What Do You Do With a Nine Pound Lemon?? LINK TO NEW TR!

So sad to see another Nikki and Tom TR end, but lucky for us all you've got another one just around the corner!!! :goodvibes Love the pics from this last update!

Awwwww...sad this one is over, but I am so excited for you to have another trip planned really soon!

Day 2 - September 30, 2011

Now not only am I wide awake, I realize that my heart is racing. I was clearly doing no physical activities so there was no reason for my heat to be beating that fast. And every time I closed my eyes, I kept replaying moments from the day in my head. Like, you know how when you play tetris or bejeweled so much that when you go to sleep at night, you are still playing in your mind? Well it was like I was still in World Showcase in my mind, which you would think would make me happy, but I just wanted so badly to fall asleep!

By 2:30am, I was so frustrated, scared, and exhausted that I just lost it and started sobbing! I was really trying not to wake up Tom but he did wake up and was, of course, really concerned as to what possibly could have caused me to be sobbing at 2:30 in the morning! After I explained to him, through the sobs, what was going on, he was REALLY worried about me and told me I shouldn't do the 5K. But that upset me even more because I had had it planned for so long, there was no way I wasn't going to do it!!

As soon as I started reading what you were going through with the racing heartbeat and replaying the days events, I was like "panic attack!!" I went through that on a trip to Spain- it is a terrible feeling! Very confusing and scary!

I am really enjoying reading your TR though! :-)

Well I hope you get to ride more rides this time around. I am sure you guys will have a great time. Love the fountain in Epcot too. I could watch it forever. My husband felt the same way about his crocs. The rubbed against his feet and gave him huge blisters. He never wore them again.

Can't wait to hear about your next trip and hope you are enjoying your time off from school. I know I am.

Yeah I wasn't too disappointed about the lack of rides. I didn't even realize it until I thought to count once we got home. Thanks for reading!!

I enjoyed reading this TR. It is always sad to see them come to an end but at least you have your next trip to look forward to. I can't wait to read your PTR and TR to that.

Yes!! I can't wait to start sharing my plans for the new trip...maybe tonight!

You guys looked like you had so much fun on your last day! I miss the F&W fest soooo much! :sad2:

F&W is the BEST, isn't it?! This was only our second time and we just love it! I mean, World Showcase is normally awesome, but throw in MORE food and drinks...can't beat it!

Looks like it was a wonderful trip!

Thank you for sharing it with us!

Thanks for reading Christy!!

I love that monorail reflection picture!
Bummer it's over, but it won't belong and you'll be back again! That was a fun trip. My Aug. trip had few rides too. We just didn't have enough time, but it was still fun.

We were experimenting with the camera when I took that shot. I actually just bought a new lens. I've got to bust open that Nikon D3000 for dummies book again because I haven't used the camera in a while and forgot the little I learned.

Ah, the ending of the trip. Always such a sad moment.

I like mixing it up with trips. Not getting on tons of attractions is kind of nice. I think F&W is a great time to go when you don't want to accomplish much other than eating and drinking. Or drinking and drinking....and drinking....;)

Tell Tom I feel the exact same way about Crocs flip flops. Thanks for the visible demonstration! :rotfl:

Yeah I'm definitely not too upset about missing lots of rides. This was NOT the trip meant for rides...so much other stuff going on!

I'm sad to see yet another TR ending, but I'm glad you had a fun time on your incredibly busy trip. And you are so lucky that the next trip is just around the corner!

Thanks for reading Mel!!

The end is always easier when there is another trip in the works!! :cool1: So now I know what I need to get at DTD when I get there, Minnie ears!

Absolutely! You have to keep me posted on the status of your ears!

Great TR! Thanks for sharing the 40th with us! Can't wait for your next trip (probably not as much as you though :lmao:).

So happy have gone to the 40th and loved being able to share it with you!!

Such a great trip report!:thumbsup2 I'm sorry it had to come to an end, but yes, just another month before your next trip, how exciting!

You have convinced me to try F&W in 2012. We're looking at mid-late Oct hoping the crowds will be minimal, but we still want to see what the country of "Cheese" has to offer!

You've also inspired me to get my butt into gear and finish my TR and DR before our next trip in just over a month! Ha. I'm a complete slacker this year.:sad2:

I can't believe it's only a month now until the next trip! That's so awesome that you are going for the next Food and Wine festival!! So glad I could twist your arm and I can't wait to hear all about it? When is your next trip exactly?

