I will be flying soon with dh,ds15,dd12. I haven't flown in ages and this is the first time with the kids.

What do you pack in your carry on???

Do you put toiletries in your carry on or in your stored luggage?

Thanks for the help

Kim

For our next trip in Dec - Everything! We are packing super light, and if the airline won't allow it on, we will do without it or buy it there.

:)

This will probably include clothes, whatever toiletries are allowed, and my digital camera, as well as our books, and passes. :)

Everything

I never check luggage

WHen I fly back and forth between home and school my carry ons (I always need 2) have my laptop and its charger, my cell and its charger, anything that would go in my purse, schoolbooks and a book to read on the plane, dvds, digital camera, any other breakable or electronic things, my stuffed DePauw tiger that is rarely checked, and my little pillow i take everywhere I need to sleep and that is NEVER checked

i make sure i pack a change of clothes and a swimsuit. just in case our suitcases are lost! everyone carries their own in their carryon. i also take makeup& toothbrushes. the older kids, 15,18 take whatever they want to occupy themselves. for the4 year old i'm taking things to color and some snacks.

Just make sure there are no jack knives, manicure scissors, nail files, or such things in there. They also are skeptical of liquids like mouth wash etc. They will check it, and if it is clear, they wont allow it.

Vodka?:p

LOL! Not sure Monkeyboy, but I think it has something to do with explosives! Just make sure your mouthwash looks and smells like mouthwash!

All my pins of course! Plus my digital camera, tickets, passporter, magazines, that kind of stuff. My daughter uses her backpack and puts in magazines, cd player/cd's, and snacks. Then I carry my purse (usually bigger than normal so I can stash any extra stuff that I acquire in it.) Then if there is anyroom left I try to put a complete change of clothes in each one of our carry-ons just in case the airline loses our bags we check. We usually go for 10-12 days so we don't travel very light. But we manage just fine and have never had a problem. I will tell you all my luggage has wheels....including my carry on pieces.

In our carry on a few toiletries(deodorant, tooth brush) and a change of clothes, just in case the checked luggage does not make it. That way you will already have 2 sets of clothes and you could buy a few more outfits and just do laundry as needed.

Everything...we don't check luggage. We usually have plenty for a week in one little carryon. I also bring a camera bag and DH carries a bag for toillotries (sp).. I used to overpack years ago, but now I just throw on a wash, which will get me through another week if needed!

I usually check our luggage, so my carry-on includes...
water, peanut butter crackers, ibu, any prescription meds, change of underwear, deod/toothbrush/paste, camera/film/camcorder, book, passporter, money, passes.

Each person in our group carries their own. For instance..dh usually carries the camera stuff as his carry-on. Dd carries her own stuff, which usually mirrors mine for the most part.

Anything that I don't want to or can't replace goes in the carry-on.

Camera, CD's, portable CD player, magazines/books, travel guides, swimsuit, goggles, change of clothes, 1 pair of pajamas, retainers (yeah I used to be a brace face), homework (teachers like to ruin our vacations), address book, pens, pencils, cell phone and charger, batteries (for cameras and cd player), stamps, film (don't ever check film), wallet, and anything else I may decide to bring with me.
I usually also throw a light jacket in there (always need it here in NH) and a bottle of sunscreen
Just remember to put anything valuable/breakable in the carry on. Also remember to put your prescriptions and keys in there too.

I know people think this is weird, but I like to pack sealed McDonald's Happy Meal Toys to give away to kids that are bored on the plane! We take 'germ gel' and snacks, coupons for places in the airport (if I can find them), and the kids pack games and drinks. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Now that a lot of flights have stopped serving meals or are charging for it, I also bring a bunch of snacks. Once I had some krispy kremes and I was the envy of my section.

Has anyone brought liquor with them on their trip. Do you pack in your luggage or in your carryon? If in your carryon can you bring clear liquor (Vodka)? I hate to have it break open and smell up our luggage.

Also the question was asked, would tap shoes be allowed in the carryon garment bags. our garment bags are made of fabric and can be folded in half. (We joked that they could be used as weapons).

On the way to vacation, I pack toiletries, camera, phone chargers, favorite pillow, another set of underwear, another outfit to wear, a bathing suit, medications.

A book or two, headphones, a cd players and cd's, my meds and a long sleeve shirt (in case I get cold on the plane).
