Wet, Sweat, Fun & Sun But You Have HOW Many Snack Credits Left?

Continuing on the Great Movie Ride.

We made it!!!!

We headed next to a restroom before going towards Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. A few random shots.

You've got a good eye for photos! Loving all of them. :) I tried to take photos on the GMR, and they all sucked eggs. WAY too dark in there for the crappy camera I was using.

Still enjoying your trip report! :)

Thank you....I'll try to get more on this tomorrow.....had a "situation" come up on the home front that is taking my attention away from here.

Wow! Glad to hear that Tony got to meet Indy

He was pretty happy about it!!

Mike needs a different lens for the dark rides but we haven't been able to afford it yet. (the camera was almost $2000 on it's own). He takes lots of pics and we hope to get a few usable. Thank you for the compliment.....Mike will be happy to read it!!

Oh drat about Indy! Glad that Tony got to meet IJ anyways though. Looking forward to Sci Fi :)

Welcome!! The DAS will make your touring much easier and make sure they note your "stroller as wheelchair" so he can stay in the chair right up to the ride or into shows. (if the chair is transfer ready, he can even ride in his chair on some of the rides). Be prepared for the heat & the rain......summer time is brutal in both departments!! Where are you going to stay??[/QUOTE]

The chair is transfer ready so thank you for that tip :). I was warned about the heat and told my hubby we'd be taking lots of breaks. We may even do the parks in the morning, eat lunch, take a break and then go back to the parks for dinner and more fun if we feel up to it. We have completely decided our hotel yet because my sister in law may be joining us. If she comes with us we will do two rooms at the Pop. If she doesn't we will have to do a Mod and I'm between two. The Caribbean Beach and POR Riverside. We shall see :)

I thought I was going to get Sci-Fi up yesterday but my day went from one thing to the next with little break. My pre-op appt. took a bit longer than it should have. Now we're on our way out of town for Tony's football game. So it's a 3 1/2 to 4 hr drive so I won't be back until late tonight. Should have time tomorrow since it's the weekend and no appointments or practices to gets to & from.

The heat is way harder on you then you can prepare for......unless you're used to the high humidity & temps. We had an unusually hot summer here (lots of triple digits...very un-characteristic for here) but the humidity adds a whole new layer of nastiness to the mix. We tended to go from an outside attraction to an inside to out to in, etc to help give everyone a chance to cool a bit and not leaving everyone in the elements.

We originally had thought about staying at the Port Orleans Riverside when I thought my other son Tyler was coming (they have rooms to accommodate 5 people) but when he told us early on that he wasn't joining us......we went with a more eye candy resort. The kids loved all the colors and character/toys at Pop. I really enjoyed my stay there & would stay there again!! We looked at the Caribbean one too as some point....that's the one with the pirate rooms? I quit considering it when I was reading that the mattresses on those beds were not real mattresses, just like 4" foam or something like that......lol

If Mike & I ever get a chance to go back, we'd like to stay at the Poly.....even if it was for only 1-2 nights and then stay elsewhere.

So I apologize for the lapse in report, this week we got hit with a real whammy that took all my attention to deal with.....I think things are smoothed over and hope we don't have to deal with that again. Yesterday I had my pre-op appointment, which took much longer than planned. I also had to run kids here & there, by the time I got done running......it was almost 8pm.

Today we're off to Astoria (3 1/2-4hrs from here) to watch Tony's football game. I only get to see a few of his games, as I'm not sure I'll get to see any after my surgery next Friday. So we are taking off this morning & won't be back until late tonight.

I have nothing on the schedule for tomorrow, so I should be able to finish up our Hollywood Studios day, sort pictures for our next day and then maybe even get it started. Have a good one!

Hope everything is ok and hope you enjoy the game tonight. I don't know how long his season is but I can tell you after my surgery I was up and around within a week two at the latest. I think you will do great and no worries on the report. We all understand. Just take care of business and we will all be here when you return. ;)

From one photog to another... you betcha!

Can't wait to hear about the sci-fi. I have never eaten there before. Hope things go okay.

Our next attraction was riding on the Great Movie Ride.

We got near the end of the Indiana Jones section when we stopped. The lights came on & Mike took advantage of this by getting a few more pictures. top, calling the fire department that could be available for real emergencies. We probably sat on the broken down ride for about 20+ minutes. Since the fire department came and "rescued" us.....we asked for a picture......lol

We were given a Fastpass that could be used on any ride due to the wait.
What a great memory......the photo with the firemen! I love it! I almost wish the GMR would go down while we are there.....my pictures never turn out that great. I did get a faster lens for when we went to Europe and this should be the first time I will have used it at WDW. Maybe my pics will turn out better with the new lens? I've added lenses a very little bit at ta time. Photography is a very expensive hobby, but so important to capture those moments!

We have a FP for the Indiana Jones stunt show. Not necessary, I know, but I don't want to have to wait in line for it as we don't have a lot of time this day. DH has never seen it and I think he'll like it. So happy Tony was able to meet *Indy*!

Oh, and not sure what your surgery is but best of luck! I had foot surgery back in early June and I'm still not normal (which is very subjective, hahaha). On the plus side I had a month off work and since I wasn't able to get around too well, I DIS'd a lot!

We enjoyed our day......long drive, close call (within 12" of a triple long semi) but beautiful day. Unfortunately, they lost in the last 2 minutes of the game.

As for the healing time on the surgery......can't drive for 2 weeks and absolutely no straining or lifting for 6 weeks. She wants me up and walking, so it's possible I won't have to miss games (which I hate doing)....it may be more the traveling in the car or sitting on bleachers that could be the problem. We will see.......

Thanks Kaitlin!!

The fireman photo rocks!! Something we'll remember for years....lol

Photography is expensive if you want a decent camera & lens anymore. Point & shoots are nice for getting daylight pics, but night or dark is hard to get a decent picture (usually very grainy when settings are changed). Where we love pictures, it's worth the extra cost.

We had a FP+ for some of the things "they" suggest not getting them for but get the ones that work for you & your group. I hope you're doing the show early in the day....hopefully that will keep you from falling under the same issue we had (thunder & lightening mid-afternoon).

Thank you....basically, things are falling apart.......... 6 weeks of very restrictive lifting, straining, you know......being a mom!

Well I was ready to do the 2 posts on Sci-fi and photobucket is not cooperating. 4 photos out of 19 didn't load, and now the pages are blank & can't get my pictures that DID upload to appear on the pages. Will try again later to see if things are working better. UGH!

Well as you know I had that giant incision and I was told no driving for 6 weeks and no lifting etc and that is a good cautionary thing but I didn't have a choice. They said on the driving the main issue with me was if I had to slam on the brakes they didn't want the seat belt to pop open my incision but I couldn't not drive for that long so by the first week I was driving. NOT saying that you should and if you can avoid it by all means but I had to and it was not a problem. I didn't drive far but took the kids to school and such. I also went back to work and did stuff around the house but avoided things like picking up the laundry basket or heavy grocery bags for about 2 weeks. After my 2 week post op I pretty much did whatever. I just had my 6 week post op and she said I look all healed but to do things as I feel able. A lot of that is precautionary so you can just go by how you feel!

We had a 7:05pm dinner reservation at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. We checked in at 6:50 & was seated by 7!!

We were seated in a "stretch limo" since we were a big group of 8......so we sit sideways to the movie screen. These are from inside the restaurant.

The menu:

More inside the restaurant.

My concerns lie more with handling Michayla. She is hard on our bodies on a good day......real important I have someone here to deal with her during my recovery.
