Wet, Sweat, Fun & Sun But You Have HOW Many Snack Credits Left?

I went to the Frozen sing along in December and I enjoyed it. Even on the Disney ships, they do have Frozen stuff. You will find out later in my TR

Thanks I knew you would understand. Yea I def wouldn't do the whole thing esp if there is an extra cost involved. Like I said Frozen is cute and all and we would see something maybe once. Like they didn't have the frozen thing at DL when we went but I would have gone once to see it but def not something I would repeat. We have seen Anna and Elsa once and that was enough.

And thanks about everything. It is not even the trips anymore although like you they give me ONE ray of light to look forward to in all the bleak but now I am just worried about my mom. She is 70 and REALLY needs to get those knees done but she is pretty much the bread winner. My dad doesn't work and it is not like she works for a company that would still pay her. Disability wouldn't even come close to covering the bills so I get why she is scared. Not to mention it would be a very big and painful surgery with possibly a long recovery. It sucks when you can't even take care of your health because of stupid money. If she could have saved some up but because the business isn't going well she has had to subsidize it and she doesn't even have anything saved. It is really sad and scary. I'm just praying that things start looking up because both of us are pretty down.

I imagine everything Disney (parks & cruises) all have Frozen fever!

The Sing-Along was free, so we did that one but didn't worry about any of the other shows. One was enough!!

It's harder when our parents are depending on Social Security and government health to cover expenses.....as we know, it doesn't begin to and so I can understand why she's putting this off.......medical costs are ridiculous!! Bottom line is, she's in need of having this done and she's just gonna have to do it & worry about how to pay for it later. Not fun knowing you're going to be hit with huge bills.....but sometimes we just have to suck it up and take care of our bodies first. We still have over $4000 owing for Mike's surgery (and not sure how to pay that off) and now we'll be adding mine (which will be more than his). Freaking out a bit about it, but this needs done & we'll set some sort of payment arrangement up to work on our balances.

Our next attraction was riding on the Great Movie Ride. We had the hand written DAS return time, but I was having trouble locating it. The CM didn't really care if I had it or not & let us in through the Fastpass line. We decided to keep Michayla in her chair and loaded pretty quickly. These are pictures Mike was able to get.

We got near the end of the Indiana Jones section when we stopped. The "canned" announcement was made to stay seated and the ride would start back as soon as possible. After hearing this off & on for about 5 minutes, a new announcement was made that unfortunately, the ride would not be restarted and CM's would be around to let you unload from your ride vehicle. The lights came on & Mike took advantage of this by getting a few more pictures.

They unloaded each vehicle and we had a couple different CM's come by and say they'd have some assistance soon in unloading Michayla and her chair. Never once did they ask if she could transfer out of the chair to get off and to be honest with you.....we didn't think about it either. We thought they were waiting on another guy that would help Mike lift her out. Well after sitting there & chatting with a very sweet CM, we found out that the FIRE DEPT was called!! I guess that is protocol on this ride when it goes down with wheelchair riders on it. I was somewhat embarrassed, as we could have gotten her out of the chair and it was a little over the top, calling the fire department that could be available for real emergencies. We probably sat on the broken down ride for about 20+ minutes. Since the fire department came and "rescued" us.....we asked for a picture......lol

We were given a Fastpass that could be used on any ride due to the wait.

We headed towards the Pixar area and ran across a Green Army Man.

We decided to use our new Fastpass to do Toy Story Midway Mania (a ride we would have skipped otherwise since we've done this at Disneyland).

Mike took these as we got in line outside.

These were taken inside in the queing line.

I LOVE the GMR and so glad they didn't get rid of it as they said they might. So has it changed since you were last there? I know they said TNT bought it so was wondering if it was different for you guys. Do the CM still come out at certain spots and do stuff or did they get rid of that? That is one I am looking forward to as well as Spaceship Earth at Epcot because we have nothing like them here. Glad you got to do Toy Story. I agree we probably would not waste a FP for that but if you can get on it cool. The rides have much better Que's in Florida because of the rain!

The wheelchair line veers off of the regular line and we had about a 15 minute wait. Mike got these while we waited our turn.

Michayla once again stayed in her chair and it was kinda neat to see them change what looked like a normal ride vehicle into a wheelchair ready vehicle. They removed a seat & laid the back down for the ramp. They had me load first & then they wheeled Michayla into the vehicle.

Michayla doesn't play the games or wear the glasses but she seemed to have fun. She giggled being whipped around the corners and when the air puffed at us.

We unloaded and these were taken on our way out and as we stopped across from Toy Story Midway Mania to get drinks. The area is still themed to Toy Story.

We found a bench to sit down on so we could feed Michayla and take a break. The kids kept entertained watching this goofy squirrel. The squirrel had no fear of people. At one point it started climbing up on the foot of a gentleman in a wheelchair & he ended up drop kicking the squirrel in the air. It was pretty funny.....he wasn't hurt and scampered off to bother someone else.

