so I'm going through my pics of the Minnie's fiesta party and I find this interesting series of pics...

Someone is trying to sneak into the background of my pic:
210832.jpg

And here she is again pretending to be talking to the CM:
210841.jpg

Now she's trying to hide behind the CM:
210847.jpg

And acting all nonchalant:
210934.jpg

and still drifiting into the background:
211001.jpg

And finally turns her back like she doesn't know what she was doing:
211027.jpg

Gaylean if you wanted to be in the picture so badly you didn't have to try and be so subtle. We wouldn't have minded at all if you just jumped right in for a pic. ;)

So we both want to do Hawaii but Ken is trying to talk me into Alaska :confused3 I think he doesn't want us on the same cruise!

Hey I'll do Hawaii too. I just think Alaska could be fun and I'm having fun with some of the "southern" comments about it.

No we don't live in igloos year round - Just during winter which only lasts about 10 months up here. :)

I have to be in everyone's pictures, even if they don't want me in them :lmao: How did you manage to get me in all those strange places? Wasn't I dancing with Shannon?

10 months, yuck! I love summer. How do you swim and go to the beach and the river?

So I applied for another job today. It's for a secretarial position at one of the largest law firms in Lansing. They have about 69 lawyers in our city alone and also have a couple more locations in Michigan. One of the lawyers I used to work for at my current job left our firm to work there. I worry about taking a pay cut with starting a new job because I just got a raise last week, but my co-workers tell me I'd actually be making much more, so it's worth a try! Wish me luck!

All the best with this job application Holly.

Answer to Desperate Shipmates: Trixe was undercover for WDI since the blue prints for Disney World Worlds were on the back of the painting. Storm stole the painting as he turned out to be Yuri's long lost brother. Storm was mad since he was the one who drew the sketches that got Yuri into Art school. Oh and the Captains daughter was in love with Yuri. I think thats all.

Thanks.:) Wow I must have missed loads!!

Thanks, things are okay. We are trying to get our lives back together and this is going to take a long time.

It is still early days for you all. It was lovely to meet you - you were one of those people we saw all over the place and that was fun!!!

More sicko talk. Wilson was complaining and crying about ear pain, so we called urgent care and had him seen tonight. Doc tells us his ear drum is retracted and then he looked at his chart (love the digital age) shows he was in last week for sore throat, yup told him the cruise crud story and I came off with walking pnemonia doctor says time to give Wil an antibotic to make sure that his 2 + week old cough is nothing more. (& likely his ear will be infected shortly, as we've gone this route many times before with him) so, now Wil is on drugs along with me and Paul.

Molly is still fine.

okay off to tvland for me. night:cloud9:

Your family have had a tough time health wise.

I keep forgetting to post this. When I went back to work, I had to work by myself since everyone quit. Everytime I came out of the backroom I looked for green lanyards and people I knew. I thought one of ya'll might just pop-up around the cornor like on the ship. You didn't though.:worried:

It was great "knowing" so many of you. One night I went to the show alone and there was Cheri alone too. I didn't have to watch the show alone after all (DH was napping). It was like that everywhere. I saw Deb and Jackie alot and they kept me informed on what was going on. It never failed everytime I needed a picture of Matt and I, up popped Ken. And can't forget our tablemates. I sat at the table the other night and all I had to talk to was my cat. It was great getting to know everyone and DH surprised me by booking another cruise!

Yesterday I saw Kelly twice in Harrogate!!!:lmao: :confused3 I see others of you too.:lmao: :lmao:

why can't I download my pics? I am plugging in my camera and it's not working!

If over 1,000 pics, might be difficult!! like my one, I uploaded it and only 200 pictures came out. I try again later.

Finally got back onto the disboards. Still way back on page 25 - will get caught up tomorrow. I was supposed to do some work tonight, but reading disboards was much more relaxing.::yes::

It was great to see so many people on the ship. Loved :thumbsup2 the lanyards. Always tried to smile& say hi at anybody with a dis-lanyard. Some would smile back and some not:confused3 . Scottishwee, so sorry you had some bad experiences - I thought you always looked so happy and friendly everytime I saw you.:)

When Ken (MFQ) first started getting into the dis stuff, I wasn't unsure about it, but I am so glad he got into this and got me into it. I had a fantastic time out drinking and dancing on Mothers Day night! It was great walking around the ship and being able to chat with different people.

