What did you do to save money this week (2/4/07)?

I thought Viva Pinata was only for PS2, not Xbox. That is what I have seen here in this area.

If its out in Xbox, you can rent games at my library for video game systems for a lower price than Blockbuster.

I don't think so, b/c we have a PS2, but we haven't found the game for the PS2. Maybe I need to research that a bit on amazon. I've been hoping they come out with it in other systems. I asked ds and he says Xbox360. And he's a video game geek (he wants to go to video game college! :lmao:

My daughter had play rehearsal scheduled for tonight. It's 30 minutes away. It was canceled due to the weather. So I saved an hours worth of driving in gas. :) And I get to hole up and stay home in this BRRRRR weather! :)

These are the same ones that print off at the register. You can either print them off from your computer or get the ones that print off at the register. You can't use both, of course. The second time the coupon will beep.

BUT I would print these particular ones off from the computer NOW, because IF they find its a mistake, they will fix the mistake and not have the $41 ECB print anymore. But history shows that if you have ALREADY printed them, they will work fine, no problem.

Did my first CVS ECB deal this week. Can't find on the webpage where to print them out - but perhaps it hasn't been added yet as I did the deal yesterday. How long before it appears on the webpage?

48 hours. :)

You'd just need to go to www.cvs.com and there will be a link to "check your ecb balances."

You'll have to enter your care card numbers, zip code, and last name to get your account to come up.

did a load of cold water wash, hung to dry...

turned thermostat down lower than usual and found that the inside temp is right at 67! had I not turned it down the heater would have been trying to make up that 1 degree difference all day! It's actually quite nice in here!

oh, and will be cooking dinner at home again tonight...

DD is certain that TacoBell has burned down and I'm just not telling her yet! lol

I thought I had a Healthy Choice meal in the freezer at work, so all I brought was a salad. Went to heat up lunch and there wasn't anything in the freezer. :( I ate that and then my eight mini rice cakes, and then my grapes. Still hungry. Should I go to McD's? NO-NO-NO-NO!!! I decided to actually leave at 5:00 for a change, and go home and cook dinner, get my list for Walgreens together while I'm eating, and then pop over there (less than 2 miles r/t so don't mind the extra trip!) after dinner.

Oh, and I've been listening to the new CD that came in the mail yesterday--YOWSA!!! GREAT GREAT STUFF! I didn't particularly care for thier first two CD's, but they seem to have gotten it together (and gotten sober with what I hear) and put out some great tunes. So that was a bonus that not only was it free, but it's terrific!

Well, I went to Kohls to get my son some summer clothes since we will be in WDW in 2.5 weeks:banana: and it is suppose to be near 80 w/humidty. Even with sales I would be paying near $10 for a shirt and $13-15 for shorts that are off-brand. Oshgosh was $18 for shirts and $20-25 for shorts on sale. Now I could care less about name brands but I seem to get longer wear out of Oshgosh. He has a pair of jeans that are 18 mos(he's 24 mos) and they are the only pair under 2T that he can still fit in and they look perfect (not too short).

So I went to my local outlets and went to Oshgosh and bought shirts $7-10 and shorts $10-15. I bought there last season and they are the same as in Kohl's only much cheaper!:thumbsup2

Can I ask about the coupon situation at CVS? I've never bought there before.

LET THIS BE A LESSON TO ALL OF YOU!!!!!

I posted on here a while ago that I was going to cancel our quicky trip to the Poly and the Pirate Party to save money. Also because we hade been to Disney twice in December.;)

This had really been dwelling on me. SO, when my SIL called DH to say she was taking her GDs to Disney for ones Bday, I was wide open to what happened. It was like a junky let loose in a pharmacy.:confused3

Now in the 15 years I have known DH I have never met this DSil. She is avoided like the plague ** him and all his other many siblings because she is apparently crazy. She has accused people of things which were completely impossible (like the accused wasn't even in the COUNTRY when said things happened) and has just caused a HUGE amount of family drama.

BUT, since I was in Disney withdrawl when she called (to ask if she could take OUR DS with her:scared1: yeah, right!) I somehow ended up making reservations for all of us to SHARE a Ft. Wilderness cabin for two nights this coming week. For the money I am spending on this we could have just gone to the Poly like I planned originally.

DH was OK with this since 1. his younger brother just died last month and he is feeling he should mend fences and 2. she never accussed HIM of anything:rotfl: . But now he is starting to get nervous. He knows his DS is capable of saying some pretty outragous things and doesn't really want our DSon around that KWIM?

