What do you think of Katie Couric?

I used to like her. I always thought she seemed so down to earth, and nice. But then, I would hear not so nice stories about her. I then becanse someone who had no opinion of her. I didn't like her, but I did not NOT like her.

I think I may be leaning towards not liking her after watching the show yesterday. Two women were on, talking about school bullies, and what girls can do to deal with not being in the "in" crowd. (one of the women wrote a book about it). So you have Matt sitting there talking about how brutal school was for him, he was not popular, and was picked on alot. Then the camera pans to Katie, and I am expecting to hear a similar story about how school was terrible for her too, and all she says is her biggest fear is how her daughter fits in with her peers, and it is so hard to watch them grow up.

So, maybe my tortured days of school hit me, but I shook my head and figured Katie must of been one of the "in" crowd. She could of at least made it seem like she was dorky and unpopular like Matt did ( I don't believe for a minute that he was unpopular, but it did make me feel btter to know how far he has come if he truly was picked on). But the fact that she could not add to his story, and just went on to talk about how her daughter does, with a smile on her face, made me think that is so what a popular girl would do. Refuse to admit they were anything less than popular.

I really enjoy her & the chemistry that the morning group has. I wouldn't pay attention to the tabloids at all.

I dont like her either. Even though she seems so perky I have the feeling she could turn on someone in an instant and become devil woman!

I never watch Today. Give me Diane Sawyer, Charlie Gibson, Robin Roberts, and Tony Perkins anyday. They all seem to genuinely like each other and they all work so well together. Nothing seems forced at all.

I was just thinking about starting a thread about her to ask if anyone liked her. EVERYONE that I know just can't stand her. I have not found one person (from CA to VA with states in between) that likes her.

I don't hate her because I don't think I've watched her show more than 2-3 time. She doesn't impress me, but maybe I'm seeing her past her prime.

I read one thing about her that I liked in Reader's Digest. Even though she has a ton of money, she doesn't spend it on ridiculous things. She said that she thought buying a $6000 Hermes bag was sick. I agree. It was also pretty brave of her to get a colonoscopy on the show, with the whole world watching. However, plastic surgery and botox have ruined her face and made her difficult to watch.

Today is still the best morning show out there. They always get the best interviews, first, and they appeal to a younger crowd. The other morning shows are mainly aimed at senior citizens.

I like her.... she is cute and perky and has overcome tragedy in her life with the premature death of her husband. Just because she may have enjoyed school, and no doubt, was popular (cute, nice personality), doesn't mean we shouldn't like her because she wouldn't lie about it. I admire her for that.

I felt terrible when her husband died. Then she turned around and got all "New York" on me with her $800 shoes and designer clothes. I liked her earlier in the career when she seemed more "down to earth".

She's not believable anymore.
