I am deeply saddened by this news.

Rich and I locked horns so many times on the debate board that I lost count, usually on the topic of religion. We couldn't have been further apart on this topic, but we seemed to never tire of discussing it. Rich was not subtle about his opinions, but you always knew where you stood with him. I will miss his constant decrying of socialism (it seemed he could work this into anything (LOL)) and his passionate discussion of the topics he chose to debate.

Goodbye my friend. Thanks for so many sprited discussions.

Lisa, please accept my deepest sympathies for you and you family.

I'm very sorry for your and your family's loss. I read many a post by Richyams and he made me smile with his obvious love for OKW and DVC.

He will be missed. Again I'm so sorry.

Richyams was, in my mind, one of the most memorable characters in the DIS. The Muffin Man. The Defender of Capitalism. I think he'd like to be remembered that way. My prayers with his wife, his daughter and his family.

This is the second 42 year-old man I knew who died this summer. It's much too young to leave this Earth.

Please accept my sympathies. I remember Rich from the Debate Board. He certainly had a way fo keeping us going!! Although I didn't always agree with him, I'll remember him fondly.

wow. i am really shocked. like wdwhound and many other here, rich and i did not always agree when it came to debate board issues, but he was definitel part of the debate board "family" and i know he will really be missed.

Richyams certainly had strong beliefs and opinions, and was not at all hesitant about sharing them. Although I did not agree with many of his statements, I appreciated his candor.

I, too, was terribly shocked and saddened by his passing.
