We're late for a very important date May 2013 TR Updated 5/17 New TR started!

That's great that Gavin managed to stay asleep on that bus ride.

Too bad he woke up early before T-Rex, though.

I've heard that T-Rex can be very loud and distracting and I guess this confirms it. I think we'll hold off on that for a few years. Looks cool, though. And those desserts all sounds pretty tasty!

Rough bus ride home! I'm glad he went to bed easily, though.

poor Gavin! So sleepy. It really is hard to schedule a nap time with so much going on. It upset me when others keep glancing at me when my son melts down. I feel like I am disturbing them. But it isn't like you were ignoring your son and just letting him scream. Hopefully their looks were sympathetic! When some one else's child melts down around me, I always try to catch their eye and smile with sympathy so they know some one understands and isn't judging.

We did Rainforest when my son was 11 months. It was loud as well. Suddenly the monkey's will start calling out and the other animals growl and shriek at you. Pretty much like T-rex but different animals.

Ahhhhhh He did not like it. Then we went to T-Rex when he was 2.5 and DH had to hold him in his arms and cover his eyes and ears until the meteor shower was over. Yeah not a restaurant for a little one. DD liked it when she was 4.5 but was still hesitant. It was LOUD.

We went this past October again to T-Rex and DS was 4.5 and enjoyed it so much more. We were right against the aquarium. He really liked that but kept knocking on the glass. LOL :rotfl2:

Great job on the tr. Waiting for more.

I'm sorry y'all had a difficult time at T-Rex! It is a fun place, I bet Gavin will love it in a few years! I personally liked Rainforest Cafe better. They have 'storms' instead of meteor showers and they aren't nearly as noticeable as the meteor showers! (At least, I don't remember them being as bad!) Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Those first Mickey bar treats photo was great - your hubby looks like he is giving it a thumbs up and I loved the one of Gavin with the chocolate smear on his mouth. Cute. :)

That is a precious photo of Gavin asleep on your shoulder on the way to dinner on the bus.

I've never eaten at T-Rex but being similar to Rainforest Café I completely get that it is over-stimulating and not a great option for a sleepy and/or cranky baby. Sorry he was fussy on the bus - you gave a valiant effort to calm him. I always feel just as bad for the mommy in those situations. :goodvibes

T-Rex seems so fun in theory, but it is either too overstimulating for very little kids and probably too scary for ones a little older than that! I guess it's not too great until older school age, probably. Sorry Gavin had a rough meal. It's pretty frustrating when you know exactly what they need, but for whatever reason you can't give them that. As frustrating as Paxton could be at times on this trip, it was so nice to have him finally old enough and verbal enough to tell us what he wanted or what his problem was!

Sounds like the T-Rex experience was not quite satisfying!

Too bad about the bus issues from AK to SS to DTD. We had a very similar experience. We tried hopping from AK to Typhoon Lagoon via the Caribbean Beach resort, and same thing- we waited forever for a bus at the resort.

The tables at T-Rex ARE close together, so I can see how it would be awkward with a wheelchair and stroller.

My boys ordered the same drinks as you did! Cherry Limeade and Shark Water. I wish I had ordered a Shark Water. It was delish!

T-Rex is a must-do for Ben, but the boys were in their preteens/teens on all of our visits. I agree that it is not the best place for an infant or toddler due to all of the distractions and loud/scary noises.

We were seated right next to the aquarium on our last visit, which I loved! Haven't gotten there in my TR yet, though.

We haven't tried the chocolate extinction on any of our trips. Too full!

Aww, I'm so sorry you had a rough dinner at T-Rex!...I definitely feel for you there!!

It does look very cool inside, but it's good to know it's more appropriate for older kiddos!

Poor Gavin on the bus! That's just the worst when they're so tired and can't go to sleep and are just so inconsolable :-(

I'm glad he was able to get a good nights sleep though! :-)

ETA: Oh I forgot to say we've had the SAME thing happen with the busses trying to get from AK to DTD for an ADR!!!! In 2005 our driver dropped us at one stop in SS and said it'd be the best one to get to DTD and a bus would be there shortly, but we waited forever...It was like half hour to forty-five mins. And a HUGE, really scary storm moved through while we waited! It was terrible advice from that driver-I doubt it was, but that'd be crazy if it was the same driver! We weren't late for dinner, but it was close!

Just read through the whole TR so far! Somehow I totally missed you started this months ago. Sorry aboout that!! All subscribed now so hopefully won't miss anymore.

Gavin is adorable! This sounds a lot like our first trip with Aria - amazing how much has changed in such a short period of time (in the scheme of things anyway!).

Random but what stuck out was you being allowed to bring that stroller in after some difficulty into Garden Grill - we have never sucessfully gotten inside with the stroller, even if Aria was sleeping. Oh well! Glad you were able to, and SO glad the character interaction went SO well!! That's awesome. Loved him grabbing Mickey's nose. Classic photo!

So, you might be in the middle of an update but I'm posting anyway.

Welcome back to the boards.

I have always wanted to eat at the QS in Japan and never have (although I got a frozen Kirin from the stand outside) :rotfl2: Your meals look great and water a beautiful day. I appreciate the pictures now that we are in the thick of winter.

Hahahaha! I was going through my subscriptions the other day and noticed it had been a long time since your last update, that's why I asked! But hey, glad I could help!

Ahhhh, beautiful Flower and Garden! :) I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch in Japan! I've never really considered that place, but I might have to!

Yay, glad you're back! I was actually wondering the other day what had happened to you. That food in Japan looks good! It's the first I've heard about that place. Oh, and we have that bib, ha!

Glad to see an update!

Sounds like a pretty nice morning at EPCOT so far.

That's great that Brandan loved M:S so much. Did he prefer the orange or green version?

The topiaries are so incredible!

I'm glad you forced the boys to pose for a picture.

Lunch in Japan turned out well. It looks like there are some great selections there. I have gotten the grab and go sushi there, but never one of the meals. I love that pavilion! The gardens are peaceful and beautiful, the gift shop is really interesting and I love all of the food options.

Thank you! What is a frozen Kirin? It sounds fun whatever it is! I know what you mean, It's refreshing to see pictures of Orlando when it's been so cold here lately! It's in the 30-40s this weekend and it feels like summer :rotfl2:

Thanks for the reminder! I can't believe you missed F&G by days last year. You are going to love it this year, glad you are able to make it! Japan was great, I recommend it!

Time flies when you have a baby err- toddler keeping you busy! The food was really good. I only bought a 3 pack of them on amazon and now I wish I would've bought more. They are pretty much the only 3 bibs in our rotation now, nothing else has held up!

Glad to see an update!

He preferred the orange version but I'm glad he went on green with me. Maybe next trip I'll try orange!

I so love the F&G topiaries. I wish they were out all the time!

I loved the Japan pavilion and the CS location too, I'm glad I gave it a try!

Great pics! :)

Thank you!

Welcome back!!

Thanks!

Welcome back!!

I'm glad you ended up liking Brandan's choice for lunch. :thumbsup2 It's always nice when you are pleasantly surprised by a new place to eat or a new activity in WDW!

Pretty F&G pics. I love the one of Brandan & Daniel in WS. :rotfl: Guys just looooove having their picture taken together, don't they?

Wow, looks like I will have to check out the bakery on our next long trip. Everything looks delicious!
