We're touring Disney like a 3 year old (2TRs in 1!)- UPDATE 5/18 pg. 46

That's so cute that Minnie was one of the characters to be met! And Goofy doesn't look too left out either! I wonder if they had found Minnie for her little fan or if she was supposed to be there already!

We definitely got lucky with Minnie being one of the characters, even though I have a sneaking suspicion that they "found" her just for this meet and greet. We had to wait a few minutes between the group in front of us and the time we got to go in, so I think they were trying to find Minnie for our little girl. :thumbsup2

Great pictures! Your little one just looks so happy! I love that Visa greet area since it usually isn't very busy and you can meet more than one character at a time.

Isn't the WL pretty?! Staying there is on my "someday" list.

Yes, the Visa greet is a fantastic little area. We love waiting to see who will be behind the magic curtain.

WL is also on my "someday" list. So many resorts.....

What a fun meet & greet! Your DD looks so happy in all the pictures :goodvibes I would have had a really hard time deciding which picture to print too!

We went to the WL for dinner a couple of years ago and I thought it was just beautiful. Can't wait to stay there - in just one week!!! :woohoo:

Yes, it was such a good thing that I had preordered the cd. She is seriously a pretty happy camper in Disney.

Have a blast in Disney! I am looking forward to your next TR already because I know it will be full of beautiful photos and drool-inducing food pics.

I must admit I am two updates behind because I always see you TR when I am at work (no pictures). But you are now third in line for me to view when I get home. Can't wait to see more PP pics of your lovely daughter. You sure did get your moneys worth out of that CD. :thumbsup2

Aw, well I am glad that you are still reading along, even at work! I have to admit that I do a lot of catch up reading at work too, but I work the night shift so if everyone is behaving and sleeping, then I can read. We definitely got our money's worth out of that cd, with character meetings alone!

I love the meet and greet pics and I also agree your little one is a cutie!

I just found your TR ~ I love it! Your little one is so adorable! Those seagulls ~ urgh, beware ~ one of them robbed a donut from my hand!

Aw thanks!

I just found your TR ~ I love it! Your little one is so adorable! Those seagulls ~ urgh, beware ~ one of them robbed a donut from my hand!

Aw, thanks and :welcome: to my TR! Thanks for reading. EEk! I can't believe a seagull took one right form your hand! Actually, that doesn't surprise me too much, they were so aggressive that day.

Sorry for the delay in updates, but it’s been a busy few weeks here in our household. Our little girl turned 4 years old this past weekend. Here she is with her new Ariel pajamas and her new Belle doll that she also dressed in Ariel pjs. (if you are friends with me on FB, you’ll already know the picture) Sorry for the quality of the picture, but it was taken with our IPad.

Oh, and RachelNinja - no worries, Jessie is still a fave of hers in the house. Her birthday cake included the princesses and Jessie. And while she is in love with her new Ariel pjs, I think she is going to be Rapunzel this Halloween - minus the long blond hair. She was a bit freaked out by the fake hair, she wants to wear a tiara/crown instead.

Back to the TR….

Now that the time really has passed by, my memory is definitely getting a bit fuzzy at this point on all of the exact details of the trip. The next morning dawned crisp, clear and chilly, as usual. We bundled up and headed to the POR food court for what had become our routine breakfast – a bounty platter, a chocolate croissant, a chocolate chocolate chip muffin and some drinks. I think we may have gotten a Mickey waffle somewhere in that mix as well – no breakfast in Disney is complete without a Mickey waffle, no?

With our tummies pleasantly full, we headed off to our park of choice – MGM/Hollywood Studios. We may not have made it to rope drop, but we still made the dash to get Toy Story FP tickets. Since we were in the area, we headed in to One Man’s Dream, also hoping to warm up a tad bit.

ry%3D400

I wish I had more time in this attraction. It’s a little harder to walk around and really take it all in when you are in the company of a little one. She was willing to take in some of the displays, but at a bit of a quicker pace than I was hoping for.

ry%3D400

I had to get that photo in since I loved the Mickey Mouse Club growing up. I do remember seeing reruns of the original club, but I grew up watching the new MMC – the one that spawned Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, and so many more (NSYNC anyone? Tony Lucca?) That was a fave show of mine – along with Kids Incorporated (back in the day when Fergie was a preteen). But I digress.

