What is not included in the cost of the cruise? Tips, drinks, excursions I am aware of but are there any other "extras" I am not aware of?

Is it true you have to pay for Palo? I thought all food was included on cruises?

You will pay a 10.00 fee for Palo. It covers the tip there, although many people tip more as they feel the food and service is worth it. You pay for pictures, any shipboard suveniers, and if you have a baby, there is pay per hour sitting (Flounders I think). Also any time on the Internet and in the video arcade. Tips for room service, and if you order sodas at any bar or from room service, there is a charge. Sodas are now free at the drink area on deck 9 (I hope that's the right deck). If you choose any spa services, they will cost you as well as some of the exercize classes (Pialtes and aerobics).

I may have missed some, there are plenty of experts here who can add or correct me.

The $10 fee is not near enough to cover the tip for your server at Palo...please tip extra. The $10 fee is more of a service charge!

I am going to have to disagree about tipping extra unless you absolutely feel they went above and beyond. Disney says this is a gratuity. You are going to have to assume they are paid accordingly. They may not be making half minimum wage like here inland. It would be my guess that they have other positions on the ship during day times as well. But, I don't work there, so I don't know. Disney is fair and generous in their other tipping guidelines, so I doubt these servers are getting cheated. Don't forget you are also tipping them on any wine and drinks you order. On land, you do not add in the cost of a bottle of wine when figuring your 20% or so (though, you should still tip more if you ordered wine). 15% on a $200 bottle of wine is not customary here, and it is automatically added on the cruise. In other words, tip more if you want, but I would not worry about these server getting shorthanded.

That fee is $10/per person. So for a party of two, you are tipping $20. If your "bill" were to be $100 for this meal, then you are indeed tipping 20%.

There have been many many other threads of late about this subject and some people have stated they left an additional $30 or $40 and even $50. For some people, that is more than their budget can afford and may scare them away from a great dinner at Palo's.

Let's put it this way -- you are not required to tip extra beyond the $10/pp. But if your server made you feel especially happy and special, then another $10 or $15 wouldn't hurt.

Of course, there is bingo, shore excursions, souvenirs, drinks at the bars/lounges and tips for room service are not included. (Room service food is free. We usually tip $2 - $3 depending on what we ordered.) And any pictures you buy in Shutters that were taken by the photographers on the ship and CC.

Tips for the bagage handlers at the port (oh yea, they are called porters).

There's a wine tasting class that carries a fee.

Possibility of tips for the musicians in the clubs (I know that dueling pianos folks accepted tips - don't know about those in Sessions or the Promenade Lounge accept tips.

Have heard that the coffees in there have a cost.

Other things with an additional cost: smothies, snacks (junk food - as opposed to the desserts;) ) in Preludes by the theater.
