I just finished reading High Noon by Nora Roberts. I really liked it. Of course I like pretty much all her books except the older romance stuff.

I'm a mystery-kinda gal and just finished re-reading P.D. James "A Taste for Death" and "Devices and Desires." Got "The Private Patient" for Christmas, which reminded me of how much I love James' writing. Also love Ruth Rendell (Inspector Wexford series) and Anne Perry (Thomas Pitt and/or William Monk). I met Perry last year and she was a lovely person to her fans. On the non-mystery side, I love Jan Karon and the Fr. Timothy series, and political biographies. Currently re-reading "The Family" by Kitty Kelly.

Queen Colleen

I really liked The Host, it took a while for it to get real good though.

Finished A Good Woman by Danielle Steel (Yes that quick lol) and its a very good book, a definite read if you like her or are remotely interested in the Titanic and the war that took place not long after it German against everyone pretty much.

I'm reading a vampire book right now by Kate Mcalister Zen adn something...can't remember the title but its pretty good. After reading a serious book like the Danielle Steel one I need something lighthearted and this fits the bill.

I am re-reading 2 books right now, "Prayer for Owen Meany" by John Irving (upstairs) and "Something Borrowed" by Emily Giffin (downstairs). I hate having to run up and down stairs when I need something to read!

I loved A Prayer for Owen Meany...one of my favorites. "Unspeakable outrage!"

I just finished The Mermaid Chair by Sue Monk Kidd. I thought it was excellent and it actually brought me to tears once. This is not an easy feat!

Plus, it's a quick easy read which is always welcome since I have 4 kids. :)

I'm finally getting to read "The Christmas Sweater" by Glenn Beck. I wanted to read it all during the Christmas season, but just now got to. It's good.

i am reading this now... thought it was sort of slow but getting better... sotry line is not better but is picking up.... don't want to say too much

my mom says it is really good though...

Just finishe Breaking Dawn, again. Thinking of starting the Kathy Reichs, Temperence Brennan series. Any good?

Tempting Fate by Carla Neggers

I have really enjoyed all of her books that I have read so far.

I'm currently reading "Scarpetta" by Patricia Cornwell -- I'm enjoying it, she seems to be getting back on the right track.

Library just notified me that they're holding the new John Grisham for me, so that'll be next.

I am thoroughly enjoying A Thousand Splendid Suns right now. What completely blowed my mind is that this book is pretty much set in present day time. :guilty:

Just finished The Kite Runner. So, so sad, and unfortunately, pretty accurate I'm afaid.

Am taking a break from Hosseini and reading something completely different:
Into Thin Air, by Jon Krakauer. Our son read it for his junior high book club, and I always wanted to try it.

I'm thinking of reading A Thousand Spendid Suns after that, though. How do you like it? Does it have the same characters as Kite Runner?

Not the same characters. A very good book. Very heart wrenching at times, just like The Kite Runner.

Does anyone know of books that cover the Kings and Queens of England that are written in fiction? I'm really interested in the chronological order of which king came first ect. I've tried reading some of Elizabeth Chadwicks but she covers most of the Earls and such.

I'm reading, The Secret Adversary, by Agatha Christie. I've been on a roll with her novels.

Are you thinking of the Phillipa Gregory books?

The Other Bolelyn Girl
The Bolelyn Inheritance
The Constant Princess

Finished A Thousand Splendid Suns last night (great book) & started The Choice by Nicholas Sparks, which I think I will enjoy.l

I just finished The Choice and LOVED it. I ran out to the library last night and got two of his other books. I'll read them all now.
