I am reading the Southern/Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris, this is the books the show True Blood is based on. I am about half way done with Dead as a Doornail. I really like the books and the show, they are not the same so it makes it even more interesting!:happytv:

I'm just starting Three Cups of Tea (Greg Mortenson). My Dad gave me the book and I've heard great things. Anyone read this?

Although I haven't read it, I've heard of it and I'm really intrigued by it. Please post your opinion of it after you read it. I'd be very interested.

I'm finishing up "Smitten" by Evanovich. For me it was just OK. Next up will be a Susan Wittig Albert book. I think it's called "Bleeding Heart" about a high school football coach who turns up dead.

Reading Salvation In Death by JD Robb. Not my favorite book in the series but very engrossing. Less than 100 pages to go and this is the first time I can ever remember not knowing who the killer is. And Eve doesn't have it all yet either. And no flipping to the back of the book didn't help at all:lmao: I had thought about skipping this 1, but I just can't skip an Eve Dallas book:rotfl:

I have, and I really enjoyed it. You will never think of the Middle East in the same way ever again! There were some sluggish parts, but for the most part, the things he went through are incredible! Stick with it, and you won't be upset you did.

Well, I picked up Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince to try to get through before we see the movie. I started it at 10:00 yesterday morning, and DH called to say we would be seeing the movie today at 6:30 at the local IMAX theater. I read that book all day long, ignoring the house and the kids, too, and by 10:00 last night I had finished the book. I'm glad I re-read it before seeing the movie. I'd forgotten a whole bunch!

Today I'm starting "American Gods" by Neil Gaimon. I really like his writing, so I'm hopeful that I'll enjoy it. After that, it's on to "Sandstorm" by James Rollins.

How were these 2 books by Jodi Picoult? I have only read one of her books (19 Minutes) and really liked it. I may have to pick up more.
I've read a bunch of Picoult's books. I've liked most of them except the last one, Handle With Care. I thought the whole storyline patterned itself too much like My Sister's Keeper. Different story, but much of it felt the same.

I met with my book club this morning and they chose Teacher Man by Frank McCourt in order to honor him in his death. Has anyone read that? I took the copy they had in my library today so I can read it on vacation next week.

Thanks for mentioning that. I'll keep that title in mind. I just finished, Accidental Tourist by her. It was good. I enjoyed it. But it was much different from my usual reading. It took awhile for me to get into it, but I'm glad I stuck it out. I added a quote to my sig. from her book. I thought it was interesting.

When I got the book, I had a mistaken notion I was getting, Table for 5 (the plot that is, minus the title) or something like that. I had that plot in my mind when I saw that title. I had seen trailers with John Voight (sp) and some children in a movie with a title like that. It was bugging me, because I couldn't place the story I had in mind. But I think that was the one. Anyway, I'd like to read that one too if I can get the title straight that is.

Next up is, Sleeping Murder, by Agatha Christie.

I really like Anne Tyler and have read several of her books. I never can remember which is which, though. :)

I highly recommend Digging to America.

I just finished "Child 44" by Tom Rob Smith. It was very engaging, thrilling, and disturbing. But a really good read! I highly recommend to all.;)

The Mist by Carla Neggers

It is the sequeal to The Angel.

How is The Mist? I have The Angel loaded on my Kindle, but am caught up in Perfect Poison by Amanda Quick right now. It's Regency period but one of her Arcane Society books (she writes modern ones under Jayne Ann Krentz). These are written as Regency but read pretty modern, as in all the women are forward thinking progressives, not content to sit idly by and let the men solve the mystery.

Angels & Demons by Dan Brown. I have found it to be a quick read dispite the size of the book. If you liked The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown or the National Treasure movie you would like this book.

I thought it was okay. Read The Angel first and you will know about the Characters in the Mist.

Just finished Once Upon Stilettos...and starting Dead Until Dark

I just finished Sworn to Silence by Linda Castillo. It was rather good, if you like edge of the seat type of books.

The Girl That Played Go by Shan Sa...excellent book!

finished it in 2 days....

Finished Dead Until Dark this past week and I ended up loving it! :thumbsup2

Right now I'm reading an old Erma Bombeck book (At Wit's End) ~ she cracks me up and I can't get the next Sookie book until Monday.

This week I read The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger for a second time (refreshing my memory before seeing the movie) and Alice's Adventures In Wonderland by Lewis Carrol. I am going to start Through The Looking Glass today and am hoping to pick up Lover Eternal by JR Ward later this week. I was so disappointed when I went to the book store on Friday and they had the rest of the series but not that book in particular.

Im so glad I stumbled across this tread. I LOVE to read!
