Well I guess the job at the Disney Store fell through. They haven't called back and its been a week. Thats ok though because my boss at Target is MUCH better now. While I was away everyone in the backroom quit!!! So now I am the only one who knows what I am doing. So she has been very nice and scheduleing me the good hours. So I am not sure if I want to call the Disney Store or stay where I am. I finally am getting what I want after 7 years I don't want to lose that.
Jill, I'm sorry the Disney store didn't work out, but am glad things are working out better at Target! It's about time your boss appreciates you finally! Let's hope they don't go back to treating you crappy.

We are in our early 30's and went to Alaska two years ago on a cruise. Yes, a lot of the activities on the ship are geared towards the older crowd, but there are so many activities about Alaska, the culture, etc... We would go again in a heartbeat! Yes, it would be different if Disney were to do it I'm sure, but Alaska was incredible. I stood at the front of the ship the day we were in Glacier Bay and cried because it was so incredibly breathtaking. I just kept thinking that in ten years all of that might no longer be there and let me tell you that that would be an incredible loss. This is something I would want my children to see and experience (hopefully, it will be there when I finally have some).

Your post made me go look at pictures and it is beautiful.

Thanks, I think it was meant to be. I really need my insurance since I need to start going to the Dr. for my migranes and Target's insurance is better than Matt's.

Good luck at you interview and I loved the picture of you and Tyler.

I'm sorry to hear that. They don't know what they're missing. You proabably know everything there is to know about Disney!

Good luck with your migranes. I hear they can be bad.

ahhhhhhh haaaaaaa, it has been spotted. I was in a great mood. that was after the castaway club party. Just dancing and being silly. I should have known there was a video :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

How ya doing Doctor of Accounting?? You still scare me:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Boo!! LOl. I love love love that video. I was told to make sure I posted it when I got home. It captures both your personality and the joy of being on the ship all at the same time.

Tammy, I was wondering about you today. I hope things are going well for you back home.

Thanks, things are okay. We are trying to get our lives back together and this is going to take a long time.

Tammy, did your kids have a good time on vacation?

Look out everybody, you might be in trouble in a couple days. Well, probably on Monday. The computer repair shop called me a bit ago and told me they finally received the part for my laptop screen. Something called an inverter, whatever that is. Anyway, I'm dropping off my computer tomorrow on my lunch hour, so after I have it back, I can post all my cruise pics & video clips! WOOHOO!!!!!

Since I am a bit of a computer geek I thought I would chime in. Thanks for helping Belle with the Dolphin Kids excursion photos ~ Beast

The screen inverter is a small circuit board which is located inside the laptop display panel, you’ll find it below the LCD screen. The screen inverter provides high voltage AC power for the backlight bulb (CCFL) and because of that the image on the screen is bright. If the inverter board fails, the LCD screen remains dark after the laptop is turned on and the image on the screen is very dark, almost invisible. You still should see the image on the screen under a bright light but without backlight the laptop is unusable.

So tomorrow I have sort of a date. I haven't mentioned it in case it fell through. Well, not really so much a "date" as a "get re-acquainted" get-together with my high school boyfriend, Steve. We started dating when I was 17 and continued until I was 23, and I even moved in with him for the last 2 or 3 years. We broke up a couple times during those years, dated other people for a short time, then always ended up back together again. After our final break up, we each ended up marrying somebody else. Now we've each been divorced for a while, he found me and we started talking a couple days after the cruise, and we've talked on the phone every night for about an hour and a half each time. He still lives in our home town, but is driving here tomorrow after I get out of work. We might go out for dinner, but might end up just renting a movie to hang out here and catch up on the past 17 years! :goodvibes

What's funny is I have a stuffed tiger that I sleep with every night because IT WAS HIS!

And our first date was to see the movie Dirty Dancing. Because of it being our first date, that's always been my favorite movie of all time and he knows that because I watched it over and over again during our years together back then, and even listened to the soundtrack all the time. Just the other day on the phone, he told me that over these past 17 years, every time he sees Patrick Swayze he thinks of me.

Kinda romantic, huh?

Wishing you luck with this. DrHug and I are going to his cousin's wedding in July to her hgh school sweetheart after both married and divorced and 20 some years later are getting back together. I'm a hopeless romantic.

Oh wow, thanks for that explanation. After reading it, I went to grab a flashlight to experiment. Shining the flashlight on the screen, I can see the image! I can see it enough to read it by flashlight, but when I take the flashlight away, it's almost a black screen. Interesting!

And I was very happy to answer Belle's questions. :thumbsup2

Aww! How nice to hear a happy ending! He told me today that a good friend of his (who I remember very well) told him recently that he always thought Steve would marry me and that everybody was so surprised that never happened. Steve told me he's been telling lots of old friends that we found each other and have been talking lots, and none of his friends are surprised (the ones who knew us way back then).

I am one of your good friends, but a few of the others have bailed on me.

AH....a mystery! A secret identity! A STORY!

...wait...don't tell me.....

hmmmmm, did your cell phone call my cell phone today????

Holly, can't wait to hear about your date AND your job interview!

Nan, hope Paul is feeling better soon. I HATE it when my ears ache, I can't imagine what he's going through.

Monica, posted a link to your report on page one. Looks like I'm going to have to register so I can post annoying comments in your report ::yes::

Peg called me at work late in the day and at some point the word Tortola was mentioned. Next thing I know she's googling it while we are on the phone saying "This place is beautiful!". Then tonight at dinner she loved the concept of a back-to-back. I bet she's on the DCL site checking out verandah staterooms before the weekend is over!:rolleyes1

Thats great!!!

I have to interject a funny Dirty Dancing story here - Darrell and I had been dating about 6 months. He sat with one of my roommates at the dining hall the one day and the table was discussing first date movies. So he tells eveyone our first movie was Dirty Dancing. My roommate says nothing - knows he is totally wrong though as she dragged me to Dirty dancing (correct answer was Planes, Trains and Automobiles). Of course Kimmy runs to tell me so she can be present when I bust him on it. Turns out it was a different girl he took to see it... Oops.

Holy cow, I think tomorrow will be the day to fire up the air conditioning for the season. Today we finally got above 80 degrees for what I think was the first time this summer. It hit 89 and is supposed to be 92 tomorrow. I know that's normal for most of you people, but it will be nice to finally be warm! Yesterday was so cold at the zoo with Tyler's school field trip. Just about everybody wore jackets and long pants. Brrrr!!!! I'm so ready for summer!

We were at the Wild Animal Park last night and had to wear jackets and pants - it was actually cold and rainy in San Diego in June!!!1

Employment Counsellor coming out:

PHONE THEM BACK!! YES ABSOLUTELY. If you want the job that is. I have known several employers to hire the first person to phone them back after the cut off date because that person has shown that they were really interested in the job.

And if you didn't get the job ASK WHY NOT... What could you improve upon so that next time there is an opportunity you can make sure you are what they are looking for.

You always want to know why you didn't get the job so you can fix it for next time. I had one client who wasn't getting any bites on her resume time and time again despite having lots of qualifications for the jobs she was looking for. As it turned out she had a few spelling mistakes on her resume she kept overlooking, but employers were worried it was a sign of sloppiness. Fixed the typos and she started getting hits. Sometimes it can be right under your nose, but until you ask for the information, you might keep missing it.

Ok employment counsellor mode off...