I have NEVER seen a squirrel lay flat on it's belly before......silly thing!

A couple random pics.

The only difference I really noticed in the Great Movie Ride was the new film montage at the end of the ride. They still have the characters come out. I guess the are 2 different scenes but we always get the gangster one (the other is a cowboy one).

How cute! I love the Pluto pics.

Beauty and the Beast is my absolute favorite show. I am glad you guys enjoyed it - you got some great pictures. The sing-a-long looks like fun but that's probably about all the Frozen fun I could take, haha. I missed that the last time I was there. Might have to catch it this time.

The fire department picture is so cute!! It's so nice that they all came to help you, you were probably like "What the heck!?"

Also I know you're from the other side of the country from me (I live in PA), but my great grandmother's maiden name was Eck. :daisy:

B&B was awesome!! The Frozen sing-along was funny....but I didn't need any more than that.

It was a little over the top, calling the fire department before even asking us if she could transfer. Glad they did the picture!!

:rolleyes2 ummmmm, silly question, but how did you know my last name?? (but that is kinda cool!! Mike's parents were from Nebraska/Kansas area) Its not a super common name, but at one point....we lived in a really small town and there were 2 separate Eck families....not related. :-)

Not a silly question at all- I felt creepy that I noticed Haha!! You posted a pic of the DAS return card and it said The Eck Family so I figured that was your last name. :)

I had never heard of anyone with that last name except my great grandmas family so I guess it jumped out when I saw it!

LOL.....well that makes sense!! :rotfl:

Hi Laurie! I am emerging from my usual lurkdom on the WDW boards to tell you how much I am enjoying your trip report. :thumbsup2 It's awesome as always.

Pam

Got behind again!
That squirrel looks pretty funny on his belly like that! I don't think I've seen that before either!

The Frozen show looks cute- be interesting to see what they do at DL with it- Glad we are going to see Aladdin next month- didn't get to see it on the Disney Fantasy on our cruise so be fun to see the DL show..Aladdin was always one of my favourites

The Beauty and the Beast show is sooo good, I love the dancing and dresses and everything :)

That squirrel was crazy funny.....the kids could have sat there all afternoon watching it's antics!! The laying on it's belly was just weird!

I'm sure the DL show of Frozen will be good but did it have to be yet another Frozen thing?? At one point they had talked about doing a Toy Story Musical....what happened to that idea?? So so SOOOOOOOO tired of everything Frozen!!

Aladdin at DL was awesome and I'm sad I won't get to see it one last time. I haven't seen it in a couple years because it hasn't been showing or schedule did allow time to see it when I was there.

B&B is my 2nd favorite show at WDW......the 1st being the Lion King show at Animal Kingdom.

We went to our 3rd Fastpass+ selection of the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. We were shown to some wheelchair seating in the back row. Tony had been looking forward to this all day. They start by picking audience members to portray different things before they started the show. It was kinda funny but we wanted to see the stunts. The show begins with Indy going thru some obstacles to reach the treasure above.

He made it & switches his weighted bag for the treasure......Uh-Oh.....watch out for the huge rolling rock!!

At this point, a gentleman comes on the stage & introduces himself as the director (or maybe it was the producer) and he said with live shows, things can happen that will interrupt a production. Today it was the rain......Since a lot of the stunts are outside, behind the main stage....they have to cancel the rest of the show due to heavy rain & lightening strikes. Heavy sigh......... Tony was super disappointed.

Once the crowds dwindled down, Mike took Tony down to meet the stunt man playing Indy. This at least eased the pain of the show being cancelled.

We decided since it was pouring to just stay put....as long as they weren't kicking us out, no need to go out in the elements & get soaked. Derek had texted to say that Shy & him were back in the park & asking where we were. We told him we were at the Indy show but waiting for the rain to slow before we went out. They had found cover as well but once it slowed down a bit, they took off & found us at the theater. Mike took some pictures of the rain.

After about 30+ minutes, the rain finally slowed & we were able to leave the theater. We decided to try the Great Movie Ride again. We went to ask for a DAS time but they just sent us on in. Fingers crossed we get to go all the way through this time!! When we went to load (and yes, we kept Michayla in her chair)....the CM that had sat with us & chatted during our last ride stop, was our "Tour Guide" this time. So here we go again on our ride through the movies.

So guess what? We stopped in almost the same spot. We sat for a few minutes & then the canned announcement came on, saying the ride had stopped temporarily and to stay seated.....blah blah blah. Well then the flames on the torches went out (they turned off the gas to them). And we truly thought we were going to have to evacuate off the ride again. A few more minutes passed and we started back up!! I almost cheered!! lol

More to come!!
