I'm reading "Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World" right now. The author tends to ramble a bit but it's a sweet book about an amazing cat.

I recently read this too.
Ready to start another Suzanne Arruda book, The Serpent's Daughter.

I just finished The Thirteenth Tale for my bookclub and it was interesting. Was great for a discussion but a little dark. I also read Sunday at Tiffany's by Patterson and I enjoyed it. Now I'm going to start The Gatehouse by DeMille. Can't wait, I love his books.
I really liked The Thirteenth Tale! Very gothic!

I just finished the last Diary of a Wimpy Kid book. They are funny, I actually lol, and they take about an hour to read! I have Inkdeath, and then World Without End ready to go.

But I got A Thousand Splendid Suns for Christmas. I love it! If I were single, not a parent and didn't have a job, I would have finished it in a day. But I'm trying to read it slow because I really enjoy it.

I also got Atonement and the new Grisham, but they've been packed and we don't move until the end of March (at the earliest).
I am thoroughly enjoying A Thousand Splendid Suns right now. What completely blowed my mind is that this book is pretty much set in present day time. :guilty:

Tried Atonement & really, really wanted to enjoy it, but I couldn't do it! 200 pages in I just gave up. Disappointed in myself, but there were too many other books that I wanted to read.

I just finished Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, which can be exciting, startling, and audacious (in good ways, unless you're a major prude, and is also a Pulitzer winner--this is a current trend of mine)
I recently read Middlesex. Very interesting, isn't it? A very different read. It really makes you think.

I like to check out the books the children read so I can know what they are reading.:coffee:

I just finished "Sarah's Key", "The Kindness of Strangers", and "Second Chance"........all three were wonderful, the first 2 were intense and powerful and the 3rd was lighthearted and mostly fun.:thumbsup2

I just finished Testimony by Anita Shreve. Very good read, I really like this author. Read her book Body Surfing too. Next up is a Danielle Steele book A Good Woman is the title, I think.

Please let us know how "A Good Woman" is. I have it to read after "Tribute" by Nora Roberts.

Tribute is by far my Favorite Nora Roberts book! Enjoy it. Its probably the only one I would read again.

Tribute was very good.

CharityLynn, have you read "the Pilot's Wife" by Anita Shreve? I found it to be one of her best.

I'm currently reading "Daemon" by Daniel Suarez. I'm about halfway through it and it's pretty good.
"The Brass Verdict" by Michael Connelly is on deck.

I just finished reading Karen Kingsbury's "Even Now", and "Ever After". I had a really tough time finishing the second one because I had to keep putting it down I cried too much.

I've recently finished reading Water For Elephants. I loved it! I highly recommend it. So far the two people I passed the book onto have also loved it.

I also finished reading two books by A.J. Jacobs. The first one is called: The Year of Living Biblically (One Man's Humble Quest to Follow the Bible, as Literally as Possible). It's a true story, Jacobs tries to live a "Biblical" life. Very, very funny. A great read.

His other book is called: The know it all. I really liked this one too. Jacobs is an entertaining writer.

Right now I'm reading Rock Bottom. I can't remember the authors name (I'm too lazy to get up right now). It's just OK, not one I'd say a must read.

Next up is Amy Tan's, Saving Fish From Drowning.

"he's just no good for you: a guide for getting out of a destructive relationship" by beth wilson (my sister is going thru a bad time with her husband, so i'm reading this then passing the book on to her)

"the duggar's: 20 and counting!" by michelle and jim bob duggar (can't get enough of those crazy duggars!)

I am re-reading 2 books right now, "Prayer for Owen Meany" by John Irving (upstairs) and "Something Borrowed" by Emily Giffin (downstairs). I hate having to run up and down stairs when I need something to read!

Tribute is by far my Favorite Nora Roberts book! Enjoy it. Its probably the only one I would read again.

Ooh, thanks for that recommendation. Now I can't wait to get started (my "DH is hogging the TV for the Super Bowl" book). I know I've read "Something Borrowed". Is that the one where she dates the girl friend's boy friend?

I'm reading a mystery by Kate Wilhelm called Cold Case. I remember Wilhelm as a science fiction writer in the 1970s, and didn't realize she'd switched genres! She's a great writer and Cold Case is a real page-turner.

It is! I really enjoyed her first three, Something Borrowed, Something Blue and Baby Proof. Her newest (Love the One You're With, maybe???) was not as good, but still a quick and enjoyable read.

Finished A Thousand Splendid Suns last night (great book) & started The Choice by Nicholas Sparks, which I think I will enjoy.l
