YEAH!! Good to know!! I hate it when a book starts off good then loses steam and you have to struggle to finish it, all the while hoping that it will get better.

I'm reading "Before I fall" by Lauren Oliver. It's due back at the library this Friday so I'm trying to get through it! I read a little bit during DD nap times and a little at night. I'm used to finishing a book in a day or two. Man, I miss that! After this I'm going to read the Hunger Games as I have heard so many good things about it

I know, I was the same way till I had a my DD. Darn things get in the way of my reading time. :rotfl: I wanna eat, I wanna play, I wanna go to the bathroom. Whine, whine, whine!! :lmao:

I'm about halfway through the new Jodi Picoult book, "House Rules".

Although I always hate the endings to her books, I continuously get sucked in by the characters and this one is no different -- it's fascinating to hear a story from the point of view of somebody with Aspergers Syndrome.

I'm reading it right now too. I hate her "twists" at the end. They usually negate the whole point of the book, as far as I'm concerned. i guess we'll see what happens with this one.

Just finished "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck. For some reason, I have made it to my 43rd year without ever reading anything by Steinbeck. I really enjoyed it!

Next up, "The Red Pyramid" and then "A Lesson Before Dying."

I started Moscow Station around lunch, but then I went to the library and got Dead in the Family, so I'll put Moscow Station on hold for a day or so to finish the new Sookie Stackhouse book.

Recently finished Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum. Great story, loved the characters.

Started The Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows.

Recently read The Help and loved it!
I am slowly reading A Reliable Wife. It's okay.
I just read Montana 1948. I am reading for a class I'll be teaching in fall and really enjoyed it.

I love Steinbeck. There was a period of my life that I devoured his work.

I read a Lesson Before Dying quite some time ago, when it was first published. Must have been almost 20 years ago now! Holy Cow! I was reading it on my way to Ireland. Its funny how you can remember stuff like that. I throughly enjoyed it. While in Ireland I had to buy a book from a second hand bookstore, so in this little hole in the wall place in some small town, I picked up a very worn edition of War and Peace in 3 volumes. I read that on the plane ride home. I didn't get very far!!:rolleyes1 :rotfl2: Someday...Someday I will read it! I still have the books.

Another book I remember reading way back when that I loved was "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien. I need to re-read that one again.

I started "Dead In The Family" today. I have read through all the books in a row, over the last 2 weeks. I find them very entertaining. I can't help but laugh, parts of it are very humorous. I wasn't thrilled with the first 2 but somewhere I started to really like them.

They have turned out to be a nice break from the more thought provoking books I had read just prior.

Finished The Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. I loved it! What a great book!

Started Birdsong: A Novel of Love and War by Sebastian Faulks.

Forbidden Falls by Robin Carr. Like all her books, I really am enjoying it.

I finished Dead in the Family. It was ok. I enjoyed spending the weekend with Sookie and Eric.

I also started Moscow Station. I was hoping that it would be more intriguing, like Child 44, but it was written about true events and the author droned on and on about how weak the American security was in its embassy in Moscow. I gave up on it.

I'm off to book club and to pick up more books.

I finished "The Red Pyramid" yesterday, and it was pretty good!!! Not as good as the Olympian series, but still enjoyable!

Now, I'm on to reading "A Lesson Before Dying." So far, depressing but good!

I've finished Winter's Heart by Robert Jordan. It was as enjoyable as all the rest of the series. After reading the last three books, each all around 800 pages long, I think I will take a little break and read a couple of shorter books. In a couple of weeks I'll pick back up where I left off and get the rest of the series read. I've accumulated about 40 books while reading this series and they keep crying out to me to be read. :rotfl:

I picked up Water for Elephants again last night since I didn't get a chance to start it the last time I took it from the library.

I started it last night and I'm intrigued. I think this one will be a book that I regret having to put down when I have to.

I read this book when we were dealing with putting my grandma in an assisted living facility. It really made me think. Anyway, I loved the book, and I did regret having to put it down!

I liked Water for Elephants- read it last year. Finally got around to reading Eat, Pray, Love. I avoided it for a while since I thought it'd be too religious for me, but I am enjoying it. The portion in India was a little far out for me at times, there were still great parts. Of course, I loved the parts in Italy. Yum! Just starting Indonesia.

I finished "A Lesson Before Dying". It was a really good book. One that made me stop and think. I like those kind of books.

Next up is "A Trip to the Beach." This is a non-fiction book by Melinda and Robert Blanchard. I'm glad to be reading something a bit lighter than the last one!

Started Shelter Me last night, but didn't get too far because my DH kept talking & talking & talking & by the time he was done I was falling asleep!!!

Looking forward to getting farther in to it today/tonight!
