We've Bounced Back like Tigger SB09 TR NEW 9/11 CLOSING TIME....

Day 3) Saturday March 28th 2009 EPCOT

Park Plan for the day:

arrive early to Epcot for our pre-opening ADR in Norway

tour the West side of FW and WS

stay till mid afternoon have lunch in park as well

go back to CSR for rest of day/night...swim?

Possible night out for DH and I

I woke up several times in the middle of the night again and finally by 5 am I just couldn't fall back to sleep, man I hope this stops soon....by 6:15 am I just got up. Everyone else got up btwn 6:30 and 7 am. We got washed up and dressed and were ready to go. We left the room for the Epcot bus I think around 7:30 am (a little later I determined then we should have), we were on the bus a short 10 minutes later:

Waiting for the bus...

Are you ready Josefina?

Time to get off...

100_2158.jpg

100_2159.jpg

and then quickly over to the park.

100_2161.jpg

100_2162.jpg

Once inside we stopped to take a few pictures in the front...how perfect that the front Flower and Garden Festival Themed Topiary garden was the Princesses....

100_2165.jpg

100_2170.jpg

We then made our way slowly up the empty paths toward Norway stopping to admire this Huge park in all in pre-opening stillness...it was quite nice. I have decided that for sure we need to do at least 1 pre-park opening ADR each trip...it is is such a special treat to take in the beauty of these great places w/out the normal thousands of bodies and noises all around you.

100_2185.jpg

we got up to the line after a lingeringly walk to find quite a big check-in and waiting line...I was a bit worried.

100_2193.jpg

100_2194.jpg

It was probably after 8:30 am now well after our original ADR time...but luckily we did not wait long at all to get checked in or called to our table. Once in line we are escorted to have a meet and greet and picture session w/ Belle first.

100_2198.jpg

100_2199.jpg

Image055.jpg

Image058.jpg

We were told we could have two gift poses because of our group size and later were presented w/ 2 nicely decorated 8 x 10 picture holders w/ our 2 pictures and 4 additional smaller pictures of each shot....Now I'm thinking we have to pay for this little “gift” and figured since they gave us photopass #'s w/ it we shouldn't have to buy it. But when my Mom paid for the bill at the end of the meal they said no really IT IS A GIFT.....

so we were quite floored, as my prior experiences w/ these photo packages were you had to pay for if you wanted it....

now FYI, I was just reading the 2009 UG book from the library to see if there was any new news compared to the 08 book and whether I might want to buy the 010 book later this summer for our next trip or not...to read that The Princess Storybook Meal (and CRT) raised their dining prices and included in it these photo packages in that inflation....

Now I did not know this before and I didn't think the prices seemed that high for a character meal anyways...so my original elation of a free gift has been spoiled a bit but that certainty doesn't take away from the lovely time we had here or a choice not to dine here again or at CRT....

we then were shown our table and we were all pretty hungry by now! I asked if there were any dairy free choices for Margaret but wasn't surprised there wasn't beyond the fruit...I kinda knew that already. Oh well she was so distracted by all the lovely Princesses coming to see her she barely ate anyways.

100_2203.jpg

I tried to go right up to the buffet to get her and Michael something to eat (he was ready right now) but was told we had to wait for our server...???

The CM server was quick and took our drink order then we started to get food...just as quickly came the Princesses. As each came DH was on camera duty as I tried to video tape and keep track of the autograph books, plus a special Princess postcard we were getting signed for the same friend who is having a baby...it was a little chaotic doing all this and trying to gulp down food in the proces...DH was a bit tired in the end. But where else could you see 5 Princesses in under an hour?

Margaret had so much fun seeing all these pretty ladies, especially the 1st one, Aurora and as you can see in the picture below it was like she was showing her on her costume saying “It's You!”

100_2205.jpg

100_2207.jpg

100_2210.jpg

We saw Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White (complete w/ her squeaky little voice which I thought was just too cute for words!) and “human” Ariel.

We took pictures w/ the kids, especially Margaret and each Princess took a picture w/ my Mom still the b-day girl....

Here you go a parade of Beauty:

100_2211.jpg

100_2213.jpg

100_2215.jpg

100_2219.jpg

100_2220.jpg

We ate too from the buffet (sorry no food porn) selections of fresh fruit, cold cut salmon (which Michael & my Dad enjoyed) and various cold pastries, plus 2 family style trays of hot food a combination of bacon (YUM!) sausage, eggs (which were equally good) and a cheesy potato casserole. Even in the craziness of the meal I thought all the food was nice, and fresh...can't complain at all. I know sometimes these character buffets can get a bad wrap...but IMHO you are really coming to see the Characters not a pleasant relaxing meal....