I enjoyed following along on your trip! Don't you hate it when it's just suddenly over? It always hangs over your head but also tends to come out of nowhere. I bet you're super excited for your next trip!!! :woohoo:

Thanks for reading! I am definitely excited for the next trip!

Hi Nikki,

Really enjoyed reading about your trip - sad it's come to an end but looking forward to hearing about your next vacation.. not long to go now! :goodvibes

Hope you and Tom have had a great Christmas :santa:

Emma princess: x

Thanks Emma! Hope you guys had a nice Christmas too! Thanks for the card!! Happy New Year to you and Steve!

So sad it's the end of your TR, but at least we'll have another one to read in a few months! :thumbsup2 Your trip sounds like it was a lot of fun, VERY busy! Even though you didn't get in a lot of rides, you still did a lot, and made memories with your family! :cool1: I don't think Disney trips are really about the rides anymore, they're about spending time with your loved ones (ok, I'm making myself want to puke a little, so I'm going to be quiet now! :rotfl:)

Are you going again this Fall? Did you see the new Tower of Terror race weekend? There is going to be a 5k, I am really hoping we go again that week so I can do that race! If it's in DHS, I will be SO happy! I really regret not doing the 5k last time, so I'd love to do it this year!

You are so right. That's what a lot of people don't get. The rides are just a bonus, not at all what Disney is all about! I did see the new race AND that they moved the Wine and Dine weekend to the final weekend of the festival. Are you going?! That would be cool to run through DHS!

So sad to see another Nikki and Tom TR end, but lucky for us all you've got another one just around the corner!!! :goodvibes Love the pics from this last update!

Thanks for reading!! Yes, new trip and TR coming SOON!

Awwwww...sad this one is over, but I am so excited for you to have another trip planned really soon!

Thanks!!!

I am really enjoying reading your TR though! :-)

Oh, I'm soooo glad you can relate! I mean, not glad that anyone has to go through that but, you're right...it's very scary because you just don't know what's going on! Thanks for reading!

New Trip!!!

I decided since we're only a month away, I'll just PTR my new trip right here on this TR.

So first thing's first...where are we staying??

Wilderness Lodge!

I've stayed there with my family many times, since it opened in 1994 ~ the year I met Alex Trebek in the WL lobby! I believe I posted that picture in the introduction of my previous PTR. We stayed there a few times since with my family and it's since been my favorite resort.

Tom stayed there once on our 10-day split stay trip in 2007. That was the trip we got engaged and I have such great memories of my sister sending champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to our room, something you can't do at a mod!

We got a GREAT deal at this resort with the AP discount (40% off!!). Such a shame that the only view available with this discount was the courtyard view ~ insert sarcasm font!! We usually always cheap out on the view so since we were splurging for a deluxe, I would've gotten standard or woods, if it was available. Since it wasn't....oh well!! I remember staying courtyard view once or twice when I was younger and LOVED it! Can't wait to see that view again!

Up Next: Finally ~ Just Tom and me again......or not? ;)

This trip will still have to be fairly short, as I am taking personal days from work. Being a teacher, we don't get "vacation days" so I have to use my personal days wisely. Luckily, on this past trip, we had off for a Jewish holiday, so no personal days were needed. This time, we are again staying 4 nights BUT I am going to take 3 personal days and leaving Wednesday morning instead of Wednesday after school. So this will be a 5-day/4-night trip! :cheer2:

Originally when I booked the flight, we were first flight out at 6:30am, set to land at MCO around 9am! I recently went on to check the flight in case anything was changed before I called to set up ME and not only did the flight numbers change but the times did as well. We are still the first flight out, but now it's 7:30am, set to land at 10:30am. Precious time!! Not thrilled about that!

So I'm hoping we'll be at the WL and checked in by noon. Regardless of if our room is ready or not, we are dropping our bags and heading straight to Epcot!! Now the original plan was to maybe hit up MK for a few hours, go back and rest and not be at Epcot until dinner but we happily changed our plans when we found out my coworker and DIS friend Stephanie will be taking a VERY short trip that just happens to coincide with mine! :cheer2: We haven't met yet but I know we're going to have a blast!

