What age..no more stroller

Bring the stroller to Florida and leave it in your room the first day - see how it goes and make your decision for the rest of the trip after that. With all of the stopping for rides, shows, snacks and meals my 2.75 year old had no problems going without a stroller - most days he was racing us to the buses at the end of the day!

I actually think this is great advice. That way if you don't need it, you don't have to lug it around. But if you do, you can always rent a stroller for that day and thing bring your own in the rest of the time.

I also want to comment about how TW seems to think they can judge who and who doesn't really "need" a stroller just by looking at them. I may have mentioned this earlier in this thread, but I will mention it again.

One trip to WDW was spent with my sis and her family, which include 2 girls who are about 5yrs apart in age. The older daughter, who was around 10 at the time, did spend some time in a stroller. Not much at all, but I know in Epcot she hopped in. She had been to the Dr before our trip because she was having such severe leg pain. It turned out to be only growing pains, and apparently they were so bad because she was so small. There was a large chunk of time where she was wearing the same size clothes as her younger sister, she was so small. Anyway, our decision was to let her ride in the stroller when her legs were bothering her. You would have thought to look at her that she was fine, and you would have seen her running around too. However there were times she was in pain and she could either ride in the stroller, or the rest of the family would stop what they were doing so she could rest. As it is OUR family and OUR decison to make, we chose to let her hop in the stroller for a while. I'm sure to TW that was a horrible decision and made us all bad adults, because she probably looked way too old for a stroller. However on OUR vacations we make the rules for OUR family members, and won't let anyone shame us into making decisions that would be bad and hurtful for our family members.

If your 4yr old doesn't need a stroller in the parks, that is great. All kids are not the same and don't all have the same endurance, or have to deal with the same physical issues. The lack of stroller use does not make one family better than another, or put them up on a pedestal where they have the right to judge others for making a different decision.

Not sure why people take these types of questions to such an elevated level. It's pretty pathetic.

I agree 100%! And it still just baffles me why people have such strong opinions of when a child should/shouldnt ride in a stroller  Everyone is different and we all parent different...wouldnt it be boring if we were all the same?
