We're touring Disney like a 3 year old (2TRs in 1!)- UPDATE 5/18 pg. 46

Happy Halloween!! Snow already?!! That is awful! :sad2: I am so not ready for winter! I hope you'll post pictures and let us see the little one as Rapunzel :)

It looks like a fun time at DHS. It's so cute how your family finds all the characters and the pictures are all adorable! We haven't caught the parade there in a long time so I enjoyed those pics :)

Have fun trick-or-treating and stay warm!

Hi! So I've been reading along silently for a while but I'm out of hiding now and wanted to 'introduce' myself. I've really been enjoying your TR. What a beautiful family you have, your daughter is seriously the cutest thing! :goodvibes I don't blame you for forgetting some details. Sometimes things can get fuzzy! Glad you found the time to update today, and hope you and your family have a safe Halloween!

I can't wait to see Rapunzel Halloween pictures! I bet that is one cute outfit.

So glad you missed out on the snow and the power outages. I know there were areas up there that got hit - HARD!

I will stop back later to reread when I can see your pictures. It's no fun reading about your daughter when I can't see her. Her expressions are the best part!

You met such great characters! Wow, she probably LOVED it! How adorable. :goodvibes

This Minnie Mouse picture is my absolute favorite!

ry%3D400

It reminds me of this picture that was taken of me when I was your little girl's age.

Minnie just takes the best pictures with little girls :lovestruc So CUTE!!

That parade looked adorable!

I'm glad you went to Pepper Market too! It's really good there. And I'm glad you got the muffin you wanted! That's very important!

Happy Halloween! :wizard:

Those pictures of Minnie and your little one are spectacular. They are they best so far (and they have all been excellent). Really, really precious!

Love the pictures of your DD with Minnie. I just love how much she adores the characters! Such a brave girl.

Shut the front door!! (Yes, I also love me some Rachel Zoe) I also had a parallel experience in high school! We went to MGM and I remember being so bummed that they weren't filming. And my sister and I were just as obsessed.

Oh - and you would totally appreciate this story....when Bill Clinton was being inaugurated the first time, I went to the National Mall for the big festivities (I grew up in the northern VA/DC area) and some of the older kids from MMC were performing at the Kennedy Center later that night. Well, I was walking around checking out all the activities and ran smack dab into Kevin (I think that was his name). Like literally ran into him. I totally freaked internally and am pretty sure I came across as an inane, mute teenage girl. I just froze. I then proceeeded to stalk the area in hopes of finding Tony Lucca with my friend. Oh the memories!

Seriously, if we only managed to meet up one day we would have so much to talk about while our kids played.

We have GOT to get together somehow. We will need to coordinate a future trip around the same time. I can't believe you were as into MMC as me. And I would have freaked out too about running into one of them in person. What is so funny is that you were probably thinking, "Bill Clinton who?" :rotfl: Priorities, you know!

The pictures with Minnie are so cute. It's nice that she is in different outfits, so if you see her multiple time she doesn't always look the same. I really hope that Dylan will be excited to see characters like that on our next trip. She does really well about greeting them (even the ones she doesn't know very well!).

I know how it feels about your TR notes. I'm pretty sure that I didn't finish writing mine up and I think the end of my current TR that I am writing is going to be a little sketchy. It doesn't matter though! It is still fun to read and see all the pictures! You are doing a great job with your TR! :thumbsup2

Your DD is absolutely adorable with all of the characters! She really does look like she'd be thrilled to spend her entire trip to Disney meeting them all!

I really love your trip report!
My daughter is only three years older than yours, but seeing all of the character interactions makes me miss the younger days. She still loves characters, but it is extra cute when they are little and there is such joy on their faces! And they way they kind of fold into the characters is priceless. :lovestruc

Oh my goodness, the pictures of her with Minnie are adorable! They remind me of all my memories with her when I was that little! :goodvibes

Yeah it works! Not all Lotso's are evil! :)

I love all your character pics! They so cute!

Disney-Happy-Halloween-disney-8680852-547-388.gif

Yes, I definitely have to remember that for when she gets older and starts asking questions.

I am glad you like the character pics - because there are more to come. Hope you had a nice Halloween as well!

Happy Halloween to you too! Hope you guys had fun! And yes, we already had snow. Lucky for us, we only had a few inches at our house, but my best friend (the very same friend in the TR) got a foot and a half at her house  and they only live a few towns over. And are still without power, so we have been having some slumber parties at our house. I am definitely not ready for winter. Rapunzel got to experience trick or treating with snow on the ground. :sad2:

Yes, we definitely can spot the characters. And this TR doesn't even add in the characters that we saw that our little one passed up. There were even more characters that we encountered that our little girl was too shy to meet.

Hi and :welcome: aboard! Thanks for reading along! I am glad that you are enjoying it. It has helped me keep the "magic" alive. I am going to try to update a bit more frequently so I can wrap this TR up, but things have just been so busy lately! I hope you had a nice halloween too.