My mom and sis are drama queens in the since that they will scream or cry at the drop of a hat, but they don't lie about people to manipulate situations (apparently DSIL has threatened to turn people into the HRS etc. just to cause trouble?). I'm not used to dealing with people like that and I'm getting really worried. What if I upset her and she calls the HRS on us? Not that they would find anything wrong, but it would be embarrassing and messy, right? I don't know anyone this has happened to.

URGH!!! Why didn't I just stick to the original plan? Then I wouldn't be in this mess. This is what happens when you cut back in ways that your subconscious is really not willing to concede.

There is NO WAY I would go especially if you do not even know this person and they have caused problems previously. We have vacationed with family members that we are close to and it can be too much. We had such a horrible experience last summer that we have not told ANYONE that we are doing a Disney cruise & the Beach Club this March for fear that these same people would book the same trip as us. I would save your money and do the Poly.

I was very close to saying this same thing....the only thing that stopped me was that the trip is like NOW...coming up very shortly. If the trip was farther away, yeah, I'd say don't go. But seems like it's very hard to get out of such last minute. :confused3 :confused3

about to finish up one of my DD lotions she was going to throw out as she does not like the feel/scent.(plus they look very "little girlish") I'm not crazy about it either but have been using it on my feet when I go to bed and put on a pair of socks to sleep in.....super soft tootsies in the morning!

So....I've grabbed the other two bottles she is getting rid of to do the same with! 3 free bottles of lotion!

We are doing the same thing! I mean, we are going to WDW in Dec. and haven't told DH's family as they have already suggested we do a trip together.."wouldn't it be fun for the kids (DN9, and my DD's 6 & 8) to experience it for the first time together....!"

Well, yes, but we don't want to be stuck with them for a whole week, and we would be. Not like "see ya at dinner" !

I feel kinda bad and selfish about it, but this is a BIG deal (and an expensive trip!) and "I wanna do what I wanna do" (and MY kids, of couse!) and I don't want to have to compromise with my S & B IL....

Maybe our next trip!!

Good luck !!

It's 10 degrees here. With a windchill below zero.

I turned off my heat pump!!!!!!!!!!! :)

It's been going all freakin' day (set at 67) and now the temp in the house is 63!! So obviously it's not keeping up well. Aux heat had switched on (anyone know what the difference is between aux heat and e-heat?) but it's still COLD in here.

I've turned on my fireplace insert on high (heat 'n glo) and it will at least heat the main living areas. Once it's toasty here, I'll turn on the heat pump set to maybe 60 so I can keep the fan blowing to pull in warm heat 'n glo air to hopefully distribute to other areas of the house. Worst case scenerio, we sleep in the living room in sleeping bags by the insert! Although we all have heated mattress pads, so we shouldn't be THAT cold! :)

Am I being reasonable or has the cold totally gotten to me and I'm one step away from clinical hypothermia??? :lmao: :lmao:

Just got back from my first experience with CVS! I had to do the $20 ecb with the purchase of $40. I just signed up for the card when I got there. I tried checking my account when I got home, but it hasn't gone through yet because it won't let me access my account. I know it takes 48 hours for the ecbs, but how long will it be before I can access my account since I just signed up for the card? I'm hoping to get the $41.00 back before they notice the mistake!
Well I purchased $44.00 worth of stuff and had lots of coupons so that brought my total down to $30.09 :):cool1:
So even if I only get $20.00 back I'm still thrilled. I have plenty of toilet paper, baby wipes, and ziplock containers to last a couple months!

I decided I couldn't deal with the stress (not feeling great) and that DS shouldn't miss two days of school. I had DH call his DS and tell her how to make a reservation at All Stars (which would be cheaper than sharing a cabin with us even with our Fl. resident rate), she got turned around by the answering system and decided to make a ressie at HOJOs :confused3 . She got a great deal though.;)

I changed our ressie to one night at the CR:cool1: ($20something cheaper then the Poly) so we can still do the party with them. Everything would be wonderful except they're staying at my house on their way down. Hope that goes well. We'll see.

How did you get the coupon for $10 for a perscription? Does it have to be a new perscription, or can you transfer an existing one?

Target had sent me a coupon book (I guess because I have a Target card...not sure though) and there was a coupon in there . I don't know for sure what it said since I no longer have the coupon.

Does someone else have the little red book of coupons and can you please look and let vhoffman know? THANK YOU.

I had gotten one of those coupons sent to me by CVS, but I either lost it or junked it... can someone help?? I want to go do a good sized run (I have $20 ECB right now to spend) and could really use the coupon. Thanks!:upsidedow