I'd recommend it to anyone you has some Princess loving children in their midst.

So we are done eating and took a quick restroom break and headed off to FW and Soarin to begin our official day in EPCOT! BTW people were still lined up coming in to eat, even more than before...it sure pays to get those rise and shine ADR's...

Up NEXT: more of Day 3) smelling the oranges....
thanks for reading,

So most of you know I've been  and spent my Mother's day in bed....now I'm sure we'd all like that, but not coughing and feeling like carp KWIM?

but thanks to a GREAT DH and 4 wonderful children, it was a very nice day after all.

On the Saturday before DH took the kids on errands and left me to rest ( I'm sure I was Dising ;) ) and later that afternoon I was suprised w/ all this loving work:

and then on Mother's Day I was presented w/ this wonderful surprise gift!

100_3233.jpg

100_3238.jpg

DH had cut out the background and printed and trimmed all the pictures to be included. I was quite impressed...I had better start thinking about Father's Day

It turned out to be a very memorable and special day.

Awwww! I LOVE all the Princess pictures! Being the only princess in my house I miss out on all the girly princess photo ops. :sad2:

The girls are adorable in their princess dresses and they look like they had a blast at breakfast! Good to see that Michael was a good sport! :thumbsup2

I agree about the empty park. We did two late EMH's this year, MK and Epcot, and it really is a different experience when the walkways are empty and you can actually HEAR the background music!

Your Mother's Day gift is amazing! (Both the flowers and the photo collage!) I happen to HATE gardening...love the flowers, hate the work...so do you think your crew would take a road trip and pretty up my house?? ;) You truly are a blessed mommy!

On to Epcot...my FAVORITE!! Can't wait to hear about your adventures...glad you're feeling better! :)

Oh the girls look adorable in their dresses! It looks like they had a ball eating there! :cutie:

But..I do have to say...Ariel wasn't looking too good! :rolleyes1

Aw, that is such a cute/clever Mother's Day present!!!

Hi Julie! :wave2:

First off, let me say how glad I am that you're feeling better! It was sweet how the whole family pitched in to make your Mother's Day so special (and colorful!!)

I love the picture (above) with Margaret and Aurora.... so little-girl sweet! :cutie:

Tween-princess Aldine looked lovely with her tiara and Belle shirt... it must be hard for her to feel like she's got one foot in childhood still and the other foot in teen-dom!

Michael was a big help I see pushing the stroller... he seems to have tolerated well... good thing he liked the food!!

And Mae helping Margaret down from her seat on the bus... what a good big sister!

Those topiaries were a perfect fit for your morning, weren't they?! princess: I'm so glad you enjoyed the Princess breakfast! (We did too!)

Wonderful updates! :goodvibes I'm glad you were able to enjoy your Mother's Day and I'm really happy you're feeling better

Time to get off...

Although all of your pictures are wonderful, these pictures are two of the sweetest ones I've ever seen :goodvibes

I love the picture of Mae and Margaret by themselves holding hands walking away from the camera!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 That is so wonderful! I'm glad to learn more about this breakfast, I've wanted to do it, but I don't think DH will!

Yes I feel blessed to have all my ladies around me...:lovestruc

yes give him some food and he's all good! I hope to do a couple special things w/ him in mind on next years trip...since it will be a pretty girly trip celebrating the girls' b-days.

Oh the girls look adorable in their dresses! It looks like they had a ball eating there! :cutie:

it sure is fun playing dress-up!

But..I do have to say...Ariel wasn't looking too good! :rolleyes1

she was the last we saw, and Mae wanted to know why she was in blue and not pink

Aw, that is such a cute/clever Mother's Day present!!!

it graces the front door entry now.

Hi Julie! :wave2:

First off, let me say how glad I am that you're feeling better! It was sweet how the whole family pitched in to make your Mother's Day so special (and colorful!!)

they really went out of their way :goodvibes

I love the picture (above) with Margaret and Aurora.... so little-girl sweet! :cutie:

I know I love it...if you look at the one by Belle she's pointing to Belle's picture on Mae's dress to her.

Tween-princess Aldine looked lovely with her tiara and Belle shirt... it must be hard for her to feel like she's got one foot in childhood still and the other foot in teen-dom!

yes we are entering the in between stage, glad we have another coming trip before she really hits those teen yrs.

Michael was a big help I see pushing the stroller... he seems to have tolerated well... good thing he liked the food!!

He did really good this day w/ the food choices and he can be a wonderful big brother to Margaret!

And Mae helping Margaret down from her seat on the bus... what a good big sister!

cute huh?