I have so many pictures on my camera that I still need to upload to the computer. I took a few last night, so I hope there is at least one good shot of her in her costume. It's pretty funny to see her with a little blonde extension.

We didn't miss out on the snow completely, we only got a few inches. My best friend got walloped with a foot and a half and they have been staying with us since they are still without power.

She does have the best facial expressions. ;)

she's so cute with her characters! I'm glad the day warmed up for you!

Aw, thanks! And by "warm" I think you mean it crept up into the low 60s with the sun shining.

You met such great characters! Wow, she probably LOVED it! How adorable. :goodvibes

Hi Jess! Happy Halloween to you! Yes, she totally loved all of the character interactions, especially Minnie Mouse. Your picture is super cute, too!

Yes, it is always very important to get the food items that you are craving while in Disney. ;) I know you know what I am talking about.

Those pictures of Minnie and your little one are spectacular. They are they best so far (and they have all been excellent). Really, really precious!

Yes, she was definitely excited to see Minnie Mouse. I think my favorite photos so far may be from the Jessie interaction, but everyday definitely had stellar character moments. Thanks so much!

Love the pictures of your DD with Minnie. I just love how much she adores the characters! Such a brave girl.

Aw, thanks! I still need to get caught up on your TR and see what your little man has been up to and what new phrases he has come up with. What was he for Halloween? She is definitely not as brave as him since he managed to brave some of the bigger kid rides.

We have GOT to get together somehow. We will need to coordinate a future trip around the same time. I can't believe you were as into MMC as me. Right? Parallel lives again. MMC? We totally need to coordinate some sort of meet. I will definitely let you know if I ever make it out to the West Coast. We still have a wedding in March that we are up in the air about - airfare is killer for us right now. And we may still be recovering from the holidays at that point in time. But I already told my husband that DIsneyland will have to be on the itinerary if we do make it out to LA again.

I hope Dylan will be as excited for the characters as well. Maybe one day we will make it to Disney around the same time as you. Of course by then, the kids will be older and too shy around each other and not want to play.

Yes, my TR is suffering a bit on the details. Especially on the days that I didn't take as many pictures. Oh well, trying!

Your DD is absolutely adorable with all of the characters! She really does look like she'd be thrilled to spend her entire trip to Disney meeting them all!

Aw, thanks! I could spend all day watching her interact with the characters. And living vicariously through her since she woudl often tell me that I couldn't be in the pictures, that it was just her.

I really love your trip report!

Aw, thanks! I am glad you are enjoying it. She is already growing up so fast and I know I am going to miss these days, so I am trying to cherish it all now. I just love that it is all so magical and real to her. She literally does just melt into the bigger characters. A true full body hug.

Oh my goodness, the pictures of her with Minnie are adorable! They remind me of all my memories with her when I was that little! :goodvibes

Hi Tink! I hope she will remember some of these trips like you do. I really woud love it if she grows up to develop a love of Disney.

How was Halloween with the Little Guy? Did he go trick or treating? Or just help with handing out candy again this year? I thought of you last night because she was totally more about handing out the candy at our house than she was about trick or treating.

I hope she does too. :goodvibes

It went good! Fiance and I took him trick or treating and we ran into one of his friends from school and daycare. He happens to have the same name as my Little Guy, so they always have fun saying their name to each other. Little Guy was The Wolverine!! We went around the block like usual, then he was ready to hand out candy. He loves handing out candy! This year, when he handed candy to each kid, he would say "And what are you?" and then as they were walking away, he would say "Happy Halloween!"

That's so cute she had fun handing out candy. Thanks for thinking of me!

Take your time! I can imagine you must be VERY busy with your little one and life in general! I'm patient, I promise. :)

Wolverine! Fun! Did you take any pics? You'll have to send them to me somehow, because I want to see. I totally of thought of you when my daughter kept asking to hand out candy. It reminded me of one of your little guy stories from a previous Halloween.

Thanks so much! I like it here. :goodvibes

Yes, the people on the TR threads are pretty nice. I enjoy my time here as well and spend way too much of it on this board.

ANd :thumbsup2 for a fellow Virginian.

Oh! I didn't know you were from Virginia, I guess I missed that somehow! Do you still live here?

Oh! I didn't know you were from Virginia, I guess I missed that somehow! Do you still live here?

I grew up in the Northernn Virginia area and my parents still live there. So I try to go back a couple of times a year. I miss it.

I am finally nearing the end of the TR. We are down to the last few days. Thanks to everyone who has stayed with me! I hope y'all had a great Halloween. I'll try to post a photo of my little Rapunzel once I upload the photos from my camera. It's been a busy week with various groups of friends staying at our house - all who lost power. I have a feeling it's going to be a long winter if this storm is any indication. Seriously, snow in October??

And side note - anyone else out there obsessed with Once Upon A Time? I am totally loving that show! Okay, back to the regularly scheduled TR....

We woke up Saturday morning bright and early. We were down to our last two full days at Disney and were determined to cram as much as we could into the weekend. We talked to our little girl and basically decided that we would hit up all of her favorite parts of the World over the two days. Our first stop this morning…..Animal Kingdom.

