What Are You Reading Right Now?

Is anyone else reading The Choice by Sparks? I have about 20 pages left and was wondering what others thought/thought so far.

I haven't read this, and I usually like Nicholas Sparks. How is it? I just started 19 Minutes and I also got Harvesting the Heart. It's pretty obvious I'm currently on a Jodi Picoult read-a-thon.

I haven't decided what I am going to read next. Either Atonement by Ian McEwan or Soul Catcher by Michael White. Someone decided for me, lol! :)

Atonement! I'm reading this right now and I'm amazed at how well it translated into the movie... I need to discuss my thoughts so I need at least one other Dis'er to be reading it. :rotfl:

I don't know if you saw my update, but I loved the book but HATED the ending. It's worth reading though.

That's what I've decided to do, lol! But I gotta tell you, the first few pages haven't really gotten me into the book yet. But I've heard so many good reviews of it that I'm going to be patient :)

I just finished 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult. It was an excellent read. I could not put it down. I am going to pick up her new one today.

"Change of Heart" by Jodi Picoult

It's about a woman who loses her husband and oldest daughter (they are murdered) and the man who killed them is convicted and put on death row, then her youngest daughter needs a heart transplant and the killer wants to give her his heart.

Jodi's books are always great, and sometimes quite thought provoking.

I think my next up is Atonement and/or The Book Thief.
I am currently reading The Book Thief & next up is Atonement. I'll be taking a whole stack of books with me to WDW in 16 days! :cool1:

I'm getting ready to start "Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10." A friend of mine said that it was one of the best books he's ever read. Hopefully, I'll enjoy it just as much.

Well, I already read it and saw the movie. I thought they did a really nice job also. And I think the movie kind of spells things out for you a little bit better than the book did. It was a good book. It felt a little slow moving at times and I was concerned about how the book would translate to film since much of the book is internal thoughts about the same events expressed by different characters. That being said, my boyfriend found the movie to be rather boring and I might have too if I hadn't read and enjoyed the book.

I just finished reading I, Tina the Tina Turner quasi-autobiography. It was really good, but made me sad b/c she probably won't ever tour again and I was too young to catch her when she was touring. Oh well...no more pleasure reading for a while since law school takes up most of my time,

Let us know how you like that one. Based on so many good comments about it I put it on my Amazon wish list.

I'll let you know. If it's as good as my friend said it is, I can see why the reviews are so positive.

I just started The 6th Target by James Patterson. It is the 6th book in a series. I read the first 5 and have been wanting to go to the library for this one but my neighbor came over yesterday and gave me a whole bunch of books by James Patterson, this one included. I really do enjoy his books, but would also like to venture out and try a different author and would love some suggestions. Books like his I like so any ideas you have would be welcome.

Currently reading Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. Very different from what I usually read. I like anything by Nora Roberts too.:)

Give Jonathan Kellerman a try. I love Patterson as well and Kellerman is just as good. His Alex Delaware series rocks! It's begins with When the Bough Breaks.

Actually, I have a copy of it if you'd like me to send it to you. Just PM me :)

I will give him a try, thanks for offering the book to me, but I will just check it out of the library. I have no room in the house for so many books as I read alot.

Oooh! That's a really good trilogy! It's in my top 4 favorite trilogies she's written (The Key trilogy is my all time favorite - I've read that one at least 5 times through).

ETA:
If anybody cares ( ;) ) My top 4 favorites are:

4. Circle Trilogy (Morrigan's Cross, Dance of the Gods, Valley of Silence)
3. Irish Trilogy (Jewels of the Sun, Tears of the Moon, Heart of the Sea)
2. Three Sisters Trilogy (Dance Upon the Air, Heaven and Earth, Face the Fire)
1. The Key Trilogy (Key of Light, Key of Knowledge, Key of Valor)

Her new one - Blood Brothers, is also VERY good. :)

I really liked the trilogy bolded above!

I just finished These Is My Words by Nancy Turner. It was phenomenal. Kind of like a Little House on the Prairie for adults (that is a good thing!) After the first 50 pages or so, I couldn't put it down (not easy with 3 kids!). I thank the DISer that recommended it on one of these threads!

I am about to pick up either Suite Francaise or Saving Fish from Drowning...both are on my nightstand. Anyone?
