriously ill for about 24 hours afterwards....i learned the hard way (and that was just with reflexology and a facial......i shudder to think what my reaction would have been had i had a full body massage)...
so i stick with massages that don't use any oils of any kind...
shiatsu is one of them.....the side benefit is being able to wear loose fitting clothes during the massage..
but as i said, i don't know if they do those sorts of massages in the ship's spa....i didn't go to the spa at all during our cruise....

Excuse me for bringing logic to a silly thought...

... but, back to the bodypaint thing.

Wouldn't all the "important" parts still be covered?

(Unless you are getting a different kind of massage than the one I got.)

Jon - I have to admit it, you got me... BUT when I'm lying on my front and having my back massaged, won't the body paint rub off of those all important covered up parts? LOL!!