Will definitely do another cruise, aiming for 2010 - Hawaii would be great! We've been home one week and still haven't got things unpacked and put away. The living room is one giant pile of laundry - oh well, that's what weekends are for.

Ken's just pointed out that I'm typing lots, so time to end it and say Goodnight. Will be back on again tomorrow to try and get caught up in this thread.

Shannon

It was lovely to meet you and the girls too. You always warm smile and I love your clothes with girls at Mexican party. I thought it was lovely. I changed my clothes at Mexican party, I think I was tired and put on something easy as I bought clothes for Mexican party, didnt worn it. Never mind. Olivia was worning her Mexican clothes at the party and cruise tooked the photo of her as turn out that was lovely picture.

We worn the flowers which you gave us and I took it home and keep for another party *** never see it in Scotland. Many thanks.:thumbsup2

I am same as you as clothes piles in kitchen and now piles of ironing too. Because 4 of us same as you too. Glad it is dull outside today, so I will do the ironing now.

Holly - Good Luck. Go for it!

Thanks, I think it was meant to be. I really need my insurance since I need to start going to the Dr. for my migranes and Target's insurance is better than Matt's.

Good luck at you interview and I loved the picture of you and Tyler.

Jill - Is it possible to call them and follow up?

I am starting to plan a mini vacation for us out to DL. Sukie has never been there. I'm thinking of either mid August or early September

I couldn't upload any pics from my camera....I don't know what to do. I have three cards more to do. Maybe I should just get them on a disk?

So yesterday I signed up for grad school. I will be doing my MBA online. I am pretty excited, I figured I better do it now while my company will pay for it, with things going the way they are, they could discontinue that benefit at any time.

Holly good luck with the date - sounds romantic!

I woke up with my ear and throat hurting. Not fun, hopefully it's nothing.
Not much planned but unpacking still this weekend. The house is such a disaster I don't even know where to begin.

My orchids came from EBay and my coworker brought me in about 10 orchid plant pots this am. So I will stop for orchid mix on my way home.

In the next couple weekends I hope we can work on our pool area. Behind the pool we finally have enough dirt to level the ground with the deck (the deck goes up three steps) I want everything tropical in there so far we have birds of paradise (white and orange) lots of orchids - all kinds - all colors of plumeria (frangipani) various palms....I need some more stuff though.

ok, back to work I guess.

I need another trip...I looked at airfare for the transatlantic Holland America and it was like 850 pp! I don't think they go much cheaper do they?

Good morning everyone! Sorry I was MIA last night, but have now become obsessed (sp) with doing my tr right.....with pictures and everything. Worked on that until almost midnight and have already been at it this morning (uploading pics to my Argentina and Countdown writeups).

Holly - good luck w/ Steve....keep us informed :goodvibes

Nan - hope everyone gets back to being healthy soon. I'm still on antibiotics and have some medicated cough syrup as well so on the road to recovery here.

Jill - TDS - doesn't hurt to call them to touch base....but don't worry if you don't get in....WE know that you are ment to be a CM here in FL so it will happen when the time is right.

Shannon & Ken - good to see you both posting again. Don't let life get in your way of DISing!

Deborah & Nan - I have some cute pics of Olivia & Molly - but those are on the home computer so will upload them here this weekend.

Martha - thanks again for the thanks :lovestruc I realized last night as I was going through pics to add to the tr that I didn't get a pic of you & DH - I have 1 of you in the background but nothing of the 2 of you.

Ian & Michelle - FYI I'll be in Spain btwn 11/8-11/17

Carol -  please make sure that you take care of yourself....hope the migraines are gone. Make sure you get yourself out in the sun for a bit (as much as you can).....take a chair and a book and relax. Sadie & Chewy will keep you company I'm sure :)

Remember we're always here for you!

Carol, I hope you are feeling better really soon.

Thanks for the well wishes. I am sure that this is only a temporary setback due to the missing of the ship and all my new friends. thinking about getting a membership at a scrapbooking store we have here so that I can go to some of their classes, get discounts, etc. this will serve two purposes, get me out and get me started on the scrapbooks I have sitting around.

I'm wondering how cold it would be in the summer. I thought about it yesterday. I really don't want to have to buy a lot of winter clothes.

