We've Bounced Back like Tigger SB09 TR NEW 9/11 CLOSING TIME....

Hey Scrappie!
Looks like you all had a WONDERFUL day in EPCOT! Your pictures are breautiful. I love the ones of the children up close! :)

Continuation of Day 3)…at Epcot

So pretty much since we have arrived at Disney and the pin lanyard went around Michael’s neck it’s been all about….

When are we going to DTD and buy some pins???!!!!

And today was no exception it was actually becoming an obsession, and if DH & I didn’t deliver on those trading pins soon….trouble would be a brewing. Now this is no tantrum of sorts, it’s classic HFA brain on “go-mode” he has pin trading on the brain and it can not settle down till we are doing it.

At this point of our touring day, we were getting tired and wanting/needing to go, earlier in the day I debated on running the older kids over to DTD and do a little shopping but now it was getting late and thought it would be best to just call it a night once back at CSR. However I knew we couldn’t go another minute w/out those PINS!!!!!!

I like the MouseGears store, but not w/ 4 kids….KWIM? so luckily Grandparents to the rescue and Matt and I went in alone.

Our shopping agenda:

Look for a WDW sweatshirt for me that I saw in the gift shop at Panchitos but in white and another guest in pink….pink good, white scary!

A WDW sweatshirt for Margaret, she doesn’t have one and I’d like it to be hooded, zip up and large enough to fit now but can use next year too.

A Tink Messenger style bag for Aldine as an early birthday present from Mom and Dad. (OH BTW we bought Michael his early b-day present too today, while I was dealing w/ diaper control DH bought him this)

100_2955.jpg

He really wanted it!

And the PINS but of course (you may remember I forgot to do a grab bag order online before we came)

So how did we do?

We toured the store a bit and found my sweatshirt yay! And I just love it, I wore it there and now all the time at home too.

100_2975.jpg

And then we circled around quite a bit looking….

Decided (and after CM confirmation) that dropping a very scary $60 on 2 boxed sets of pins was the way to go w/ getting some reasonable and useable trading pins. We bought Michael a Toy Story Mania prize set ( 8 pins he traded 7 of the 8) and split a Disney baby face set btwn the girls.

Then while in line DH managed to find a few sweatshirt options for Margaret we didn’t notice before and we got this one…

It is so cute! I love it!

And he found the BAG! :woohoo:

100_2942.jpg

it was exactly what Aldine was looking and hoping for, she used it the remainder of the trip for her things and helped carry a few of Michael’s things too and has used it a few times at home. I’m sure during summer outings it will get a lot of use.

So we spent our hefty tab but came away w/ some great gifts and practical goodies! Now would this be are only trip to MouseGears? :confused3

We kept the bags w/ us and met back up w/ everyone else. Michael was thrilled w/ his pins…trading!!!!! Tomorrow I promise!

Now it was time to leave, but GMom wanted to see if we could go on SSE next, and I thought why not it’s on the way out we can see how long the wait is and see how it goes.

Well it didn’t go quite that easy. I tell DH and we get up to the Globe and I stop w/ Michael, Mae and Margaret in the stroller as he checks the wait time.

5 minutes….sounds good to me!

But not to Michael eek! And then Mae

Michael just lost it! I did not communicate to him clear enough we were going to check out the line and maybe go on SSE on the way out. He thought we were going back to CSR and that was what we should be doing. He was mad, confused and frustrated.

He started to run off and DH had to go restrain him and try and calm him down and reason w/ him about this minor change in plans and it would be ok.

Now I waved my folks and Aldine to go get in line and then tried to tell Mae we are going on this ride inside the globe. But she became nervous and scared (she’d never been on it and thought it was a coaster, she was probably tired too so that didn’t help either.)

So here are DH and I w/ 3 kids all requiring assistance…not the best parent move at the end of our day. I’m about to put in the towel so to speak and felt it was just not worth it. But DH signals to me from afar let’s go!

Ok we are going and I’m trying to carry and drag both Mae and Margaret…I catch up to Matt and Michael who has settled down and is willing to go on the ride now that he understands what is the plan…..good transition and flexibility!:thumbsup2

DH gets some CM to let us line jump….to try and catch up to my parents and Aldine, we just missed them by like 2 cars and luckily no one got mad at us for cutting.

In the end we had a great ride and you know what! Michael now says

“this is one of my new favorite rides!” “It’s all about language and I love language…cool, can we go again….but not today.”

