We're on a quest to see a mouse! But I want to stay at the kennel! UPDATE 10/24/13

Joining in!! Thanks for the message on FB!We will be at emh at MK Monday night. Do you think you will still be there then?? We are also doing the party on Dec 3. Dallas looks so grown up now!!Congrats on the new furbaby!

Thanks for the welcome Dana.

I made a boo-boo (I blame it on age); we are at the Christmas Party on the 3rd, not the 2nd (that would be tricky since we don't arrive until the 3rd!). :lmao::lmao:

LOL...Girl I would forget my name if everybody around here wasn't constantly---mama do this, Dana do that.....mama where is.....Dana what is for dinner.........:rotfl2:.

We are going to stay off site on the 1st since that is our drive down day. I didn't want to waste points. We are going to the party on the 5th We would do the 3rd, but that is when we have our CLP package scheduled.

:cool1: :dance3: Mary is here :cheer2::yay:. Welcome. :grouphug:. We will prolly still be there because we decided not to get park hopper tickets this time. I told the guys that we could do the party or park hoppers and we chose the party. Dallas is over 6' tall now and started puberty :rolleyes1. His voice is getting so deep.

We love our new furbaby. She is so sweet. When we got her she was so skinny and scared of everything. We think she was abused, but have no proof. I hate to think what would have happened to her if we had not taken her.

Did you ask for any specific area at SSR? We asked for Grandstand section. We will be in a one bedroom.

Well, an update on the car situation...........they never could find out what was making my battery drag so they just replaced it. Dale's car was an easy fix, sorta, we bought the headlight bulb and took it to a friend that has a shop. While we were waiting the guy that is replacing the bulb comes out and tells us that it is the wrong bulb :furious:. They sent their guy out to buy the right one, as we waited. After it was all said and done we ended up spending $45, but we did get the $16 back from Advanced Auto for the wrong bulb.

This is good news!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

I have to do a little bragging here. My daughter Amanda decided to go to Graduate School so she took the GRE last week. She made AWESOME scores and will start classes in the spring. I am so very proud of her :goodvibes.

Awesome!

Day Three----We will head to AK today for early EMH. I'm not a big fan of morning EMH, but they are OK at AK.

We will head to KS first thing since the animals are usually out when it is cool. Of course I will take a gazillion pictures of animals that I already a gazillion pictures of, and listen to Dale ask me why I am taking more pictures of the same things :rolleyes1. After the safari we will walk the trails and head to EE for Tyler and Dale. Dallas and I will keep on our way to Primeval Whirl.

Dale and Tyler will meet up with us and we will all ride Primeval Whirl together. We will then head to Dinosaur, which isn't Dallas' favorite, but I so love it. Now at this point in time we are done with AK :rolleyes1. Yeah, I know there is more to do, but shows are not in the cards with my guys.

Now will come the time that the conversation(i.e. complaints) turns to "We should have gotten park hoppers". So, I have a back up plan!! DTD. We can head over there and do some Christmas shopping . OR we can resort hop so we can take in all the Christmas Decorations.

Anywho......here is a picture of the sky on my way home from work Sunday evening

I thought it was beautiful so I snapped it.

These plans are all subject to change depending on how the mood strikes my crew...:rotfl2:.

Okay, Mrs. Night Owl sneaking in those late night updates. How you 'spect a girl to keep up with ya when you keep posting like that.? :rotfl: Nah, just kidding, I'm usually up that time of the night too just not on the computer.

Wow, your plans have ya'll coming and going to Animal Kingdom in no time. Do ya'll not walk any of the trails or anything? I love watching the gorillas and could take some of the gazillion pictures that you refer to.

Hi. as my title states I was drawn into your report by the title. I will be heading down to WDW in Feb and have been thinking about using the WDW kennel.

It sounds like you have had a good experience there and your dogs seem to enjoy it. I can understand about hating to leave them and not go in to see your dogs. That is my only downside into taking our trip - we will have to leave our dog, Max somewhere by himself. We got him from a Humane Society four years ago and we were his third family at age one. So, I hate to leave him someplace.

We have twice before at kennels here at home. I was just thinking if we have to drive down instead of fly perhaps we could kennel him in WDW so he would not be away from us as long. He is a great traveler in the car. He usually lays on my lap in the passenger seat or between the kids on the floor.

Which of the LaQuintas do you stay at for the first night? It is nice to know that they take pets - some hotels that take pets are great while others have a bad smell.

PS = sorry I hijacked the thread. I was just interested in your view of the kennel.

I have to steal the time when I can ;). If I don't take my sleeping pill, I don't sleep :sad2:.

We do some of the trails, but since my guys don't like shows we 'git er done' PDQ. If it isn't too hot we walk around a little more, but if it's a steamer, we hit and get.........:rotfl2:.

How did you sneak in an update without my knowledge? :confused3

I like your AK plans, but you are missing so much. :( Can't you just let the guys go off and you do the shows that you want? Your DTD or touring the resorts is a good back-up plan though.

Welcome .

We have only had one bad experience at the kennels and that was in 2009. They had kennels at several different locations at the time and we were staying at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. We used the kennel at FW and it was HORRIBLE. After the first night we took him out of that location and put him at the one at the TTC.

The new location is very nice!! They have a play room, outside play area with pools, TVs in some of the rooms, ice cream breaks, story time........etc. That is the reason for the title........lol.

You can go to their web site and look at all the stuff then have... http://www.bestfriendspetcare.com/ ...cause they have free breakfast every morning!

You've had a lot on your mind .

Sometimes I do stay in the parks and let them go back to the room. It is kinda silly, but when I'm in the parks alone, I feel like a teenager that has been left at home alone :rotfl:. My ADHD kicks into overdrive and I can't decide what I want to do, or which way to go :hyper:.

I tried to go in and add the following information to my original response, but for some reason it will not save. Anyway, we have stayed at two different LQs, the one on Universal Blvd and the one off International Dr on Jamaican Court. We like them both, but the one on Jamaican Ct is more like a suite with two beds and a fold out sofa. They also have a free breakfast every morning that is nice when you are heading to the parks.

Got up this morning to a hurricane watch :crazy2:   :headache:...............grrrrrrrrrrrr.
They are expecting Tropical Storm Karen to become a hurricane by tomorrow night. When I went to bed last night they said it wasn't going to be much more than a rain maker. Expected landfall somewhere along the Gulf Coast, Saturday-Sunday.

We ran to Winn-Dixie and picked up bread, water, chips, snack cakes, and other junk, you know, the essential storm foods :lmao:. The shelves were already starting to empty out. We then gassed up my car and the lines at the gas pumps were two and three deep. Yeah, it may only be a tropical storm when it makes landfall, but we're ready :lmao:.

I have to work this weekend so I may have to spend the night at the hospital Saturday night .

On a lighter note-------------these came in the mail today

AND it is Dale and my 26th Anniversary.

Now back to hurricane planning.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY DANA AND DALE! You were just babes when you married.

It's good that you went to the store and stocked up on the hurricane essentials before everything went nutso. Ya'll stay safe!
