My DD is almost 7 and DS will turn 4 when we're there in 2 1/2 weeks I think we'll use a stroller, more as if they get tired they can use it kind of thing. And for bags.
I'd get him medically evaluated. A kid that old who whines about having to walk either has some kind of medical issue or needs to be told to shut the hell up. I'm thinking he may have a foot problem or some kind of medical issue.I guess I am a sucker lol. DS is now 8. When we went last summer (he was 7 then) he still had a stroller. Don't get me wrong, I tried to make him walk, but there is a point at which the whining about the walking makes the trip miserable for both him, and the rest of us, so on the 2nd day of the trip, I got the stroller.
The previous year, DD's friend came along. She was 15, and had never done Disney World. A couple of days into the trip the shoes which she said were plenty comfortable enough for walking, had created some serious blisters on her feet. We got her fixed up with some mole skin, but she was pretty miserable. I wound up with her riding in the stroller, and my son on her lap
That was a *bit* more than 50 lbs I was pushing around
Now, at 8 years old, I firmly believe that my son is getting too old to be riding in a stroller, plus I've got a ruptured disc in my back, and pushing him around isn't getting any easier. I am HOPING that this year we will manage to ween him off it.

Mom, you cannot be pushing around an 8 year old with your ruptured disk!! Nor a 15 year old!
You are TOO KIND!
Tell these people to walk or stay in the room. No weaning, no injuring yourself. NO MORE PUSHING LARGE PEOPLE AROUND!
He is way too old to be weaned into walking. Just tell him. I'd do it before you leave. "You are 8 years old. Either you walk or you don't go. I will not push you. I couldn't if I wanted to - my back hurts. So go to your room, think it over, make a decision. Do you want to go to parks and walk or do you want to stay in the room? I have to know so I know how many tickets to buy."
If this fails, insist on putting him in a stroller when picking him up from school. That ought to end his desire to ride in strollers.
The fact that your child wants to be pushed is not a good enough reason to do further damage to your back!!!
Sorry...I know it's really none of my business. I truly don't care if people want to push around large people in strollers. But, my God, you shouldn't be injuring yourself. That's crazy!
Just tell me to shut up and mind my own beezwax.![]()
There are so many variables, it's really impossible to pin an age on the time to stop using one.
Its so dependent upon your touring style, the child's ability to hold up under the rigors of theme park visits, safety, and all the other reasons previously stated. If you aren't sure, just test the waters by having them try walking but bring along an umbrella stroller or be prepared to grab a rental if needed.
There are no hard & fast answers to your question. I recommend doing whatever makes for the maximum enjoyment of all in your party.
