I thought it might be fun to ask everyone about defunct attractions. There are so many wonderful ones that are "no longer with us." What attractions do you wish Disney would bring back? I hope someone from Disney reads this thread. Wishful thinking I know. Here are mine:

Diamond Horseshoe Review - This was such a fun show and so perfect for Frontierland. It was a nice little break to sit down and have a snack and watch a great show. I remember going to the show as a child. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!

Tiki Birds - I would give anything to have the original Tiki Birds back. The new one is a joke. The music isn't timeless. They shoudl not touch any of the attractions that Walt had a hand in.

River Country - Oh, I miss River Country. What a unique water park. I like it better than the concrete jungle type water parks. Again, it was a great fit for Fort Wilderness. Isn't Disney all about theming?

Imagination - I would love to get the original Imagination ride back. The new one...a big fat joke!!!

Super Star Theatre - Wasn't this fun? Every show was different and very entertaining. Seems like a waste of a building now.

Monster Sound Show - Again, this was a fun interactive show. Sounds Dangerous is another big fat joke!

If You Had Wings - Don't laugh at me, I know it's really really old. But I loved it. The song, the ride, the scenery...everything.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride - Although I love Pooh, I miss Mr. Toad. Can't we have both????? Oh well, I got to ride it in Disneyland last year.

Residential Street - I miss Residential Street at MGM. I know the car stunt show is there and they needed the space, but I don't like it enough to warrant losing Residential street. I miss seeing the homes and I especially miss the Osborne Lights being there. I don't like it as much now that it's on the city streets. It's just not the same. Plus, without Residential Street the backstage tour is so short that it's ridiculous.

I'm sure there are more but that's all I can think of right now. Tell me yours!!!!

Horizons and World of Motion in FW at Epcot. I still remember Horizons fondly- picking the ending of the ride, and the way the vehicles came out of the building, then back in. Also, loved World of Motion- I always thought it was funny.

I second Horizon's. I remember as a kid loving the "choose" your own ending. Who can forget the Orange Smell. I also liked Crainum Command, A cute show only open seasonally now. Though is needs to be updated, it has a lot of potential.
:tink:

I agree about the Diamond Horseshoe Review..It was a great show for Frontierland and the perfect spot for a little something to eat and relax. I would LOVE to see this back!

Horizons and If You Had Wings are the two that I miss the most. Oh, and also the Original Imagination ride. I despise the new one.

My vote would be for 2 shows at MGM - the Hunchback show and the Doug show. I miss those so much!!!!!! :sad2: And of course Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. I love Pooh and all, but nothing beat's Mr. Toad.

At MK, 20,000 leagues under the sea (I think thats what it was called). That was my favorite when I was a kid.

My wife and I were talking about that last night. We were listening to a Disney CD last night witht the kids (we are headed out for their first trip to Disney tomorrow) and the Tiki Birds came on. The kids loved it. I was so dissappointed to have to tell them that they don't sing that anymore. The new one is just awful IMO.

Definitely agree with Horizons and Motion - all Motion needed was a little updating. Never understood why they axed those. And definitely 20,000 Leagues!

Another vote for Horizons and Motion. Also a vote for the original Living Seas complete with movie, hydrolators and sea cabs. I don't believe there is such a thing as a "tired attraction." :)

They should turn River Country into a resort pool for WL and FW kind of like Stormalong Bay. I hate when Disney just leaves attractions to rot. Remember Treasure Island. They could do something really cool on that island. Something like hide away honeymoon cabanas but it just sits there. How long was 20,000 leagues sit then they come up with junk when they had prime real estate. Really the Imagineers really aren't that great, all the money spent on stitch and they create the other characters in cartoon form then just one gimmick (junk), that woody's dance party (junk) Pooh's playground (waste), the new Tiki birds (junk) and so on. Even Mission Space is just too extreme. Soarin is the only great new ride. They need to look themselves in the mirror and get to work.

I miss the Skyway in MK. That was by far the best way to see everything MK offered at a glance.

1. The Diamond Horseshoe Revue - great place to cool off, eat and have fun!
2. 20,000 Leagues Under the Seat - one of my favorite rides.
3. The Skycab(?) thingy that transports you over the crowds - great arial shots for photo buffs.

Add another vote for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride! The Pooh ride is cute, but Mr. Toad was one of my favorites.

I also think they should not have gotten rid of the "sea cab" part of the Living Seas. Now there is pretty much nothing to it. I still enjoy looking around and seeing the manatees, but I loved that pavilion as a kid, it felt like a little adventure. I also liked the Food Rocks show a lot. It was cheesy, but some of the songs cracked me up.

20,000 Leagues always kind of freaked me out, but I guess that was the point, lol.

Yeah, like:
stove vents,
conduit,
antennas,
cables,
ladders,
service hatches,
air conditioners,
motor housings,
modern roofing materials on "antique" buildings,
and the inapproriate connection between buildings that were not supposed to be "connected"...

A truly MAGICAL EXPERIENCE!

I went to WDW only once as a child, all the other times I have gone as an adult so I don't remember some of the rides the same way.

Because I love the Disney movies so much and assoc. many of the rides to the corresponding movie I do miss some of those rides.

I really miss: 20,000 leagues Under the SEa. I rode it as a 9 year old and thought I really was underwater. It was amazing for me. I rode it again many years later right before it closed and enjoyed it, but it wasn't like the first time as a child.

I really miss: Mr. Toads wild Ride: I must say as everyone else already has that IMHO Pooh is a much better ride, but I loved the the Mr. Toad movie so much, that I really miss those characters.

I really do miss the Horseshoe: My family walked by that saloon every year until the year before they shut it down, and it was hot outside so we just walked in, and man how we have regretted not going before, especially now that it's gone.

And what about the Keel boats? are they still around?

'86 Off Property (the Radison outside the maingate, does anybody remember that place?)

2000 CONT

'04 WL (our favorite)
