We woke up Saturday morning bright and early. We were down to our last two full days at Disney and were determined to cram as much as we could into the weekend. We talked to our little girl and basically decided that we would hit up all of her favorite parts of the World over the two days. Our first stop this morning
..Animal Kingdom.
Yes, we were going to Animal Kingdom for like the 3rd time this trip, I think. And we still didnt explore all of it over the course of our many visits. Traveling with a little one who is not a daredevil means that we tended to see many of the same sights. We didnt mind too much, though. Touring AK is so much more doable when the weather is cooler and you arent dying from the heat.
It was a little sunny out that morning. We were hoping that would lead to a slight warming up of the temperatures.
We actually didnt have too much in mind for our day at AK, we just had one objective Conservation Station. Speaking of which, the whole time we there, I kept hearing the song Conjunction Junction in my head. Over and over again. I think it just sounded so similar to Conservation Station that it brought back more old school memories. Anyways, random side note there.
We took the cute little train ride up to Rafikis Planet Watch and headed up to the Conservation Station building. Our little one had a cricket that she wanted to see.
Apparently they were having a moment.
It was a little hard to pull her away from her new friend.
Lucky for us, a little information session was underway on baby alligators. And what little kid can resist the opportunity to pet a baby alligator?
Of course I had to go and feel the alligator for myself too. Because really, when am I ever going to be brave enough to pet a real alligator any other time? Then we headed over to say hello to another friend.
Our little girl really wanted to show Pocahontas her little green alien toys. On our way into the park this morning, our little girl had decided on her toy for the trip. She wanted the bucket of little green aliens. We told her that she would have to wait until we went back to DHS, but lucky for her, Island Mercantile had a nice selection of Toy Story toys. So our little girl wanted to keep some of the little aliens with her at all times. Pocahontas was pretty amazed by them.
I think she was asking our little girl if they had names and what they were. Her response? Green Alien. And Green Alien. Great names, right?
I think I like this Pocahontas more than the first Pocahontas we met. She looked a bit more like what I had expected.
Making sure she gets her aliens back.
And one huge hug good-bye!
Rafiki and some other friends were also out and about, but they were a little scary to our little munchkin. They were one of the few character friends that she passed on. Then it was off to pet some animals.
She totally enjoyed the petting zoo area of Rafikis Planet Watch. Its not like she doesnt get to visit baby goats and sheep at the farms near us at home. I am also very glad that they have Purell dispensers and hand washing stations on the way out of the petting zoo area. Not that I still didnt make her use the special soap that I carry on me after she washed her hands. Just in case.
Once we had explored all that we needed to at the Conservation Station, we hopped on the little train back to the main part of the park. We were starting to get hungry. And there was one last thing I needed to do at Animal Kingdom. I wanted to get lunch at Flametree Barbecue. I had been wanting to try this place out, and was determined to make it this time around. Sorry, I dont have any food pics from this lunch, but it was definitely yummy!
We even found a nice spot to sit and enjoy our lunch, There are so may pretty areas around there. And our little girl had her little green aliens and the blue rocket that came with it to keep her occupied while we dug into the massive meal. While we ate our lunch, we decided that we were pretty much all set with Animal Kingdom and would head over to Epcot. We had a dinner ADR there and wanted to do some more exploring of the World Showcase.
But first, some PP pictures! You can see that it warmed up a bit since our little girls coat is now off.
And a surprise magic shot!
She loved this shot when she saw it since she had her own little baby Simba to take home with her.
Then we were off to Epcot to explore the World Showcase. We wanted to have a lowkey afternoon just wandering around the countries and just soaking in the atmosphere. And by soaking in the atmosphere, I mean, just enjoy ourselves and act silly if we wanted to.
Apparently we started off in China
..
The original plan was to have our little girl hop onto the elephant, but she nixed that idea. So I hopped on instead and she posed next to me.
Sorry that this part of the TR is getting so disjointed, but I totally cant remember all of the details. I do remember that I took a peek at the time and saw that Mulan would be out meeting people soon, so you know what that means
..
Princesses and character friends always get hugs.
They had a nice long conversation. I dont recall what they were talking about, but I am sure it was fascinating.
I do know that she asked her if it was okay if she gave her a little kiss. Of course our munchkin was not going to say no!
It was her second princess kiss mark of the trip.
After this meeting, our little princess decided that she wanted to meet more princesses. So we had to consult the Times Guide to see who would be out and about.
Next: how may more princesses and characters will we end up meeting this afternoon? And a yummy dinner ADR.
