We're Going to Disney World!!---TR started 4/29!

Sorry to hear you've not been feeling well. It sucks not having insurance but at least your dad helped out.

We plan to try all of the hard ticketed events once so I would do the P&PP if it were me. I understand about not wanting to spend the extra though.

Sorry about your necklace. That is pretty pathetic!

Yeah, I think the P&PP will be a go but I'm hearing now that it might be cancelled :confused3 And the 6 weeks for the necklace is crazy buuuuut I gotta get it fixed so there's nothing I can really do! I'll live though haha:laughing:

That stinks about Zales!!! Maybe you'll get it sooner!

Congrats on school!! That's wonderful!

Where did you hear that the P&PP would be cancelled? I was going to try and convince my aunt to take my cousins before we all arrive in Disney a few days later.

Thank youu!! :goodvibes

I heard it from another user here on the DIS. I hope it's not true but I haven't seen anything about it being cancelled on allears or the disney website so hopefully it's still on.

Morning Kristen!! Ok, I'm a little late with this, GO GIANTS!! Wooooo hooooo!!!!

Wanted to let you know, if you didn't see it already, that rumor has it the dining is going to open up more dates 12/1!!! I hope it's true!!!

Hey what'd you decide on P&P? You know you can get in right at 4pm right? So perfect to sleep in a little, go to a character brunch or lunch, and than head to the parks. OR go the a character breakfast, play Disney golf or mini-golf, then head to the parks. OR go to breakfast (character or otherwise), go swimming in your resort's AWESOME POOL, and then clean up and go to the park.

Except remember to hit up all the attractions that will be closed during P&P so you don't feel jipped, like Tom Sawyer Island, and JC. Otherwise, most other onces are open....

Wait... did you already discuss this and I missed it?

Are you on facebook?

I'm OCD this morning.

Probably because I'm on the mend from a 3 day migraine this morning and I'm just waking up out of a coma.

GOOD MORNING!

What day is it? I wish you lived closer!

