Here's what I woke up to this morning. The GSD loves the snow and wants to stay out side... the Lab... not so much ;)

It's hard to see but we probably have had 6"-8" but it is blowing and drifting. We were out with friends last night till pretty late and they hadn't plowed any of the highways yet. I was glad we were in a 4 wheel drive.

the snows falling pretty good right now-not sure how much more we've gotten since last night though the snows almost as high as the top of the soccer goal in the front of our house:scared1:

for those who have generators-anyone got the type that you can get permanantly wired into your circuit box? we've been thinking of investing in a generator, and were wondering how people like this type.

Awww, cute puppies! :lovestruc

We always had a GS and a mutt when I was growing up. And when it snowed our dogs were in heaven. They'd go running through the trail behind our house and prance around the clearing, begging for somebody to chase them. :rotfl:

It snowed quite a bit last night, but I have no idea how much. DH just ventured out on a Starbucks run, so I'll ask him when he comes back. He's on crutches, so I'm hoping he doesn't get stuck somewhere. :guilty:

We had ours hard wired last year. With a new baby last year I told my dh that I was not going to ever go thru what we did after the windstorm of 2006!

It is a dream! Power goes out you move the generator outside, go to the breaker flip the switch, plug in the generator, and start the generator. Piece of cake!

The neighbors on either side of us have done the same.

I'm not sure what you mean by type. Ours is just a regular generator. It just a plug/switch that is installed in the circut box. Are you meaning the kind that switches over automatically? We don't lose power often enough to warrent the extra cost for that.

I saw this thread and wanted to say Hi to my fellow Washingtoners. It is cold and snowy here in Spokane today. Dh is out braving the weather trying to get some last minute shopping done.

I just went out and shoveled the steps and dug out my truck for the most part. There was 16" of snow on top of my truck, it hasn't moved since Wednesday :scared1:

Is this crap over yet?!?!

Hi guys! I have about nine inches right now. That is, if I'm getting an accurate measurement and there isn't compact snow/ice at the bottom that I'm not punching through. There may be, because I swear it looks more like a foot on the table on my back deck. It's still snowing steady and it's right at freezing. That's not great...I'd rather it stayed in the 20s so the snow stays good and frozen. I don't want it starting to melt and re-freezing.

My Shepherd loves the snow too. I wonder if it's a Shepherd trait? Does yours do the nose-dozering thing? My Max sticks his face in the snow and bulldozes it, then shakes his head, sneezes, and looks really happy. :lmao:

Hiya! Thanks for joining us! Hope your hubby stays safe. Of course you guys know what you are doing in this mess much more than we do on this side.

It's snowing again out here too...       :faint: :furious:

Think I can convince my husband that due to the snow and emotional suffering I need a trip to at the very least Disneyland!?

Yes - Zelda does that too. Usually she dives in and comes up with an old toy or rock or something. Then she flings it off into the snow drift and goes after it again. She was just a pup last winter - she's just over a year old. So this is sort of a new experience for her!

We have about 7 inches, but it sure looks like more to me! My schnauzer loves the snow and is having the best time. We're pet sitting the neighbors sheetzu (deliberate mispelling because I think the sensors won't let it by) and he is not happy. He didn't mind it yesterday, but today it's over his head.

We didn't even try to get out for church today.

:lmao: Poor dog.

Well it's still snowing here. Hasn't really stopped all day. The kids are taking turns plowing the driveway but they aren't really keeping ahead of the drifting snow. A friend called and he's coming to borrow our 4 wheeler with the plow blade for a while to try to dig his driveway out. Don't know how much snow we've had total but our truck out in the carport behind the house has a drift as high as the hood - about 4' I think.

We just got back from a walk. We walked out to the main road thinking we'd see some pavement where the plows had been. Nope - lots of snow! It's going to be a long time before we see pavement.

We also walked in the woods behind our house. Talk about beautiful!

Oh, I bet that was a beautiful walk. :) I'm contenting myself with staying in the house and looking out at the woods, though. It's coooold out there and the snow is over the tops of my boots.

We have 11 inches now and still snowing hard. My husband is so bummed. He hates western WA because we "don't get real winter." He says it figures the one year we get real winter weather here he is in Iraq. I keep sending him pictures.

I just found this thread!! Yeah!!
We have just over 9" so far and yes, it's still snowing. We're just south of Seattle on Lake Burien. I've had a yard full of ducks all day begging for cracked corn. I've already fed them THREE times but they're cold and want full tummies I guess :confused3

My son just got back from sledding and was giving me a hard time for covering up the area he had shoveled yesterday into the side yard. I hadn't - it just snowed that much since last night! All the stuff that I cleared this morning is covered up again. :scared1: I will leave the house tomorrow, come hell or high water - well maybe not high water, we get floods out here too. :rotfl2:

Hey all!!! I am in Lakewood, and DANG!! it is snowy out here! My husband took th ekids out to play, and there was about 5 or 6 inches, with about a half inch of ice on top. Just enough for the baby to get stuck. :lmao: It is just beautiful here!! :lovestruc

Checking in from Redmond near Willows Road. I actually just got back from Disney World late Friday Evening (and it sounds like I managed to get in just before Sea-Tac turned into a huge mess) and since I had my car parked at my parents' house (on a hill), I had to get it towed out of their street with my Dad's truck. For now I'm just staying in, but I cleared the overnight accumulation of snow and ice off my car a few hours ago, and I'd guess there was a good 6-7 inches on it. I think I'm just staying in for now.

Bet you wish you were still in Florida!!

As an aside, my husband sent me a link to your blog a few weeks ago about Totem Lake - I remember when it was "more" and shopping there, barely. Not to mention the always exciting Bellevue K-Mart. :rotfl:

Ok, the end is coming, our Directv just went out. We're done!