After our little walk through attraction, we headed over to the Animation Academy to see if we could meet some friends. We walked inside to see who was out and about. I didn’t even have to ask a cast member because as soon as we entered the building, I smelled strawberries. I’m serious. The air was so fruity and sweet smelling, I instantly knew that there could only be one reason for that scent.

ry%3D400

Lotso! Doesn’t he look so deceptively sweet and snuggly?

ry%3D400

Our little girl instantly forgot that he was a villain in the movie and ran to get in line to meet him. I mean – he was pink, cuddly looking, and smelled like strawberries, how could she resist? She couldn’t. Since it was still relatively early in the day, there was a pretty short line to meet Lotso. Always a good thing when waiting with a little one.

First thing she did when she got up to him was give him a big hug. Love that she literally just disappears into him!

ry%3D400

Short term memory with little ones means a very happy meet and greet with Lotso.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

She just looks itty bitty next to Lotso. And he just looks so huggable - hm, I guess that does make sense with his full name, huh!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

He just looks so sweet and innocent, doesn’t he? And our little girl looks seriously thrilled to be in his arms.

ry%3D400

The meanest behavior that we saw from Lotso was his possible smothering of our little girl. Haha!.

ry%3D400

It was pretty hard for us to pull her away from Lotso, she actually wanted to meet him again later that day, but the line was a lot longer then. So we skipped over to the next line to meet the big cheese himself….

ry%3D400

We also did a little pin trading with a cast member while we waited patiently for our turn. She wore her little pin lanyard with so much pride!

ry%3D400

A big hug for Mickey!

ry%3D400

Strike a pose.

ry%3D400

And a little kiss goodbye.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

We played around in the building for a little bit ad asked our little one if she wanted to meet the Incredible Family, but they freaked her out a little bit. So we headed back outside. Now, if you thought that was the end of our character meets for the morning, think again! When you exit the Animation Academy building, where do you find yourself? Why, right in front of Playhouse Jr., which happened to be closed during our trip as they were changing it over from Playhouse Disney to Playhouse Junior. That doesn’t mean that there weren’t some more friends out and about!

Our little girl was really hoping to see big Annie again, but she had to settle for just Quincy.

ry%3D400

He still got a nice big hug from our little girl.

ry%3D400

We still needed Quincy’s autograph, so he signed her book before they struck a pose. Or he struck a pose and she just stood there in a slightly awkward stance.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Coming up:even more characters - is that possible?

I don't know if I could meet Lotso. He looks so nice and friendly, but I can't forget what he did to Woody and friends. Did he really smell like strawberries?! What a neat little attention to detail!

Glad you're back!

I also loved MMC and Kids Inc. Do you remember Mario Lopez as one of backup dancers too? I still can't take Fergie seriously. Every time I see her I think of Kids and want to yell "Your name is Stacey!!!"

Great update. I LOVE the pics with Lotso. We have one of DD with Cookie Monster where it looks like he's eating her. Too cute!

I love the MMC flashback. Caitlin was probably about the age your little one is now when we used to watch it and she loved it! :)

I'm so glad your little one wasn't afraid of Lotso. Her pictures are always adorable. Her smile is infectious :cutie:

I didn't know all of those people were in the "new" Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!! I need to find episodes to watch! I bet I would LOVE them after seeing all of those actors in their modern day movies.
Those Lotso pictures are TOO CUTE! Oh my gosh. I know, he does look so cute, doesn't he!? Such a shame. I remember being legitimately shocked when he turned out to be the villain. (I get really into Disney movies the first time I see them :rotfl: I was probably yelling at the screen) I wish he was nice. :sad2:
Sorcerer Mickey is adorable, too! I always love meeting him!
And way to go getting her pin trading at such a young age :thumbsup2 Such a Disney Child. I love it.

I know, who would have thought Lotso was going to be so mean?! However, he looks so cuddly in person, I was tempted to run up ad hug him myself. And the whole room seriously smells like strawberries! I love all the Disney details.

Glad you're back!

Thanks! Glad that people are still around to read it.

Can you believe how many people came out of the MMC and Kids? I was totally in love with Tony Lucca from the MMC and JC, later in NSYNC. That's too funny about Fergie. I think the same thing.

The Lotso pics are cute. She is a sucker for anything soft, cuddly and pink!

I used to watch the MMC with my sister and we'd reecord the episodes so that we could practice the dance moves from their musical numbers. Sigh, the memories. :rotfl:

Oh my gosh, she had the biggest smile with Lotso! It is so hard for me to stay upset with her when I see her little face. Her smile does always put a smile on my face!

Um, I was obsessed with the Mickey Mouse Club. Here is a photo I found online. You can see Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and Britney Spears.

mmc.jpg

Lotso is just so cuddly looking, how can you resist? I was shocked too that he was the bad guy! And not only was he the bad guy, we was really bad - trying to get them all killed and whatnot?!

Mickey is just so cute in all his different outfits!