Of course!

Whew! Probable disaster converted into a remarkable memory.

Here are some pictures from the ride and my snapshots of Mae and I in cyberspace world…this was very cool to me as I had not been on SSE since probably 1998.

Yikes - good save at SSE! :thumbsup2 I like how you said, "Now this is no tantrum of sorts, it’s classic HFA brain on “go-mode” he has pin trading on the brain and it can not settle down till we are doing it."

I know EXACTLY what you mean about HFA brain on "go-mode"!! That's what happens with Alex in the update that I am currently working on - I might just have to steal that phrase!!

I love that sweatshirt of yours!!! A new design for Disney, one that I hope is still there in November. I'm glad that everything worked out in the end and that Michael loved the SSE! I have seen that Mickey Gnome in another persons's TR, and I would LOVE to have one of those! I was told that they were only there for F&G, so perhaps I'll have to plan a trip during that time!:thumbsup2 The trip is going great so far, I will wait patiently for the next update!:flower3:

Wow, looks like you had a busy day at Epcot!

I love those windows with the Beauty & the Beast scenes!

Oooh, I like this!! :thumbsup2

Ah, that rigidity can be so difficult to anticipate sometimes, I know! Billy is like that too, he likes to do things when he wants and has a hard time delaying gratification or deviating from the plan.

Good job, Daddy, getting him back on track!!

Hey there!
I love the purchases!!! Everything is sooo cute! I am glad the Michael ended up enjoying the ride!!! :goodvibes

feel free....

I've learned from reading other people's reports...it's not all Disney Magic all the time and by sharing the pit's and we dealt helps me remeber for future trips and maybe help someone else.

Yes I was quite thrilled when I saw it and really love it and great way to share some of the magic even back home!

I'm glad that everything worked out in the end and that Michael loved the SSE!

us too!

I hear it now, family we need to go during the F & G in 010....oh sure I want to see the topiaries, but really I want one of those Mickey gnomes! ;)

Wow, looks like you had a busy day at Epcot!

it was busy, but a good day! we saw alot and new stuff at that :thumbsup2

So Hey all....

see my ticker today 5-19-09....it is now exactly 1 year and 6 months (or 18 months) till the next MouseScrapper Family Trip!!!!

:yay::banana::cool1::dance3:

Let me tell you it is beyond hard knowing we are going but can't really do any serious planning this far away...need to pace myself.

But here is one thing we really hope to do while on the trip:

CRTsign.jpg

Margaret's 4th Birthday is our 2nd day at Disney and I'm already crossing my fingers that the Disney pixiedust: Magic will be with me in August of 010 when I can call and make those ADR's

We've never eaten in the castle, yes we've dined w/ Cindy at the GF and this yr w/ her Princess friends in Norway...but the magical allure of my own Princess celebrating her birthday at the castle is just so wonderful! :cloud9:

Back to our bounce back soon....

J-

I loved all the things you picked out shopping.....especially Aldine's bag.

Great update! I must have that hot pink hoodie - was it crazy expensive?:scared1: Love Aldine's bag, Margaret's sweater and Michael's gnome :thumbsup2 I'm glad everything worked out with SSE

I'll add my crossed fingers for you that you're able to eat in the castle on her birthday next year! princess:

Good Morning Julie!

I love MouseGears, but it is TOTALLY overwhelming! Your purchases are awesome! I was so wishy-washy about buying a shirt for myself this trip...I finally decided I wanted a zip-up hoodie and had seen the exact one you bought. Of course I hesitated and by the time I knew I wanted that one, I was not in a place that had it...UGH!!! It's so pretty...I'm glad you got it! :)

Sounds like a great day at Epcot! I'm glad Michael and Mae ended up enjoying SSE. I thought the new additions were pretty cool! Love the pics of you and Mae at the end!

I can't wait to hear about Michael's pin trading adventures! :yay:

Happy 18 months to go! LOL! I just wish I could pin Jeff down to a return trip so I have a time frame to look forward to! :rolleyes1

I had a bit of catching up to do. :rolleyes1

The girls look adorable dressed up as princesses! princess: princess: And love the shots of an empty Epcot. :thumbsup2

Your meal sounds delish!

We all get a bit cranky when we get hot and tired. Sounds like you all worked things out. :goodvibes

That Mickey Head Picture collage your DH made is awesome!!

I loved all the things you picked out shopping.....especially Aldine's bag.