Those topiaries were a perfect fit for your morning, weren't they?! princess: I'm so glad you enjoyed the Princess breakfast! (We did too!)

Hi Lisa! and thanks

Although all of your pictures are wonderful, these pictures are two of the sweetest ones I've ever seen :goodvibes

I knew they were sitting together on the bus, but didn't realize all the cute pictures DH took of them and the Princess morning till after we got home. He feeds my scrapbooking brain!

I love all the pictures and that Mickey Head frame was such an AMAZING idea!

I know I was floored! I thought he had somehow created a single collage and then you look close and all the work he put in to it.

I love the picture of Mae and Margaret by themselves holding hands walking away from the camera!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 That is so wonderful! I'm glad to learn more about this breakfast, I've wanted to do it, but I don't think DH will!

They are cute....like Mae's shoes? the old Belle shoes that originally wnet w/ this dress were too small (the kinda too, but she doesn't care) and the pink sleeping beauty shoes were a Christmas present. She was a little mismatched but in the right place!

You should eat there....one way to see all those princesses!

J-

Wow... that's a lot of princesses!! Unfortunately I won't be there any time soon... maybe if my girlfriend & I go to Disney in the fall we can meet some princesses. But she has two girls so she may have had enough of that already. ;)

What a nice treat on Mother's Day - the flowers look great & I love the photos!! What a sweet sweet idea from your DH! :lovestruc

It was, but we all enjoyed it.

It was a nice gift! I keep telling DH how impressed you all are w/ it, as me :lovestruc

Continuation of Day 3) Let's explore EPCOT>>>

but first must stop to smell those Oranges....

we just left Restaurant Akershus and are on our way to the Land Pav and Soarin'....I'm glad this time we have a better idea of what to expect down in that (I'm sorry for lack of better word) mess in the lower hub of the Land Pav.

It is crazy busy there now w/ the Soarin' Flights...you need a plan! It was later in the morning than I had anticipated arriving over here, but I was relaxed....as we suspected Margaret was still too small to ride, so I opted to wait first w/ her, still all decked out in her Aurora dress...she sure looked mighty cute to me! :goodvibes

In my notes I think it was about 10:30 am. The standby line was steady moving as well as the stream of people coming down to get their FP's. It was an interesting side attraction watching the times change above the stand-by wait and the FP return time...and as always I am so surprised by the amount of people willing to wait more than 30 minutes for something you could come back an hour or two later for and get through the line and off in ½ that time...oh well?

I'm not positive but I think they were gone about 20-25 minutes, not to bad. Margaret and I people watched and chatted w/ a few other guests also w/ small kids waiting for the rest of thier parties.

The next flight was myself, my Mom and the twins...Michael was unsure if he wanted to ride again, but I'm glad he did...otherwise I probably would have had to skip it. Mae had freaked out a little bit this time in comparison to last year, unsure why, so Matt went w/ my Dad over to the Kodak labs w/ the girls as not to leave my Dad alone too long w/ them. He had gotten Mae changed into her other clothes too that I brought w/ and into regular shoes.

I enjoyed the flight probably even more than last year and it is quickly becoming a fun new FAV of mine!

We met up w/ everyone and quickly headed over to the Seas and after parking our stroller we went in the back entrance (near the gift shop) and had to distract Little Miss Shopper from grabbing stuff....and went into the little hub area to wait for the next TTw/C show. We only waited about 10 minutes so it wasn't that bad. Aldine looked at exhibits while Michael sat on the floor near my feet and read a book. I chatted w/ some other very organized planner w/ all her UG notes and touring plans....it looked intense.

The show was great as usual, this was the 1st time my Dad had seen it and was quite amused. The older girls sat on the floor and Michael and Margaret stayed w/ us. My laughter notes...were Ohio and Bra.....

should I just leave you w/ that?

Ok now I know Crush was talking to some little girl about where she lived and asked if she was by an ocean....yes, she replied. Oh yeah Crush wondered. She then proceeds to tell him she lives in Ohio....it was very cute.

Then later Crush shows us this thing he found in the water and puts it on his head...and the expression on his face was so priceless when a little boy told him he had a bra on....

You just had to be there...I had tears in my eyes! It was so good!

After that we headed back toward WS and took a restroom stop and Princess Margaret was changed into her shirt and shorts, matching Mae of course (pictures to come).

