Hey everybody,

Am now flying (vs. driving) to MCO therefore, will have an extra night at ASMo (week before Christmas). Since we have some extra time, would like to spend a half day at FW .

Any suggestions of what we could do there with a DD7 and DS4?
We are already planning on visiting the petting zoo and going on a pony ride. Are there any good walking paths that young kids can handle? The kids are really into nature.

Any other suggestions?

Can anyone recommend a somewhere to eat lunch or dinner at FW. I think I remember reading somehting about a good buffet but don't know the details.

Also, how do we get around FW once we arrive at the entrance?

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
You should see the very heavy rain/thunder/lightning we are experiencing this morning (just west of Peterborough, ON) YUCK!

The Trails End Buffet is the best value for your money in WDW .They have good choices for kids. There are trails and also you can take a boat over to WL and see the geyser and look around or take one boat to MK dock and then another one to GF and the Poly.
Have a good time.

Once you park in the main lot at FW, you need to use their internal bus system to get around the resort. When we stayed their about 5 years ago we found the bus routes to be extremely confusing - but I know they've changed them since then.

They also have a daily evening campfire and outdoor movie.

If you don't have a car, use disney transportation. Get the boat to FW from MK. It will take you to the main area of FW. As you walk up to the main area, don't forget to see the lawnmower tree on your right. The Settlement trading post is on your left. At the playground, walk to the right to River Country (now closed). There is a great nature trail there, along the shores of Bay Lake. Trail's End has a reasonable priced buffet. It's not as extensive or as expensive as a character breakfast. You can look up the menu on the dining site. If you get the chance to go to the Hoop De Doo by all means go. It is great, and kids love it. The food is ok but the show is hilarious. We've been about 25-30 times and wouldn't miss it. As you walk up to the bus area, don't forget to pause and smell the roses if they are in bloom. It's heavenly. The petting area is to the right of the path to the buses. Also the stables for the horses on Main Street MK. You can walk through. It's been many years since we did this, but I believe they still have pony rides the kids may enjoy. Take the bus to the Meadow. There is another store there. It is behind that that they show movies at dark, outside every night. There is a campfire (bring your own marshmallows), and Chip and Dale will visit. You can go to their site to see what the schedule for the movies playing. To get to All Stars, catch a bus to the TTC to DTD. Or, if it's not too late, go to the TTC, catch the monorail to Epcot, and your resort bus from there. The transportation board may have a better way.
