What do you eat during lent?

I make the same thing but sometimes I add a box of thawed chopped spinach also for more bulk. Also if you ever find you don't have noodles but eggplant..slice the eggplant longways and it will serve as noodles.

Sometimes to be bad we use alfredo sauce instead of tomato sauce in case you want a differnt version.

Thanks for the tips! I will have to try it with alfredo sauce next time--the vegetables cancel out the calories!

If I ever get perfect on like, the 10 commandments, I might worry about it then. I figure He's more worried about the big stuff.

I do not like fish so my friday options are always limited. I do slip occassionally and eat meat but I always go without on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday (I figure he really only pays attention then right :lmao: )

Some of my go to meals are
Mac and cheese
baked ziti
tomato soup and grilled cheese
eggplant parmigiana
pizza
pancakes
potato soup

We do not observe Lent (well, sometimes we give something up, but really it's more for the fun of it or the challenge), but I think if we did, on Friday's we'd be eating a lot of pasta (with tomatoes, olive oil, and garlic), salad (with eggs, and maybe tuna), baked potatoes and soups, veggie pizza, breakfast for dinner, etc.

How about large baked potatoes with all the fixings....cheese, sour cream, butter, chives, chopped onions, olives....and a salad.

I make pasta with a jarred alfredo sauce and add in some steamed broccoli and serve with garlic bread.

We are not Catholic so we eat whatever but these are some ideas I thought of.

Also any kind of beans and rice as long as you dont add meat for flavor...red beans and rice are big here, also white beans and rice, black beans and rice, pinto beans, etc.

We have a deli here (McAlisters) that serves veggie chili in a bread bowl that is really good. Pizza Hut has the special now, any pizza any size for $10 and they make a good veggie pizza.

My family loves when I make Broccoli Rapini (its ltalian broccoli I think) over linguine!!!