Yes, we were going to Animal Kingdom for like the 3rd time this trip, I think. And we still didn’t explore all of it over the course of our many visits. Traveling with a little one who is not a daredevil means that we tended to see many of the same sights. We didn’t mind too much, though. Touring AK is so much more doable when the weather is cooler and you aren’t dying from the heat.

ry%3D400

It was a little sunny out that morning. We were hoping that would lead to a slight warming up of the temperatures.

ry%3D400

We actually didn’t have too much in mind for our day at AK, we just had one objective – Conservation Station. Speaking of which, the whole time we there, I kept hearing the song Conjunction Junction in my head. Over and over again. I think it just sounded so similar to Conservation Station that it brought back more old school memories. Anyways, random side note there.

We took the cute little train ride up to Rafiki’s Planet Watch and headed up to the Conservation Station building. Our little one had a cricket that she wanted to see.

ry%3D400

Apparently they were having a moment.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

It was a little hard to pull her away from her new friend.

ry%3D400

Lucky for us, a little information session was underway on baby alligators. And what little kid can resist the opportunity to pet a baby alligator?

ry%3D400

Of course I had to go and feel the alligator for myself too. Because really, when am I ever going to be brave enough to pet a real alligator any other time? Then we headed over to say hello to another friend.

ry%3D400

Our little girl really wanted to show Pocahontas her little green alien toys. On our way into the park this morning, our little girl had decided on her toy for the trip. She wanted the bucket of little green aliens. We told her that she would have to wait until we went back to DHS, but lucky for her, Island Mercantile had a nice selection of Toy Story toys. So our little girl wanted to keep some of the little aliens with her at all times. Pocahontas was pretty amazed by them.

ry%3D400

I think she was asking our little girl if they had names and what they were. Her response? Green Alien. And Green Alien. Great names, right?

I think I like this Pocahontas more than the first Pocahontas we met. She looked a bit more like what I had expected.

ry%3D400

Making sure she gets her aliens back.

ry%3D400

And one huge hug good-bye!

ry%3D400

Rafiki and some other friends were also out and about, but they were a little scary to our little munchkin. They were one of the few character friends that she passed on. Then it was off to pet some animals.

ry%3D400

She totally enjoyed the petting zoo area of Rafiki’s Planet Watch. It’s not like she doesn’t get to visit baby goats and sheep at the farms near us at home. I am also very glad that they have Purell dispensers and hand washing stations on the way out of the petting zoo area. Not that I still didn’t make her use the “special soap” that I carry on me after she washed her hands. Just in case.

Once we had explored all that we needed to at the Conservation Station, we hopped on the little train back to the main part of the park. We were starting to get hungry. And there was one last thing I needed to do at Animal Kingdom. I wanted to get lunch at Flametree Barbecue. I had been wanting to try this place out, and was determined to make it this time around. Sorry, I don’t have any food pics from this lunch, but it was definitely yummy!

We even found a nice spot to sit and enjoy our lunch, There are so may pretty areas around there. And our little girl had her little green aliens and the blue rocket that came with it to keep her occupied while we dug into the massive meal. While we ate our lunch, we decided that we were pretty much all set with Animal Kingdom and would head over to Epcot. We had a dinner ADR there and wanted to do some more exploring of the World Showcase.

But first, some PP pictures! You can see that it warmed up a bit since our little girl’s coat is now off.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

And a surprise magic shot!

ry%3D400

She loved this shot when she saw it since she had her own little baby Simba to take home with her.

Then we were off to Epcot to explore the World Showcase. We wanted to have a lowkey afternoon just wandering around the countries and just soaking in the atmosphere. And by soaking in the atmosphere, I mean, just enjoy ourselves and act silly if we wanted to.

Apparently we started off in China…..

ry%3D400

The original plan was to have our little girl hop onto the elephant, but she nixed that idea. So I hopped on instead and she posed next to me.

ry%3D400

Sorry that this part of the TR is getting so disjointed, but I totally can’t remember all of the details. I do remember that I took a peek at the time and saw that Mulan would be out meeting people soon, so you know what that means…..

ry%3D400

Princesses and character friends always get hugs.

ry%3D400

They had a nice long conversation. I don’t recall what they were talking about, but I am sure it was fascinating.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I do know that she asked her if it was okay if she gave her a little kiss. Of course our munchkin was not going to say no!

ry%3D400

It was her second princess kiss mark of the trip.

ry%3D400

After this meeting, our little princess decided that she wanted to meet more princesses. So we had to consult the Times Guide to see who would be out and about.

Next: how may more princesses and characters will we end up meeting this afternoon? And a yummy dinner ADR.

First of all, a big "yes" on Once Upon a Time. Sunday nights all 4 of us have been sitting down and watching together and we're hooked :)

The pictures with Pocahontas are so cute! It looks like they had a fun meet.

You got some great photopass pics and I love the magic shot! :thumbsup2
