westgate lakes resort and spa

hi we just got a four night stay via hotwire for $60 / night for next weekend - looking for any feedback on this resort - how close to seaworld?

My friends have stayed at Westgate several times and have so many good things to say... I really think you will enjoy it a lot. I am not sure about distance to Seaworld...but I think it's pretty close by.

I've stayed there twice. Both times I really enjoyed myself. It's best not to check at 4 pm. Everybody is trying to get in thier room. It can be quit busy around that time. The first year I went, getting checked in my room, took a little time (it was on a Friday), because so many people were there, but once the lines went down everything went pretty well (we were given their restaurant comps because of our wait). The following year we stayed there (checked in on Monday) everything went super smooth. Both times my rooms were clean and well-maintained. My only complaint about the Lakes was the lack of parking. It was just too overcrowded.

It's a couple miles from Sea World. You'll be just on the other side of I-4, near Sand Lake Road, IIRC. So cross over on Sand Lake, then turn right on Int'l Dr, going south. It's a mile or two down on the right, past the Convention Center.

You may be able to see the highest fireworks from Universal or Sea World, depending on the location of your room. This is a pretty high density resort (many tall buildings, close together) with reports that vary widely (people seem to love it or hate it). We didn't care for it much, when we toured because we like more greenery. Lots to do there, though. Hope you enjoy it!

I had a bad experience with housekeeping. Hope you know Spanish if it happens to you. Otherwise it was nice. Whirlpool tub in the room and big screened porch.
