What Are You Reading Right Now?

I just got Stephen King's Under the Dome from the library. Seriously? I'm a voracious reader, but I think I'll need to wait for summer to tackle it. I did read The Stand but that was before kids. DD called it my Bible, DS called it the encyclopedia.
Is it easy reading once you get into it? Doable in a library cycle? Because I was 500-something on the list to get it. It would be a while before I could get it again.
Never been freaked out by a book before! Intimidating!

Don't be intimidated.
"Under the Dome" is a good read. No where near as good as his brilliant "The Stand" but still a good read.
I read it in 3 days. Enjoy!

You are a better person than I am for having finished The Double Bind. It lost me at the beginning with all the references to Heathcliff and Daisy. My librarian had recommended it to me and told me how it ends when I told her I wouldn't finish it.

I thought the concept was interesting and I liked the story as told by my librarian... just not by the author.

It was probably more interesting to me as I live in Vermont and was familiar with all the settings. Also, I had fun guessing who some of the characters may be based on! I never saw or read The Great Gatsby so I feel your pain about that part.

"Under the Dome" is a good read. No where near as good as his brilliant "The Stand" but still a good read.

I read the Double Bind too and thought it was ok, I was confused too....
His books typically leave me feeling a little disturbed, as did Skeletons at the Feast. Yet I keep reading his books!

Reading Under the Dome now...on my Kindle. I am just over half way through. I do like it; it's very compelling. Tons of characters. If I was reading more, it wouldn't take too long, it is a pretty fast read (style-wise). But I don't have a lot of chunks of time to read.

Ooh, I just finished Dead Until Dark last night and started Living Dead in Dallas- I'm on page 106 so far! I'm really enjoying the series.

Me too! I got it from the library and got 200 pages in before it was due back and since the wait list was so long I couldn't renew it. So I just returned it. I read what happens in the end to kill my curiousity.

Not going to miss it though. It was interesting, but I don't think I could stand carrying around such a giant book for as long as it would take to finish it.

Right now I'm reading "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand. Only about 60 pages in but its pretty good so far.

I finished The Shadow Rising by Robert Jordan. This is the fourth book in this series and I have enjoyed it as much as the first three. Now to take a break and read something not fantasy.

I'm starting Whitethorn Woods by Maeve Binchy today. When I was younger, I did not care for her stories but I've come to appreciate them as I've grown older.

I'm reading "New York" by Edward Rutherford. It's historical fiction and tells the story of NY from the days of the early Dutch settlers. I'm enjoying it because I grew up 45 minutes from Manhattan and it's interesting learning about how it came to be.

How are you liking, Fantasy in Death? I like the series so far, but I think I'm ready to read some different things for a bit. I do have some books on hold. I've been reading, Ritual in Death, but I've also read a few weight management books as well. Maybe breaking the rhythm has me a little less interested. I don't know. I'm going to try to get back into it this afternoon.

I started The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver. I'm on page 70 and I'm bored to death. I never ever give up on a book, but I'm about to.
I really liked The Poisonwood Bible but so far I'm not liking this one.

Started "Chosen" last night (book 3 in the House of Night series). I am enjoying the series even though the writing is a bit redundant.

I just finished "Marked" the first book in the series and was not impressed. I didn't mind putting it down for a few days. Did I miss something? Should I go on to the next book? Wasn't bad but wasn't great.

This is a tough one for me to recommend to be honest. Mainly because I am conflicted about it myself, LOL.
I really love the storyline but feel like so many better things could be done with it. I also happen to like the characters but I almost feel as if I'm on a merry-go-round with them with as much as every single thing gets repeated in these books.

That being said, I will finish out the series because I feel like I need to see it through and I really do want to find out how it all comes together in the end.