Sometimes the temps in Alaska are warmer than they are here in Ohio.

LOL

Alaskan Cruises are generally only in the summer. Average Temps in the main areas of ports of call are generally in the 60's to 70's at that time of year. (Sitka, Ketchikan, Juneau, Anchorage)

If it goes into the Aleutian islands it will dip closer to the low 60's and 50's.

And if it makes port in Vancouver, BC or Victoria, BC - just bring rain gear with your shorts and t-shirts.

You won't be buying ANY winter clothes. Pants and sweaters should probably work just fine. Rain gear will probably be more appropriate than parkas.

Oh yes and make sure to bring your cameras and binoculars and be prepared to spend LOTS of time up on Deck 10 as the views will be spectacular and you never know when you will see a pod of Killer whales.

Ken, you have just made sure that I would like to go. Have always been interested. Doug has been checking into cruises on line since we have been home. I think he would like to go there next cruise but I would rather wait until DCL goes.

Carol, I'm sorry to hear this and am glad you're feeling better. Something strange: I had a migraine for almost a week straight on the cruise but haven't had one since.

I didn't have one the first week of the cruise but had one every day once we got to the Pacific side. I think it was the higher humidity over there. The humidity was still pretty good on the Caribbean side. My migraines are almost all weather related and since the weather has been really unstable since we got home .... My DH calls me his human barometer. Spring and fall are really bad for me. Once the weather evens out again I will be fine.

So I applied for another job today. It's for a secretarial position at one of the largest law firms in Lansing. They have about 69 lawyers in our city alone and also have a couple more locations in Michigan. One of the lawyers I used to work for at my current job left our firm to work there. Go for it and good luck!

So tomorrow I have sort of a date. I haven't mentioned it in case it fell through. Well, not really so much a "date" as a "get re-acquainted" get-together with my high school boyfriend, Steve. We started dating when I was 17 and continued until I was 23, and I even moved in with him for the last 2 or 3 years. We broke up a couple times during those years, dated other people for a short time, then always ended up back together again. After our final break up, we each ended up marrying somebody else. Now we've each been divorced for a while, he found me and we started talking a couple days after the cruise, and we've talked on the phone every night for about an hour and a half each time. He still lives in our home town, but is driving here tomorrow after I get out of work. We might go out for dinner, but might end up just renting a movie to hang out here and catch up on the past 17 years! :goodvibes

What's funny is I have a stuffed tiger that I sleep with every night because IT WAS HIS!

And our first date was to see the movie Dirty Dancing. Because of it being our first date, that's always been my favorite movie of all time and he knows that because I watched it over and over again during our years together back then, and even listened to the soundtrack all the time. Just the other day on the phone, he told me that over these past 17 years, every time he sees Patrick Swayze he thinks of me.

Kinda romantic, huh?

Good luck with this. You and Tyler deserve a good man.

Carol

Thanks.:) Wow I must have missed loads!!

(NAN, pretend we are sharing a drink while you read this!)

Actually it was all revealed at the last meeting in the Walt Theater. You weren't really given clues to actually solve the puzzle correctly...you pretty much had to guess who you thought did it and where the picture had been hidden. Really, the only thing you could 'solve' was the reason for the theft and that was from the clue of the four paintings hung in the gallery. It was a lot of fun to watch the CMs do their characters though. Luke (Storme) did a great job...which I didn't actually realize till I talked to him 'out of character'...so not a surfer dude! And Trent inspired a big case of the giggles when I asked the inspector from OOPS my question during the Studio Sea session. All in all, a lot of fun...even though it did force me out of bed earlier than I wanted to one morning!

...back to catch up....

Brought in all the menus I brought home (all but the "normal" AP one) and all the Navigators so that I can remember what I did/ate for the tr. Wearing also 1 of my new shirts (red one w/ what looks like the new logo--both ships). I'm in a DCL mood!

Carol - this sounds like a great idea (on all levels) :thumbsup2 I wish I had a store nearby too...but then again there is NOTHING all that nearby to me.

My sister's migraines work in the same manor. I'm actually thankful that mine are caused mostly by smells. Take it easy and hopefully the pain will atleast dull

Carol

I've got all the menus too. I was going through everything last night when I was so frustrated about my camera!

V, how exciting to be doing an MBA and so sensible to get going whilst it is paid for!