Thanks, she loves it too....I couldn't believe when DH found it...so perfect!

Great update! I must have that hot pink hoodie - was it crazy expensive?:scared1:

$50 so yes expensive but in Disney expensive perspective not too bad...and that was not the most expensive things we ended up w/ on this trip :rolleyes1

I'll add my crossed fingers for you that you're able to eat in the castle on her birthday next year! princess:

Thank you!!!!:goodvibes

I love MouseGears, but it is TOTALLY overwhelming!

not as crazy at WOD though....

I know the feeling, Aldine wanted a Tink sweatshirt herself (same price as mine) and we decided against it since we bought her the bag and a few other small things. But of course once home I just know we should have bought it for her and saved it for next yr's trip. Since the WDW sweatshirt she has now is like 3 yrs old and barely fitting, by next yr Mae should be able to wear it.

Luckily a friend of mine is traveling to the world in just a few days hoping to find it for me. Aldine knows but I siad she can't have it till next yr. We'll see if she can find it and if I can hold off on letting her have it ;)

Love the pics of you and Mae at the end!

like my argyle sweater huh?

Happy 18 months to go! LOL!

Thanks....long way off, but it will get here eventually!

I had a bit of catching up to do. :rolleyes1

no problem bet you are busy...

thank you! it was fun!

I know I love it...get many compliments!

Thanks for reading and saying hi all!:grouphug:

The end of Day 3)

We just got off SSE and I realized Margaret’s diaper was full yet again….gotta like all that water/juice combo she is drinking. Since I don’t want another leak, I go to change her and tell the rest to head over to Our LEGACY titles and I’ll meet them over there….

For those of you that don’t know on the very last day of our 2005 trip to celebrate the twins then 6th b-day we created 2 LAL Titles and now we enjoy looking for them on each trip.

Here are some pictures of the kids having fun playing and just hanging out in our last minutes at EPCOT…

As I recall it was a nice break before heading to the bus and for whatever reasons they all just got the biggest kick out of squeezing themselves between the large tile sections.

Luck had it, the CSR bus was waiting for us and we boarded right away and left shortly afterwards. (OK I think earlier I had posted it was around 4 pm, but my notes here say it was around 3:00 pm when we left the park )

100_2291.jpg

100_2293.jpg

Once back at CSR we headed to our room for some resting. I don’t remember what everyone actually did, but I noted I did some organizing (not surprised huh ;)), probably getting stuff situated for the next park day.

We then left in shifts for dinner at the Pepper Market, Matt, I and the girls went first and then my parents and Michael followed about 20 minutes or so later. I’m not sure what we all got, but my Mom had me take a picture of my Dad’s chicken meal:

100_2296.jpg

Which they let Michael have some as he likes to state” Chicken Legs is my 2nd best food!”

After dinner, Matt and my Dad took the big kids to swim in the quiet pool. I finished straightening up for the next day, adjusted the kids lanyards w/ their new pins (I took a few off too make room), journaled and bathed the little girls. The pool report was good and they had a nice time it wasn’t very crowded at all and the water was nice. Michael even made a friend w/ some other little boy named Hunter. They left for the pool around 7:15 pm and came back a little after 8 pm. They showered up and went to bed around 9 pm.

My final note on day 3) was “now jammies for me and man I hope I can sleep all the way through this time.”

Day 3) Best: Walking thru a pre-opened EPCOT on our way to Norway

princess: Seeing Margaret’s expressions and interactions meeting Aurora

popcorn:: Eating in Morocco

:rockband: My Parents seeing the Drums in Japan

Worst: :headache:Meltdowns and almost failing our KPW mission in Germany

Up NEXT: Start of Day 4) Rain, Rain, Go Away….not a good sign when you have to put the ponchos on before even getting into the park….our DHS Day!

Thanks for reading,

Awww! I'm hoping the :umbrella: made for lighter crowds!

So what is Michael's 1st best food? That chicken looks really tasty!:goodvibes CSR looks great all around, but I hesitate to stay there because of the whole convention center thing. Did you find that it took away from your expierence there, or did you even notice?:confused3

Hoping that the rain didn't deter the trip for too long!

Great update! Isn't it funny what kids find fascinating sometimes??

I love the bus pics...you can just tell how hot and tired everyone is feeling!

My boys LOVE night swims! That's one of the things they were looking forward to the most when we went back this year!

Oh no..rain. :sad2: Looking forward to more! Bring on the Studios! :goodvibes
