What did you forget?

Deet what brand actually works? I think I tried them all and I get bit up. I have asked in numerous threads no one yet has gave me an answer.

I was in Grand Cayman and Cozumel in Feb at the height of the Zika scare. I did research and the following was the highest rated:

Natrapel 8-hour
Repel Lemon Eucalyptus
Sawyer Picadirin
OFF Deep Woods VIII

I ended up with the Natrapel and the Repel as they were the only ones I could find right before our cruise. The sawyer was sold out everywhere!
The Repel lemon smelled really strong...I didn't quite like it as it seemed to linger so I didn't bring it.
I used the Natrapel (picadirin is the main ingredient) and it was great. Did not get bit.

I also had Avon skin so soft picadirin towelettes. They are individually packaged and were really convenient as sometimes I'd forget to put the bug spray on before leaving the room. Their levels of picadirin are not that high though so it won't be as effective but great in a pinch. We went to Epcot after our cruise during the flower and garden festival and even though it wasn't swarming or anything I did notice some things flying around. The towelette came in handy.

Tylenol/Advil. My monthly visitor decided to arrive two days early on our first cruise so while I had feminine products I did not have anything for the cramps. Grrrr.

I have a friend who forgot her whole family's formal wear. The CMs loaned her a beautiful gown so that she could keep her reservation at Palo!

For me, a jacket or sweater for dining room, I am always cold especially when I have a cold drink too.

Have a wonderful time :)

Ok, so I posted this question to make some kind of checklist but I think my wife packed the house. We are going on a 3 day cruise and I could barely fit the luggage in the van that we rented to get there. Did I mention it is a 3 day cruise. Now I am wondering what we SHOULD HAVE forgot.

Shirts! Not sure how, but I didn't pack a single t-shirt. I am now the proud owner of 4 new DCL t-shirts. LOL

I've forgotten that I was on a Diet  ... cruise calories don't count :rotfl2:
I've forgotten that I really don't consume many "adult" beverages at home, but on the ship ...:drinking::drinking1
I've forgotten to turn on my phone in port so work could "catch up with me" :sad2::rolleyes::sad2:
I've forgotten that I usually go to bed before 10pm - what the heck am I doing up until after midnight on a cruise :confused3 :dancer:

I forgot the charger to my camera ( high tech cellphones weren't yet created) and therefore was very limited to how many pictures I could take. Fortunately, DH took some (but not nearly as much as I would have...) and we also had a few from DCL photographers.

I flew in to FLL the night before to catch B2B sailings on the Wonder out of Miami. I arrived late night and was staying at the Sheraton by the FLL airport and was scheduled to take a shared ride shuttle van the next morning to get to the port. The Sheraton airport van arrived to pick me up just as I had the awful realization that I had left my Sony Reader (all loaded up with books for vacation reading) in the seatback pocket of my US Airways CLT-FLL flight. I dashed back to baggage claim, but the plane had already been cleaned and was parked for the overnight. The baggage office was closed and nobody with access to the safe was still around to check if it had been turned in.

Fortunately, the next morning I called and learned it had been found by the cleaning crew, turned in, and put aside for me in the safe thanks to my name being on the old JetBlue and Amtrak boarding passes tucked into the case pocket. It was quite a hectic start to the vacation, though, as I took the airport van back to the airport, ran to the baggage office to get my reader, caught the van back to the hotel (the driver very nicely looped around the terminal for me), and got back to the hotel just in time to collect my bags from the room and meet my shuttle pickup to get to the port.

In a world full of smartphones and tablets, my wifi-less Sony Reader PRS-505 with e-ink display from 2008 is still my preferred means of reading e-books and I'm eternally thankful I got it back!

My wife's bras!!! We shared a bag once, (never again), she packed before me, so when I went to pack, I pulled out her bras do I didn't squish them and kind of forgot to put them back in before we left. I got very good at hand washing bras that trip. The good news was, she had plenty of clean bras when we came home!

I tried to do this for my wife but she was not happy. Maybe it had something to do with the fact she was still wearing it...

:confused3