So I will most likely text her when we land and again when we are on our way to Epcot to see where she is and what her current alcohol consumption level is! Just kidding! We will partake in a drink or two though, for sure! Tom and I had reservations for La Hacienda at 7:45 and I was very easily able to change that to a party of 3. I'm so looking forward to hanging with Stephanie in World Showcase and eating at this new restaurant. Hoping for an Illuminations viewing!

And that will be Day One!

Thanks for sharing your trip again! Loved your trip around world showcase on your last day! Seems very relaxing! I don't think I could have handled that many drinks! haha

Your next trip is almost here! Glad you get to meet up with a Diser/coworker!

BTW, I just looked through my files and realized I booked this new trip on October 5.....just three days after we got home from the last trip!! That's the way to do it, I guess! I didn't have time at all to get depressed. I anticipate doing something very similar when we get back from our Feb. trip. :thumbsup2

Lol. That's what I did too. We booked a mini trip/cruise for July and a trip for next September. Sometimes I think I am just plain crazy. Ha ha! What is life without a Disney trip to plan?

Yay!!! I do plan on partaking in a drink or two, but I might hold off till you guys get there :drinking1 I am SO EXCITED! :dance3:

Yes, our last World Showcase day is always the best! We did have lots of drink but it was over hours and hours and we were eating a lot too!

Yay!!!!!!!! It's going to be so much fun!

Day 1 ~ Arrival, Epcot, meet up with Stephanie, dinner at La Hacienda, Illuminations.

Day 2 ~ February 2, 2012

This morning we are going to be up bright and early and on the bus to the Animal Kingdom by 7am! Why so early? EMH? No.......

We have an 8am appointment for the Wild Africa Trek!! I am so excited about this! Tom and I try to do something new and different on every trip. We decided we wanted to do a tour since we hadn't done one in a while. We spent some time looking through all the tours and any of the ones that sounded interesting to us seemed to be too long. We kept skipping over Wild Africa Trek, neither of us thinking we would be interested in it but eventually we read the description and both got really excited about it. It got really great reviews. Hoping my new lens will come in handy during this tour and I'll have some great pics to share!

After our tour, it should be around 11 so the rest of the day will be spent hanging out in the Animal Kingdom. That park was sadly skipped on our last trip (other than the 5K) and we really missed it. Maybe a little Flame Tree BBQ lunch, a spin on Everest and Dinosaur, maybe Finding Nemo musical....who knows!

One thing about going in the middle of winter is the early park hours. AK closes at 5 that day so there's still plenty of day left!

We have a 7pm reservation at Raglan Road for dinner. Another new place to try which I'm excited about. Depending on how much fun we're having at Raglan Road, we'll either stay there or hop a bus to the Boardwalk for Jellyrolls!

Your next trip sounds great! :cool1: I love starting Disney trips in Epcot, everyone loves to start in MK, but I need to be in Epcot that first day! :rotfl: Meeting up with a DIS friend sounds like fun!

I'm starting to get really depressed about not having a Disney trip booked yet! When I got home in October I was fine, because I was already planning our quick December trip, but now I have nothing to plan, since we postponed our May trip! :sad1: I'm pretty sure we have decided to go back the last week of September next year, but I'm going crazy waiting for discounts to come out for that time of year, I'm guessing they won't be out for a couple more months! I just want to book something!!! :rotfl:

I can't wait to hear how you liked the Wild Africa Trek, it looks like so much fun! We like to do different things on each trip too, so I'm going to start looking into tours for our next trip, I really want to do the Epcot Segway tour!

Oh my gosh, I totally forgot to say!

You know the trouble that Tom went through the morning of the 40th to be able to get me my shirt? And how he missed the parade and presentation running from store to store to try and find one for himself, but to no avail? Well Christmas morning at my parents, he opens a gift from my mom and it's the freaking 40th anniversary shirt!! She was able to get it online!

That's great about the shirt. I know how crazy it was for him. Your day at AK sounds great. I can't wait to go back. We just decided to add two days at Disney before our cruise in July so now I have more planning to do. Oh darn! :goodvibes

YEAH! A PTR!!! I can't believe it is only a month away!! DH said I could book DL for the kids spring break but my cousin (who we were going to visit) unexpectedly passed away last week (she's 23). So I'm not sure if I'll get my Disney fix in March or if I will have to wait it out until July when we go to the world. Very exciting to have a trip so close!!!