We then walked over to a water taxi to take over to the other side (Morocco)...before we boarded though Matt took (well ran) the twins over to a Kim Possible World Adventure Kiosk to get us signed up for a mission...and My Mom checked out a F&G tent and bought 2 spinning wind chime things...now of course the boat is coming now and I was panicking (what, who me? :rolleyes1) that they wouldn't make it back in time and we'd end up being badly split up....but luckily they all made it in time and we all got on the boat together! Yay and whew!

When we got to the other side, I saw Belle out in her blue dress signing books and taking pictures so I took the girls to meet her (Michael didn't want too) and told Matt to go w/ the rest and wait for us inside the Tangerine Cafe.

We didn't wait to long, and she was sweet and we told her how Margaret loves the BEAST! And she said he'd be out later w/ her so we'd come back.

Image066.jpg

For lunch we dined Moroccan style....YUM YUM Morocco is all I have to say!

100_2228.jpg

100_2227.jpg

I was so excited to eat here! Most of us had either the lamb or chicken wraps (Matt had some other kinda of wrap deli like sandwich he wasn't very hungry) and the kids had the chicken nugget meals and we all had the baklava for dessert. There was plenty of food...BTW if you want the carrots or jello w/ the kid meals ask...they didn't give it to me w/ my 1st order. Sorry don't have many pictures, we ate inside off from the main ordering area. And all I could think of when I ordered our food is those CM's must have been hot next to those steaming hot meat shaving poles....they didn't seem to mind...

The Baklava dessert, we all liked but Aldine said it was too honey-ish.

100_2226.jpg

When we were finishing another family was coming in and we started clearing our things from of our tables and I snapped this shot:

100_2225.jpg

Before leaving Morocco, we had a photo op w/ AL!

100_2232.jpg

100_2233.jpg

As we got ready to move on, we took a restroom stop and my Dad took the little girls to check out a little kid playground area.

Josefina enjoying Morocco....

100_2238.jpg

Then we went to FRANCE>>>

it was getting pretty crowded now and a little hot...so we just did a quick walk through and took a few pictures:

a future Monet.

As well Mae picked out a French Minnie Plush to add to her Minnie plush collection at home that we started when Aldine was little.

100_2967.jpg

when we walked out we saw Belle again out and asked if the Beast was on his way, we were told he'd be there around 1:30...they went to go hurry him up and we opted to get in line even though we had to be in Italy by 2 pm for our KPWM and it was about 1:45 pm now.

My parents decided to take a sleeping Margaret onward (I was bummed she wouldn't meet the BEAST, but she needed to sleep) to Japan as I looked up the Drums would be going on around 2pm. I'd find them later.

cont next post....

Image081.jpg

By now it was getting late and since we didn't really no how the KP thing worked Matt hurried ahead to Italy while I came up the rear a little slower w/ the kids...luckily we didn't have to rush after all...there was no cut-off or anything if you didn't arrive right on time. So we received our Kim-municator and the mission was to be in Germany.

100_2257.jpg

100_2258.jpg

100_2256.jpg

So Matt and the kids went on their way to save the world while I headed back to Japan to find my folks.

I snapped a few pictures before heading in:

100_2260.jpg

100_2262.jpg

and I heard the drums going and it was packed in there...so I went up the steps above the shopping store to see if I could spot them...which I did. So I wandered my way around the other side and gardens back down behind the crowds to get to them.

100_2264.jpg

I stayed and watched the 3 girl drummers do their thing...it was quite impressive and LOUD! Hence Margaret was not sleeping anymore...but she wasn't scared she just sat in her stroller under the towel “shield”

100_2265.jpg

After the show we walked back to Germany....( I was getting tired) and met up w/ Matt and the kids. My parents stayed w/ Margaret while I completed the mission w/ them. Here are some pic's:

100_2266.jpg

100_2267.jpg

100_2269.jpg

OK now I apologize I don't have the best review and it's not that it was BAD OR ANYTHING, QUITE THE OPPOSITE..VERY CUTE AND WELL DONE...FOR SURE want TO TRY Again (whoops didn't realize the caps were on, like 1st thing would be better then end of the day w/ growing tired kids) but this was just a bit too much and the icky tired sibling cycle occurred and the kids began bickering which caused Matt and I too be tense. We finished the mission (saved Germany too) but Michael And Aldine began to fight and I lost my temper...whoops and had to pull a mad Aldine out of Germany scolding her badly...we cooled off and determined the end of Epcot was here.

Timing could not have been better as a water taxi arrived in Germany and took us across toward Mexico/FW. Unfortunately Margaret had a full messy diaper blowout...YUCK! DH felt we needed to deal w/ it here and I knew we'd miss the boat...I said I can change her later let's just get on the BOAT!

I took her into the Odyssey Center Baby Care area which was the best decision and took Aldine w/ me to help and gave me a chance to talk w/ her and apologize for losing my cool w/ her.

