I just finished The Choice and LOVED it. I ran out to the library last night and got two of his other books. I'll read them all now.
I am really enjoying The Choice. Very quick & easy read but really enjoyable.

Started the first Sookie Stackhouse, Dead beforeDark. Quick reading!

Just finished The House at Riverton. I think I got the idea from here. Really good.

Just finished The Kite Runner. So, so sad, and unfortunately, pretty accurate I'm afaid.

Am taking a break from Hosseini and reading something completely different:
Into Thin Air, by Jon Krakauer. Our son read it for his junior high book club, and I always wanted to try it.

I'm thinking of reading A Thousand Spendid Suns after that, though. How do you like it? Does it have the same characters as Kite Runner?

Thousand Splendid Suns is a bit different. Not the same characters but very well written. IIRC, the focus on Thousand Splendid Suns are female characters.

I just finished Wally Lamb's new one. It is excellent! I still can't believe I read over 700 pages in two days!

I just started "Three Fates" by Nora Roberts. I hope it is a good book.

Like most of Lamb's work, there is so much more than on the surface. Yes, it is about Littleton High School in 1999, but there is so much more going on as well.

If you are looking for a book with Columbine being the front and center plot, you may be disappointed.

Lamb does a great job weaving the past, (recent past and far past) into the current times with a lot of irony and symbolism. It's definetely a journey book, where you see events of the past affect the future and how those events help the characters.

There are many settings: Colorado, Connecticut, a jail, New York/New Jersey in the 1950's

The main characters are very fascinating.

I like the way he uses a lot of research to make all of the characters work together. The characters seem real and interesting, very multi-dimensional.

The Stranger Beside Me, by Ann Rule. I have a tendency to lean toward "not-lighthearted" books.

I am reading The Gargoyle. If you like really good prose with a bit of historical religious overtones to the plot - you will enjoy it. It is also a strange love story, kind of. You have to get past the gory part at the beginning where the main character is burned.

Excellent read. This is one of my favorite books.

Thanks - I actually don't know anything about the book. I just know that I loved his other 2 & had to get this one.

Sounds like I will be pleased with it!

I'm sorry for not doing the legwork and reading back in the thread (I'm at work and have to be stealthy...lol), but would you mind reposting the name of this book? It sounds like one I might enjoy. :)

Great! I loved his other 2 books and I'm on the waiting list at the library for this one. :)