Yes, she is totally into pin trading. In February it was more about just trading for pins that she liked, our past trip in August, she actually seemed to be going for a theme. It was cute to watch! I am definitely trying my best to cultivate a Disney kid!

Aww, the MMC! I loved that show! I remember watching it when it first came back on, and I would set my VCR so I could record it and watch it over & over again. :rotfl: Yes, I was a bit obsessed. The cool thing was that my first time going to WDW when I was a teenager. We went to MGM and we went on the backlot tour, and the tram drove through the building that MMC was filmed at! We could see the set through this window as we drove by. There were no kids on the set at the time, but I almost died of excitement.

Your daughter takes the cutest character pictures! I'm so glad that she has gotten over her fear and just jumps right into the hugs. She always looks so happy. Too bad Annie wasn't around again.

Shut the front door!! (Yes, I also love me some Rachel Zoe) I also had a parallel experience in high school! We went to MGM and I remember being so bummed that they weren't filming. And my sister and I were just as obsessed.

Oh - and you would totally appreciate this story....when Bill Clinton was being inaugurated the first time, I went to the National Mall for the big festivities (I grew up in the northern VA/DC area) and some of the older kids from MMC were performing at the Kennedy Center later that night. Well, I was walking around checking out all the activities and ran smack dab into Kevin (I think that was his name). Like literally ran into him. I totally freaked internally and am pretty sure I came across as an inane, mute teenage girl. I just froze. I then proceeeded to stalk the area in hopes of finding Tony Lucca with my friend. Oh the memories!

Seriously, if we only managed to meet up one day we would have so much to talk about while our kids played.

Okay, the Lottso pictures? Priceless. I LOVE them!

Girl, MMC? Keri Russell? Chasen? The PARTY!!!????

Um, can you tell I watched it ALL THE TIME!? Religiously. Oh, and Kids Incorporated. Fergie, Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Man, we totally just dated ourselves, didn't we? :lmao:

Well - Happy Birthday to your little one! Hope she had a fabulous day.

I can't believe she was literally buried in Lotso! Too cute!

Another great round of characters.

Did it ever warm up during your trip? Brrrrrr!

I love Lotso. On another trip report we decided not all lotsos are mean it's only the one in the movie and he's only mean because he lost the little girl he loved so was angry about it

Happy birthday to your little one!!! I hope she had a wonderful day!!! :yay:

That's too funny about the Lotso M&G - I guess someone that's bright pink and smells like strawberries can't be too bad!!

Love the MMC pic...I used to LOVE watching that!

:rotfl:Love that you remembered the Party and Chasen! I had totally forgotten about them! We may have just dated ourselves, but that was a fantastic memory. Sigh.

And I forgot that Jennifer Love Hewitt was on Kids! So many people came out of those shows.

Thanks, she had a great birthday and we still have one more party to go. Seriously, this child has gotten the longest birthday celebration. And you know that we have lots more Disney princess paraphenalia in the house now.

Yes, i used to think it was funny that Pooh and Duffy would engulf DD, but that was nothing in comparison to Lotso!

Yes, it did warm up.....on the last day. Of course.

Ooh, that's a good one! I have to remember that if DD ever asks me about Lotso.

Thanks - she had a great day! She loves telling people that she is 4 now!

Right? If your favorite color is pink and you like strawberries, Lotso is fantastic!

Apparently we have quite the MMC fan base here on this TR! :thumbsup2

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope not all of you guys got walloped with snow like we did up here in the Northeast. We were lucky at our house though and only got a few inches and only lost power for a few minutes at time. Our good friends got a foot and a half of snow and lost power, so they ended up at our house to stay warm and watch some football. Later tonight, we'll be heading out trick or treating with my own little Rpaunzel. And of course she doesn't want to wear her warm hat and mittens. It would mess up her fancy Rapunzel braids (and clip on blonde hair extension).

Now back to the TR

After our little meeting with Quincy, we heard some loud music that we knew could only mean one thing. A parade or show. Anyone who has followed my TRs knows that our little girl just cannot pass up a parade. While it wasn’t her favorite Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It parade at the Magic Kingdom, it still consisted of a large float coming down Hollywood Blvd, blasting energetic music and people dancing and singing. So we had to see what this show was all about.

ry%3D400

You can kind of see her next to me – in her Minnie Mouse polka dotted sweatshirt. By the way, doesn’t the sky just look beautiful? Just a typical chilly winter day at Disney. Brrrrr.

Even though there weren’t any characters in the show, our little girl was still mesmerized by all of the singing and dancing. Of course she wanted to join in on the dancing in the street.

