What age did you stop hiding eggs for Easter?

We never did egg hunts at home. We had baskets, and there were often I wrapped candy inside plastic eggs in the basket. I don’t like boiled eggs, but when we were kids Mom would boil a few and allow us to color them before she made deviled eggs for Easter dinner. We still do baskets with candy.

Mine at 11 and 13 will still have an egg hunt at their grandparents. Last year was the first year we did not do one at our house - that was due to the new puppy. The cats always would play with some and that wasn't a problem but the puppy was a whole other level (and she still is lol). They will still get their baskets but those will also be left up somewhere as opposed to by the door like we used to.

When I was younger we never did egg hunts but we would each have 1 or 2 baskets and we would have to find those.

How is this any different from a rabbit filling a basket full of treats, or a fat old man in a red suit coming down the chimney to leave presents and fill a stocking? :rotfl2:
No, *Mom* fills the basket full of treats; it's a gift/treat for the end of Lent. Mom fills stockings, too. My kids have always known that these little things are from their parents (I just happen to be the one who does the shopping for them.)

We don't do the bunny *or* the fat man.

I would say we'd stop doing the "Easter Bunny comes to the house" by the time the youngest was 8. However, we still did a group hunt with friends until all the kids were out of grade school and kids of all ages participated as long as we had it. I have no desire to do an Easter egg hunt with adults and neither did anyone in our group so continuing was never a question. For us, Easter is primarily a religious holiday so there are lots of other ways we are celebrating though and Easter is still a very big deal.

I texted my "kids" earlier today with a time reminder for Easter dinner on Sunday. I mentioned the egg hunt and one of my daughter's responded with "Let the games begin." :rotfl2:

We still do the egg hunts from time to time -- no matter the ages. Who doesn't want to find "The Golden Egg"?!!

I think my daughters were 14 & 16. I asked them if they wanted an Easter basket or an egg hunt. They choose the egg hunt.

My girls are currently 13 & 11 and they both still get baskets (hidden in the house) and we stuff plastic eggs and throw them outside for them to hunt. They both seem to be really into it still so I can imagine we'll be doing this for a while longer lol

My mother still sets up egg hunts when we visit her for Easter. I'm 28, and my brothers are 25 and 24. With all the candy she stuffs inside, I suspect she's just trying to fatten us up enough to keep us from fitting into our cars when we try to go home.

Saw this a little bit ago and it made me think of this thread :rotfl:
