Refresh my memory on this one because I just finished a book by him but can't remember the title now.

The book I recently read had the main male character in the Army. Same book or not?

No different Sparks book....not that I can remember the name of it:lmao:

Disney A to Z - The Updated Official Encyclopedia by Dave Smith

Yes, I have no life worth mentioning when DW and the boys go to sleep. My co-workers are starting to avoid me and my Pal Mickey........:lmao:

I'm just finishing up Kitchen Confidential. Next book I'm going to read is going to be Stardust.

Someone please reassure me that Atonement picks up. I am only on page 10 or so and it's just a bunch of blah blah blah about a play that kids are putting on. Everyone says this book is soooooooooo good and it's boring me so far.

Please help!
Bumping my own post, hoping someone responds!!

Lindsay...off topic but that is such a cute picture of you and your Honey....

I have the Atonement......haven't picked it up yet, I am reading an Elizabeth Berg right now.
I have read so much feedback that Atonement starts really slow.

I think it was this thread that I had mentioned I was reading Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult. It took me a while to get through it, not because I wasn't enjoying it, but because I have had so much work to do lately.

Anyway, I finished it a few minutes ago and wow----did that last paragraph surprise me!! I was at the last part and I was thinking about a feeling of closure with the book and wham.....

Now I am getting ready to start The Hot Zone by Richard Preston, thanks to a thread on this board!!

Well..........about Atonement...........my sister got it for Christmas. She got as far as finishing chapter two before she gave up. Sis then gave it to me and was very proud that I did so well and got as far as finishing chapter three :lmao: .

Sorry, our copy ended up at the book exchange. We were pretty surprised because we pretty much read EVERYTHING. We can finish pretty much anything you hand us. It's surprising when we don't. Didn't hate it or anything but absolutely nothing grabbed me and made me want to waste my time continuing when there were so many other books out there to get started on! Of course as always, YOMV :)

My read of the moment is Paula Deen's memoir, "It Ain't All About the Cookin'" Interesting so far. I think next I'll start over at the beginning of the Laurel K. Hamilton series and re-read.

I just finished John Steinbeck's "Travels with Charley". It was wonderful!!! A quick read for bedtime. Boy did he love that dog! I found it interesting some of his social commentary still hits home today.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clarke. (Twilght got me on a teen fiction kick!)

Wow! I haven't been on here in a while. I've been busy with school work, once spring break is over the work load picks up!

I just finished Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult. It rocked! One of her best!! I need to decide what I'm going to read now.

I can't wait to read this. I love Picoult's novels. My favorites are Nineteen Minutes and My Sister's Keeper

I just finished the latest Sophie Kinsella "Remember Me?" It was pretty cute and a quick read.

I love her novels, especially the Shopaholic ones. I will have to get this once it comes out in paperback!

"eat this, not that" by david zinczenko

How is this book? I was thinking of ordering it on amazon but wasn't sure how it was. Let me know please!

Vanishing Acts by Jodi Piccoult and also Gifts From the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh.

Allyson :)

Anyone interested in reading "Empress"? I bought it in hardcover and read it then passed it on. I gave it a rave review as did my 2 friends that read it.

This Christmas I received as a gift the same book in paperback. When I took it back to Barnes & Noble the receipt was over 60 days so they refused to take it back. They said I could sell it at the annex for $1 so I just brought it home.
My question to all...."would you like the new paperback"? I would be more than happy to send it on...no cost involved.

I am reading High Five by Janet Evanovich. :) Still reading Nineteen Minutes but the Stephanie Plum series has me addicted right now. :teeth:

Seriously? I'll take it :) I will make a list of books I was going to take to the used bookstore and PM you and we can have an even trade, if you like :)

I am purchasing Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult today. I read a piece on it and it seems so interesting. Geez I love her books!

It is good :) Kind of reminded me of My Sister's Keeper. PM me when you finish it. There was one thing about the book that bugged me.

I just finished two books I loved.

The Heroines by Eileen Favorite. It's about a teen girl and her mother who own a B&B and many of their guests are literary heroines like Madame Bovary, Scarlett O'Hara, and Hester Prynne. It was interesting that I found Cathy Earnshaw as annoying in a modern day setting as I did in Wuthering Heights. :lmao: I really loved this book.

The Monsters of Templeton by Lauren Groff is about a young woman who returns home to a fictionalized version of Cooperstown and researchs her ancestors who founded the town. Lots of references to James Fennimore Cooper's works.

I highly recommend them both. It's funny--I didn't realize until just now that both books involve a young woman searching for her biological father. :rotfl: They're very different but apparently I unconsciously picked two books with a common theme.