After our little show, we continued to make our way around the park, but not for long. We were soon sidetracked by some more friendly faces.

ry%3D400

Pooh and Piglet! She was so excited because we had missed out on Piglet our last trip.

Here she is being eaten up by Pooh.

ry%3D400

And then I guess he was using her as a hand rest? Or maybe he was just patting her head?

ry%3D400

Either way, she loved it. Of course.

ry%3D400

I like that even though there are some plain ugly barriers up, Disney finds a way to make them a bit more festive. Or at least tries to.

Piglet seemed to have some secret parting words for our little girl.

ry%3D400

Then we ran over to the other end of the square and headed to see Minnie Mouse. Like our little Minnie Mouse sweatshirt wearing little girl was going to pass up the chance to see her favorite mouse, in a pink dress too!

ry%3D400

I love this picture.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

She loves Minnie Mouse, can you tell? Not like she hasn’t already met her 2 other times this trip.

ry%3D400

Showing Minnie Mouse that she is also on her sweatshirt.

ry%3D400

And a high five to say goodbye.

ry%3D400

We weren’t totally done with this little meet and greet area, though. Our little girl spotted a pin that she wanted on Minnie Mouse’s cast member friend.

ry%3D400

Picking out which pin she is going to trade.

ry%3D400

And making the transaction.

ry%3D400

I can’t remember what pin she traded for, but it was pretty much whatever pin looked good to her. She didn’t really have any plan in mind. I just thought it was so cute to watch her trade. I can see how it can get addicting though.

Then we continued on our way around the park. Our little girl spotted a hat that she wanted to try on, though.

ry%3D400

Apparently she wanted to keep the veil over her face instead. Silly girl.

We finally made our way over to Pixar Place. We had Toy Story FP that were calling our name. That game is so fun, but I just refuse stand in the stand-by line when the waits are so long! Especially with a 3 year old. That would not be my idea of fun. So after we tired out our arms on the ride, our little girl was in a pretty good mood. She was even willing to stop by and say hi to this green fellow.

ry%3D400

I thought that was very brave of her, because frankly, I would have been terrified of him if I were her. Who am I kidding? I am still a bit freaked out by him. I think it’s the weird netting/”mask” over their faces.

I apologize if this TR is all over the place, but it’s been a while so I can’t remember a lot of the small details unless I have photographic evidence. When I flip back to my planner, I see that my ADR list was not updated before we left all the last minute changes. I had 1900 Park Fare written down for dinner that night, but I know we had cancelled that dinner and switched to a 2TS meal for later in the week. We weren’t sure if our little girl would have had fun with all the craziness of the stepsisters and the stepmother. I think my husband and I would have enjoyed it, but not so sure about our daughter. So that was placed on a list for a future trip. So anyways, my point was I also have no idea where we ate lunch this day. I know we ate somewhere in the park, I just have no idea where. I am guessing it was Pizza Planet. So sorry about that.

Moving on, we find ourselves back at the Playhouse Disney area. Who were we looking for? Big Annie again, but instead, we only found her big brother, Leo.

ry%3D400

He was pretty happy to see the little Annie doll, though. And once again, our little girl ate it all up!

ry%3D400

I think she would be perfectly happy just meeting characters all day.

ry%3D400

The sun was starting to come out by this point – finally. So it was warming up a bit. We could see people lining up on the street for the big parade, so walked around until we found a good spot. Let me tell you, it is much nicer to sit and wait for a parade when the sun is out and you aren’t sweating buckets. I thought this parade was cute, but pretty short.

ry%3D400

I love that you can see characters that you don’t normally see out and about, though. I mean, how cute is Boo?

ry%3D400

And of course, Jessie and Bullseye. Of course after this parade, our little girl kept asking us to meet both Bullseye and Boo.

We also stopped off for some classic PP photos. Unfortunately, I think there was something on the lens so we have some extra spots on the photos.

ry%3D400

And a fun little magic shot.

ry%3D400

And so ends our Hollywood studios day. I think we went and checked out different resorts that evening. One of them being Coronado Springs and then having dinner at Pepper Market. You could definitely tell there was a convention of some sort there as there were people walking around with their name badges and dressed in their business casual gear. They actually seemed to outnumber the families and Disney guests there. The food court was pretty good though. I do remember that I grabbed some of the chocolate chip muffins there for breakfast the next morning. POR only had chocolate chocolate chip muffins and I like plain chocolate chip muffins. So yay!

Next: more characters in AK and Epcot

Ooh, that's a good one! I have to remember that if DD ever asks me about Lotso.

Yeah it works! Not all Lotso's are evil! :)

I love all your character pics! They so cute!
