What are you getting your TEEN DD's THis Christmas 2013 thread

So far the only thing my dd17 has asked for is a Michael Kors watch. Since we're going to Disney the first week of December, that's part of our Christmas gift. She's going on a school trip to Italy in February and that is counting as part of her Christmas gift as well. Plus, she's going to Disney again in April with her HS band. With all that traveling, she'll need some new clothes and spending money.

We don't plan on getting her much else!

subbing! DD 12 will be 13 a week before Christmas. Other than clothes she hasn't asked for much. As a birthday gift, I am making her a envelope inviting her to lunch with an imagineer and just mom ( a bonus, as I am due yesterday with a baby brother) during our January trip! This year I am at a total loss for everyone. I literally NEVER have a problem shopping or coming up with gift ideas! We have all the technology one could need, a WDW trip planned and paid for, a happy house that we just moved into and let the kids decorate their new rooms, so idk what else to get! I hate spending money on silly stuff, but i'm sure at the end of Black Friday, I will have spent more than I wanted to

Can anyone tell me where I can get the ELF Disney Villain make up? DD has dabbled a bit in make up, and it might be a nice surprise ? I know target sells that brand, but not sure if they are carrying the Disney stuff?

I'm enjoying reading the responses. I'm trying to make this a budget Christmas, but my DD is also going to college in the fall and really needs a new laptop. Besides that I have already bought Disney Infinity for the kids to share. Typically if they get something big like a laptop they don't get much else. I have gotten her some nail tools for her stocking, too. Besides that, I don't know. Does anyone have any suggestions of other things she could use in college?

My DS19 is a sophomore this year and a couple things he needs for college that we didn't think about at first

a good lock for his bike
a used bike (didn't want to send his good bike to school in case it was stolen)
a lap desk
extra earbuds (they seem to lose them)

I THINK Walgreens carries the ELF Disney make up. I am going to check for that as well. I hear you on the WHAT to get. DD14 redid her bedroom over summer - new paint, furniture, bedding, bean bags etc etc. and redid the other room she uses for a "hang out room". They are beautiful and fully decorated. All the technology we need too and my June trip IS NOT paid for yet so I too say why buy useless stuff??? I downloaded an app on my phone called SANTAS BAG and I love this. I can track everyones presents, set a budget which honestly is something I have never done before and that helps me see WHAT I have bought and is this one little thing extra necessary etc?

I am bringing a friend for DD this summer to WDW and that is going to turn into quite an expense being a party of 4.

DD loves converse and Delias has cute different design ones, ordered those. Got the custom guitar punch pik set on amazon and I am asking relatives to get her things she actually asked for instead of surprise gifts. This then helps me NOT to have get some of the things she asked for.....

There is a really neat series out that DD loves Legend series. New book is CHAMPION. Trilogy series. Remind you of Hunger Games, etc. - so I preordered that today as well.

Oh hai PA twin daughter! LOL! Yes, we just moved and DD got a brand new room! and it is AWESOME! It was our you're the big kid, we know you're not thrilled about a baby brother but oh well suck it up gift LOL! Her brother also got his own room, for now anyway, until baby can share with him later on. Which also got a number of very cool furniture pieces.


Thanks for the book idea, right up my dd alley! and she is also a lover of Delias and converse. That is about the only thing I know i'll do right is shoes and clothes lol! D desperately wants the new Iphone, but it's not time for her upgrade, and while i love a good shock value and happy face, I am not paying double the price for something I get annoyed with her having as it is lol!

Ugh! I am so far behind. Thank you all for the ideas but now I feel like a slug!

DDs have asked for Boston Bruins tickets - but I can't really figure out a time we could go to a game because the girls are playing hockey every weekend. They have also asked for a Bruins jersey. I am not sure when they would ever wear it, but they have been asking for a while, so I will probably get that.

I am also thinking about a new North Face jacket, new Uggs and some clothing gift cards.

They have almost everything under the sun that they need and want, so it is getting harder and harder to buy for them.

I looked it up online and saw it was only available at Walgreens. I don't know if its a limited time thing. My store's display was practically empty.

Thank you to everyone who told me about the Villain make up! I was able to snag the last one of each at Walgreens today! The only one they didn't have was the Evil Queen, which of course is the one I wanted most! However, I have family and friends on it! I was ecstatic to find the nail polish too! I think this is going to be a super fun gift form her otherwise not so happy with make up mom! Hope I don't regret it

...... a waterproof Bluetooth speaker for the shower and a nice speaker for her room (she wants Beats or Bose, but I think they are both about $200).

I'm looking for decent speakers too...Anyone have a suggestion for an affordable quality option???

What kind of wallet are you getting? DD could use a wallet or a wristlet, and it would be a fun way to give the gift cards, but I want to give her one that she would think is cool, but I don't want to ask her. I won't have a lot of surprises for her as it is.

I did this last year. I got my DD 14 an ed hardy wallet on overstock.com and FILLED it with gift cards - from her favorite stores plus local movie theater, starbucks, frozen yogurt, etc.... She loved it.

Also got her a jewelry armoire, and filled it with (inexpensive) jewelry.

She was a happy girl.

We had no luck either.

So far for DD 18 we have a few Snow White items.

We have several Walgreens by our house and the first one I went to had 3 boxes of makeup set per villain. I couldn't find them in the makeup section, so when I asked the cashier she found them for me. They were right below the cashier booth (not the main cashier by the door) next to the makeup section.

Added later. I got 2 boxes (evil queen and maleficiant) for DD13. I checked Amazon and they had them for $47 each. Walgreens had them for $9.99. I will check other Walgreens. Ours had a lot of nail polish box sets too.

We actually have one of these, we got lucky and stumbled upon one at Target of all places, but that was a long time ago.
