What and when is your next vacation

California: Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Francisco, in June.
I think you need to re-schedule slightly. We land in L.A. on April 4 and will head straight to San Francisco for 2 days then down the PCH to Monterey for a night, San Diego for 2 nights and then back to L.A. for two nights at Hermosa Beach. Meet us in Monterey and you can hang with me while DH plays Pebble Beach! :woohoo:(Yes, I'm every bit as much fun as you've always imagined!!)

We are starting at Universal.
You're going to be spoiled at the beginning of your trip. It's good you have 7 nights at Disney. Take it slow at Universal. You're going to feel like royalty. Take advantage of every minute of it. :cloud9: You'll need that energy you saved up to use at WDW. :p You can have as much fun at one set of parks as the other. Prepare the family to not expect the PBR, onsite experience at WDW. They won't be the same, but if you go to both parks with realistic expectations, you'll have a fantastic trip.

I am hoping somewhere in Europe end of 2019 - it is forever away but we are pretty full on this year and most of next. I might be able to squeeze a long weekend away on home soil in the meantime though.

Yes, Low Key, what’s your favourite place to stay in Vegas? We’ve only been once and stayed at the Bellagio. I didn’t really like it. I suppose if we’d splurged and got a fountain view room I would have liked it more. THEY gave us a terrible smelling room at the very end of a very long hallway. We’re currently on vacation on Maui to answer your question.

Can't reschedule the June trip because part of it is for DD's college graduation. But there's no reason I can't make two trips to California!!

Are you driving between all those locations? You'll be spending much of your vacation in the car!!

Is Disneyland included in your itinerary?

We are going on a cruise to Alaska in May. I also booked a Christmas Market river cruise along the Danube River for December 2019--long ways away, but I've never been to Europe and it looks awesome so I'm already excited about it. We'll add a few days on each end (Budapest and either Prague or Munich). :cloud9:

Yep, we're driving. :drive: This vacation is DH's pick - he love's him some road trip! And remember, here in the vast, barren north, drives of 3, 4, 5 or even 8 hours are quite routine.

The round at Pebble Beach (a long-time ambition of his) is a little quid pro quo for him so graciously having climbed up Mt. Vesuvius with me when we were in Italy last year. I think we're also going to see Texas play Oakland while we're in San Francisco and I did have a DLR day planned but with the crowd calendar saying 8-9/10 on both days we have available, I'm getting cold feet. :scared: I sure would like to get one more ride in on Heimlich's Chew Chew before it's gone forever though. ;)

Lucky you. I'd love to take this trip.

I just told my husband we need to plan a vacation soon. We just got back from a short Vegas trip last week but I'm ready for a REAL vacation, which we haven't done in a couple of years. We've been fortunate to take quite a few weekend trips but it's just not the same.

Sadly, nothing planned for the foreseeable future. I'm not counting a weekend in DC to see dd at school. Our dog needed $6000 worth of surgery in January so that ate our vacation funds. I may take a weekend trip with dd over the summer but that's about it. That's ok, dd will be studying abroad next summer and we plan to visit so I'll skip this year for that.

I hope everyone has fun on their trips.

ohh Canada, (see what I did there) yes that would make a vacation to Fla a huge deal, especially the west coast, I bet your sooo excited

I hear music!

Lots on the docket for this summer. DH is going to a conference in Dresden, Germany in June. He'll tour in Berlin for a few days, spend 6 days in Dresden, then back to Berlin for a few more days. Unfortunately I cannot go with him due to obligations at my new job, which is sad as his job is paying for his trip- I'd have free accommodations if I could go... but I can't. :sad2:

Next vacation is in late July to DC. DH and I are meeting up with DD24 and her boyfriend to see the Eagles and James Taylor. :rockband: There are 2 other couples we hang with who are going also, although we all made our plans separately; none of the couples knew the others were going until about a week ago.

Vacation after that is in late August. DD and I are going to Disney World, staying at ASMusic, for 6 nights! :earsgirl: princess: :maleficen:ccat: Yes, I know we'll melt, but we've been in August before so know what to expect. Unfortunately we are both tied to public school/university schedules, so summer is STILL the only time we can vacation together. SOME DAY we are going in November when the weather is amazing, the crowds are less overwhelming, and we can do the Food&Wine festival (and as long as I'm dreaming, we'll split-stay at Boardwalk Villas/AKL savanna view!).

I bet you are! If you ever visit the east coast of Canada or the US and decide to go to Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor, let me know and we'll have a little DISmeet!!

Love Bar Harbor. We are going the last week of September and first week of October. There are some amazing trails there with wonderful views.
