What are the showers like??

What are the showers like in the Comfort Stations?? Are they like college dorm styles?? Do they have doors or just curtains?? Do people walk to the showers in a robe or fully clothed, etc?? I know, silly questions, just want to make sure I'm prepared and don't make a total fool of myself when trekking to the showers!!

They are college dorm style, but a lot nicer. (At least from my ancient dorm when I was in school).

They are individual stalls with a locking door. In front there is a small changing area with a bench and a couple of hooks, then a curtain, then the shower area.

For me personally, I take my shower at night, so walk to the shower fully dressed. (I do go ahead and change into shower shoes and shuck my, belt, wallet, watch, hat, cell phone, etc. and leave those in the camper). I have my toiletries/towel, etc. and sleep clothes in a book bag that I carry with me. My sleep clothes are shorts and a thick t-shirt that I'm very comfortable wearing in public (or sweats if it's cold).

When I get back to the campsite, the towel gets hung up on the awning, and my clothes go in the dirty clothes hamper.

When I was tent camping and needed to use the comfort station first thing in the morning, I would go ahead and load my bookbag with what I was wearing the next day the night before, so on that first run to the comfort station, I could easily grab that bookbag, and then would go over to the shower side and get dressed.

Thank You so much for the replies!! This is our first time vacationing in our RV, and everyone on the DISboards has been more than helpful!!

If you choose to go in your bathrobe, please either wear something under it or keep it closed tight. We once saw someone walking in a bathrobe, and after a big wind, it was evident that there was nothing under it but what God gave him!!! So please be careful.

I usually walk there in my jammies, as do my kids. I sleep in pajama pants and a tshirt, sometimes a cami. I do buy us all new pajamas for the trip though, don't want to be seen in holey ones now do ya'. You will get to see what everyone else sleeps in though, so be prepared.

I bring a shower tote for each person. They grab that, their clothes for the day and their towel.

BTW, the hot water supply is endless.

As far as clothing anything goes and I've seen people running around between trailers where obviously related families are staying and people to/from the comfort station in P.J.'s of every description. Camping is sort of family experience and if you're concerned about someone seeing you in your P.J.'s you're not in a camping friendly place. The is not just at WDW, I see it everywhere in KOA's.
Several days ago a family ... Mom Dad, one married daughter and hubby and an unmarried son camped next and across from us ... TWO SITES. The mom and daughter went back and forth in the morning between the MH and trailer in their P.J.'s multiple times carrying various little things that they evidently needed. It was sort of cute to see since it was so natural in what you would see inside one's home in the morning.

I'm a big jogging shorts/pants person and what I do for a shower is just wear the jogging pants and T-shirt, no undies to the shower. I take all the essentials in a grocery plastic bag or in this case a WDW shopping bag. I shower and put on the bottoms that will go in the hamper when I get back to the trailer (yes they are dirty, but they help absorb any missed drying and you're not going to get that dirty in a minute or two). Being of the male gender I simply put the towel around my shoulders till I get back to the trailer. Now if it's 32 deg out, out comes the 30 year old ratty terry cloth bathrobe and the sprints are on to/from the showers.

OK, the first part is too much info.

The second part is What a picture you painted. Just hope you have something on under the bathrobe.

And yes, the pj thing is at all campgrounds I have been to. If the place would not let me run to the bathhouse in my pj's, I probably don't want to stay there.

I think the comfort stations are the nicest I have seen and the AC is fabulous in the summer. One nice thing in particular, is there is a dry place to hang your clothes outside your shower proper. (The second picture is taken from that area -- looking into the shower itself.
p.s. -- I totally wore my jammies from my campsite to and from the comfort station.

These comfort stations are wonderful!!!! Clean and spacious and the best I have ever seen in a campground! Jammies/robes are perfectly acceptable. Just don't forget your towel~I did that TWICE while we were there last!
