I overheard a conversation at work the other day and I want to get your opinion.
They were discussing coffee cake. Someone mentioned that they had it for the first time the week before and was surprised at how much it did NOT taste like coffee. They were "really disappointed" (as they put it) and thought that the person who made it should really look up a good recipe because all this coffee cake tasted like was cinnamon.
I had to listen to this conversation for damn near a half hour. Was driving me nuts.
I'm not sure what you consider coffee cake but I've always known it to be a cinnamon type cake usually made in a bundt pan. I've never had one that tasted like actual coffee. I think it's called coffee cake because a lot of people eat it with coffee, no?
What do you think? Cinnamon flavored or coffee flavored?
