What are you getting your TEEN DD's THis Christmas 2013 thread

That was me! This is at the top of DD's list! Tell me, just how tall is it? 6ft? Yeah, I missed the US tour! They had a show here in NYC, but it was cancelled! I hate standing room only shows too cause I'm short & too old to stand all night

I haven't unfolded him but the website says he is 74 inches, and I believe it! The box is flat and HUGE, can't wait to try to wrap it. He is glorious

So, DD(15) had some updates and changes to her list. I'm going to just post what I got for her so far. Maybe then some of you wondeful people here can help me cause I feel like I need one big or wow gift!

*These tees were bought at Hot Topic for $10 each and FYE for buy one get one free (one tee was $20) the sweat shirt & long sleeve tee was purchased at Hot Topic and wasn't on sale, but they had a special $10 every $30 future purchase. Also, FYE had $10 for every $30 spent to use on a future purchase.

So, as you can see no big or wow gift! I'm debating on wether or not I will get that Loki stand up she wants. Also, she had 2 more graphic novels on her list and some gift cards she wanted, but I have to leave some stuff for family members to get! There isn't any concerts with tickets for sale right now that she wanted to go to so I'm at a loss.

I don't think 1D will be touring the US in 2014. I think they will be in Europe and Latin America.

They are touring the US in 2014! Tickets go on sale Saturday.

Surprise busted! We got DD16 tickets last week during the citi presale and we were going to give them as xmas presents but she forced us to have to tell her!

She knew about the facebook presale and ran home from school and got on ticketmaster. She was yelling at me from the den- "Mom, hurry up! They've got them! We didn't miss out!"

They were good seats and decently priced and so far we've missed out on tickets for Taylor Swift and 1D this year. She has her own money now that she works and she has saved almost every penny of it since April so I had no good reason for not buying them.

The tickets that were coming up were in the T and W section and sections 113 and 125.

I quick grabbed a piece of paper and folded it in half and wrote What about section K? on the outside. And You've got tickets! Merry Christmas! on the inside.

Dh and I called her into the family room and told her we just couldn't swing it this time. She was crying and saying she would spend her own money. She ran from the room. We had to call her back into the family room and I held out the paper to her. She read it and screamed and ran off and then came back to hug us and thank us. And then ran off again to tell her friends.

Thanks to this thread, I got way to many ideas lol! DD is getting the Christmas of her dreams! Although, I think I say/think that every year! I really did love this thread though!

I am just about finished with my shopping for my daughter. She was so hard to buy for this year because everything she wants is way expensive!

She is getting:

NorthFace Denali jacket (thanks to whoever shared the Macy's sale code!)
boots
hair bubble wand thing
a sweater from Old Navy she has been wanting
a pair of mocassins she picked out
slippers
a subscription to Netflix

What she wants but isn't getting:
an iphone (planning on getting it for her 18th birthday in June)
Mac laptop (planning on it being her graduation present)

What I wanted to get her but she thinks is stupid :
new robe
new backpack

She will be going to college next fall and so I was thinking those things would be useful but she nixed that idea. Not going to waste my money if she isn't going to like them!

Just need to get some stocking stuffers (i.e. gift cards most likely, perfume, etc) and I'm done!

your list made me smile! My DD14 still has a soft spot for pokemon and a traditional lego Christmas set! I am going to check out hot topic - her music tastes are all over the map so maybe something neat is there. I got my DD the Demi book as well....she likes the thought a day type of books...

Aw she must have been thrilled! I am biting my lip not to tell my DD. We went to the Pgh show in 2013 and she was disappointed Pgh isn't on the 2014 tour but Detroit is....and I got tix for her and a friend! I have to hold them till Feb. birthday b//c I way overspent at Christmas!!! hope I can last!!!!!

So far she is getting a giant chocolate bar, a couple movies, a magazine subscription, a few books and a Rue21 giftcard. She already has an Iphone, Uggs, Sperrys, is getting an Ipad from her mom. When she is here she pretty much just plays on her phone so I'm lacking ideas. Any help???

Last Christmas, I got my stepdaughter a pair of earbuds in her favorite color, a stylus for her ipad/iphone, a cute iphone case in her favorite color, and an itunes giftcard as one of her gifts. she really liked it.

Hot Topic is great, they have tees with all type of bands/music/movies/tv shows. Also, they have a ton of Disney stuff and Nightmare before Xmas stuff too!

How about a new case for her iPhone, or better yet, a custom one? DD's friend had a case made for my DD that she custom made with pics of her favorite band. DD went crazy for it.

Or keep it simple & get an iTunes card.

A case for the iPad? That would be more than $25 though.

I love etsy! My DD15 loves Percy Jackson, Potter, Hunger Games and there is a seller on etsy who takes the actual pages of the novels and wraps them around pencils and seals it. So cool. I got her Percy last Christmas and she loved these things. All the kids at school thought they were super cool. So this year I got her the hunger games one. Set of 7 I think is around 10.00 or so> Fully functional pencils....I also found a custom iphone case designed like Ed Scheerans guitar, who she adores. So this will be a huge hit...So take a passion of hers and think outside the box on it....check out www.etsy.com

Etsy is awesome for fangirls, but often the stuff comes from overseas, so shipping time can be an issue. A lot of my dd's gifts the last two years have come from Etsy. I am currently waiting on a purse shipped from Poland LOL.
