After a week spent gorking out on Romance novels for stress relief - I switched over to a comedy and HOLY CRAP is this sucker funny.

re: the Sookie Stackhouse series: Do any of the rest of you that have completed the series dislike True Blood? I myself find it absolutely stupid and in no way like the books. Just my humble opinion. Off my soapbox now, lol.

I agree, but I do watch the series, for glimpses of Eric. I'm shallow

Wuthering Heights for English summer reading (Brit/Western Lit).
Nineteen Minutes for fun.

I just abandoned a free Kindle book and deleted it from my list because it was so disturbing. It was called "Serial". I do NOT recommend it.
I had to very quickly find something not dark to remove the story and images from my mind. So, I'm reading a light-hearted romance now.

Thanks for that heads up, I contemplated it (hey, it's free ;)) and then decided against it. They are getting a little strange with their free books, if you look at some of the choices out there now.

...yeah, I think so too (don't like the J.D.Robb ones)- but the next one isn't due out until December! :headache:

...I was gonna buy that yesterday - how was it??

I love the JD Robb stories for yummy Roarke ;) I just skip the yucky parts :lmao:

Black Hills was just okay. Normally I read hers cover to cover in a day or two but this one took a while. Can't really put my finger on why :confused3

...wow....I've read pretty much every one of her books and haven't been disappointed yet....:guilty:

Hi Cam - If you're looking for a light-hearted read check out the "Vision in White" by Nora Roberts :thumbsup2

Thanks for the advice, Suzy! You know me so well. I read it immediately when it came out, and having just had our vow renewal, it was even more fun to read. I can't wait for the others. I have read every single thing written by Nora Roberts/J.D.Robb. She is certainly my favorite author; thank goodness she is pretty prolific. BTW, Howard is taking me away for a romantic getaway my birthday weekend to the historic inn that Nora restored and owns in western Maryland. :cloud9: :lovestruc

Golfgirl3613 sums it up pretty much the same way that I would. I had to get used to the idea that the series was deviating from the books, but I can appreciate both of them.

Just about done with "Vanishing Acts" by Jodi Picoult..

If the books I ordered don't arrive today, I may start to re-read my large collection of John Saul books (supernatural thrillers).. It was quite a few years ago when I first started reading them, so they should be like "new" to me..:goodvibes

I have several of his as well and I go back every few years and reread them along with my Dean Koontz and Stephen King. :thumbsup2

My mom just found me John Saul's Blackstone Chronicles series at a used book store (book 3 is missing so I'll start reading them as soon as I track that one down).

I finished The Host by Stephenie Meyer last week. Slow in the beginning but, I ended up liking it.

Started the Sookie Stackhouse series this week. I'm a couple of chapters into the second, Living Dead in Dallas now. Love them!:thumbsup2