I had never been in here before, and despite it being a little outdated in decor and faded pic's on the wall it was very clean, accommodating and a great place to place to that yucky diaper. And I felt better w/ Aldine as did she w/ me.

We took the path back over to FW walkway and met up w/ the rest of the family.

My parents sat and rested w/ the kids while DH and I went into MouseGears to do some shopping.

What did we get?

Up NEXT: MouseGears Finds and the SSE almost disaster....

thanks for reading,

I just knew they would do something fabulous for you on Mother's Day!!:cool1: I really like how your DH got all of the kids involved in the present. Margaret in her chair like a little miss supervisor!:goodvibes I love the Mickey head picture collage, too. My DH is definitely not that creative. Have you thought of any ideas for Father's Day yet?

Another great update! I really want to try the KP missions! There have been a few adults on the boards that have tried it and said they liked it because you interact with the CM in each country.

Don't you hate when you stay in a park a few minutes longer than you should have?? :rolleyes1

Sounds like it was a fun time for the most part. The heat got to us a few times & Alex & I had a blow up in Norway this year - we cooled off near the Odessy Center too. :thumbsup2

Cute pictues of Aldine wearing the beret & painting!!

I love Epcot! Awesome update! :thumbsup2

The pics of Aldine in France are amazing...and the one of Mae, the close up, beautiful!

I love the pictures of Beast. He's one character we have yet to meet. Nice job finding him in France!

You ate at my most favorite place to eat in all of World Showcase...Tangierine Cafe! YUMMMMM!!!

Meltdowns happen even on vacation....unfortunate but just part of being a family!! I love that you spent some time with Aldine afterward...nice job Mom.

Can't wait to see what you got in Mousegear! Shopping...yay!!

I had tons to comment on and now I don't remember half of it.....

What are those rope things with the balls on the ends attached to your stroller? Are they for the older kids to hold on to?

Love your Mother's Day presents....very thoughtful of Matt.

Your right about the baby care center in Epcot....but that wallpaper is a classic....so 80's (if you haven't seen it, the wall paper in the baby changing room is the baby Mickey and Baby Minnie that Disney used to sell)

Wow... that's a lot of princesses!! Unfortunately I won't be there any time soon... maybe if my girlfriend & I go to Disney in the fall we can meet some princesses. But she has two girls so she may have had enough of that already. ;)

I'll go with you and I'm sure Julie would too!

Now, I did love all your pix, but this one made me really laugh!!

So glad you were able to arrange for the kids to meet him... goodness, he looks so big!! We've never had the pleasure...

I can't wait to try the KP mission with my kids, but I'll take your advice and be sure to do it a little earlier. :thumbsup2 It's no wonder the kids got a little cranky... Epcot takes a lot out of you!!

Every Person Comes Out Tired!!

It really is impossible not to split up... there's so much to see and do! And you did a lot!

Looking forward to seeing the MouseGears loot....

Wow someone finally noticed them! OK Matt and I bought them like a zillion moons ago before kids at a Renaissance Fair in Wisconsin. It's actually a toy of sorts. Some worker of the fair grabs, DH< I and my sisiters boyfriend at the time and attaches the 3 of together w/ these rope things around our wrists and you have to figure out how to untangle your self (kinda like standing Twister) w/out taking the ropes off. Well he hooked us

and we bought them.

Now many yars later I don't know how Matt came up w/ the idea, but we knew we wanted something on the stroller to keep the kids w/ us in big crowds especially exiting say after a parade....and we've been using them since.

We just hook them around the stroller bar and tell the kids to "rope up" when needed.

They work great! They don't put the rope around their wrists, just hold on.

We got some great :thumbsup2 from other families and CM too.

Your right about the baby care center in Epcot....but that wallpaper is a classic....so 80's (if you haven't seen it, the wall paper in the baby changing room is the baby Mickey and Baby Minnie that Disney used to sell)

;)

I'll go with you and I'm sure Julie would too!

You KNOW IT!!!!!

Now, I did love all your pix, but this one made me really laugh!!

So glad you were able to arrange for the kids to meet him... goodness, he looks so big!! We've never had the pleasure...

He is HUGE HUH!

but look at his eyes, just as gentle as in the movie...

I can't wait to try the KP mission with my kids, but I'll take your advice and be sure to do it a little earlier. :thumbsup2 It's no wonder the kids got a little cranky... Epcot takes a lot out of you!!

Every Person Comes Out Tired!!

very true!

Looking forward to seeing the MouseGears loot....

Have a Blessed Sunday all!
