On the flip side… did you know there are hundreds of folks here in Florida on vacation that do not have a clue what a hurricane is, and are confused as to what they should do.

Some want to gout and video tape it. Our friends from the UK don’t have any idea about hurricanes, and they didn’t know what to do.

Good thing they ran into Donna at DTD for she took care of spreading the word, and scaring them all half to death when she explained what they where in for.

Seriously lets think for a moment about all those poor folks that are visiting and don’t know what they are in for, and lets spread the word.

so far US Airways does not let us rebook our flights ( only allowed to rebook to the 5th ). I would fly in two days later to make sure the worst is over and to give some locals the chance to have a hotel room, even it is only for 2 nights ...

Ed you are right most of the people really do not know what is going on.. but some of us come prepared !! i gained 20 extra pounds of weight since my last Florida trip to withstand 120 mph hurricane winds while videotaping flying palmtrees ....

Lisbeth from Belgium should be here now. And I think she usually stays at Ft Wilderness.
That being said, I know any guest in any harms way will be taken good care of, as much as possible.
She is safer with Disney than most local residents.

We have new people in the neighborhood that moved from outer state, and last night when we were putting up shutters they came out and asked...."What are you guys doing??...what are those things for?????
We just started laughing and told them, they started crying!!!!....and running to find theirs in the garage!!!!
Well, there were a few of those neighbors, these particular ones just moved from NY, like two weeks ago!!!!

Airports will close when winds reach 45-50MPH all over Florida!!!

Those nice guests from the UK had just gotten off the plane .....they didn't know anything about the hurricane until they got to DTD....they were asking us what to expect...and we quoted word for word from the Nat. Weather Service....told them to stock their room w/ goodies, and lots of water, and stuff...and not to let the 120 mph winds lasting for 24 hrs ruin their vacation...it was something special we just threw in...and it is FREE a new ride...The Frances.....we just had The Charley...

Well... once we got them resuscitated.. they were just fine...