I can't believe how many people have had migraines lately. I had a 5 day one last week and had to end up with a shot that knocked me out for 13 hours. Sorry you had one, too!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I dropped a note to you in my PTR about our camera. I just wanted to make sure you saw it. :goodvibes
I swear an update is on the way, all the pictures are on my computer I just need to get them on photobucket and then write...hang in there with me! :goodvibes
Yes, I heard the rumor, I hope its true!! That would be great for both of us!!
Bahahahahaha:rotfl: You just had me cracking up with that random burst of OCD lol I think we have decided on a yes for the P&PP but there's no date yet when the tickets will go on sale...which is actually good for us because it gives us more time to save money.
We did not have this discussion either and I am on facebook I don't go on it much though, only when my school email inbox overflows with notification emails :lmao:
I'm glad you're feeling better too!! I actually got a terrible migraine about 3 weeks ago...I know I'm going to get one because I get half vision, I'll look at your face and only see half of it, it's the weirdest thing. And it happened right in the middle of me trying to watch Aladdin!! :mad: They are the worst so I feel your pain, literally.
I wish I lived closer too, that would be great! :goodvibes
Migraines are the absolute worst and there's nothing that will shake them except for sleep. I haven't checked your PTR about the camera yet, I'm heading over there right now. :goodvibes
Sorry there has still been no update, it's been a really rough past couple of days. Tuesday night my Poppy had a massive stroke around 9:30 pm. According to the doctors there was so much damage to the brain that was already done and couldn't be reversed that he was never going to wake up again. He was being kept alive only on a ventilator while we waited for family to get here from out of state. On Thanksgiving, after discussing it with my family, my Grammy told us she was going to take him off the ventilator the following day. They removed him from it yesterday and about 5 minutes later he passed.:sad1:
I know most of you have faced losses such as this one throughout your lives. I'm 21 and this is the first family member I have ever lost. It's really hard and kind of hasn't even set in yet. We've been sitting around making the arrangements and it still doesn't feel real.
I can't say enough good about this man, my Poppy. He was thebest husband to my Grammy, the best father to 4 children, the best grandfather to 7 children and the best great grandfather to 5 children. As we all grew up, he was always there for us. He coached baseball for my dad and my uncle, watched every soccer game and dance competition for my brother and I. Then the older cousins had kids and Poppy was always there to watch my little second cousin Mikey play baseball or test for his next karate belt. Even if we just needed to talk, Pop could always be called on. I spoke to him last about 2 weeks prior to this all and he was fine, laughing and joking with everyone like he always did. This man was someone who you could NOT hate, even if you tried. Every one who came in contact with him loved him so much. I loved and will always love him so much. There really are no words to explain how great of a man he was. I'm so proud to say that he was MY Poppy and that I had the pleasure of having the world's greatest grandpa.
RIP Poppy 10/25/1927-11/28/2008
We love you and miss you already.
To my readers:
Please pray for my family at this trying time. I'll be back after this is all over with and have a more cheery update for you. Thanks in advance
I am so very sorry for your loss. I am sending prayers to you and your family as you struggle with this difficult time. May you find strength in eachother and remember all of the good times that you had with your Poppy.
I'm so sorry about your Poppy! It is always so hard to lose someone close! Hugs and prayers for you and your family! :hug:
Thank you both so very much :grouphug:
Oh Kristen! :grouphug:
I'm so sorry for your loss! I never knew my grandparents. They passed before I was born. My one surviving grandmother is in her late 80s and lives in the Phillipines and I'll never get to meet her before she goes.
You are so blessed to have had such a wonderful Poppy in your life and thank you for sharing this with us. I'll pray for you and your family as you struggle to get through this over the holidays and the days ahead.
It certainly sounds like he lived a life that was very much filled with love. :lovestruc
:hug: Oh Kristen! I'm so, so sorry for your lose. Your Poppy sounds like a wonderful man.
My Granny was a wonderful women. Much like your Poppy everyone who met her loved her. She was so loving and sweet. She loved her family more then anything. She died when I was in high school. Even to this day I miss her. I truly feel like she's my guardian angel and that she's still here for me when I need her. DD is named after her and I can only hope that she is as wonderful as her name sake.
Lots and lots of :hug:
Thank you :hug: I also lost my other grandfather, my mom's dad, before I was born. She was only 22 when he passed and I wasn't born until a year and a half later but I know that he's always looking down on me and loves me, just like Poppy.
That's sad about your grandmother in the Phillipines, do you talk to her at all, even though you've never met her?
Thank you again for your prayers. Poppy definitely had a life loaded with love and joy from all the people around him.
Thank you :hug: I'm sorry about your Granny. I feel the same way about my Poppy. I know that he'll always be watching over me and guiding me through life. If I can become half the woman that he was a man, then I know my life will have been a success.
As many of you know I lost my Poppy on Friday :sad1: There's only a few things out there that can really cheer me up and, luckily, DISing/Disney happens to be one of them :) So, I finallyyyyy have scanned some pictures from my previous trips to the World. Going through all the old photo albums looking for pictures of my Pop led me to picking out pics of Disney.
As shown in my siggie I've been to Disney 4 times previously, only once staying on-site in 2005. My parents own a timeshare so when we went with them when I was younger, we always stayed at the timeshare. My parents are actually in the process of planning a trip to Florida for their 25th wedding anniversary in June! However, they are staying off-site at a timeshare and will most likely only visit Epcot. My dad's not really a Disney kind of guy unfortunately :confused3 They will be getting some of the magic though and while they're down there I'll be back up here on LI living my normal boring life :rotfl: Anyway, to the pictures.
Attention:: One may want to hit up the bathroom and empty their bladders prior to looking at these pictures as the stylistic choices may cause uncontrollable laughter. Thank you.
We'll start with the earliest Disney memory. That would be my third birthday in August 1990. My mom had a Mickey character come to my house for my party. Great idea right? Wrong. I was petrified of the character and my mom or other family member had to hold me anytime he came around. :laughing: Here I am in my Minnie bathing suit with my mom::
Next we'll go to my first trip down to Disney in October 1994. I was 7 and even though my brother looks like he's probably only about 3, he was going to be 5 in less than a month. Here's me with Chip/Dale, not sure which one::
Kevin and I in DTD in front of the Empress Lilly where we had a character breakfast. Empress Lilly, I believe, is now Fulton's.
Here we are with Mickey at the character breakfast::
We also went to SeaWorld and climbed on some dolphins::
The next picture is my 5th birthday cake with Belle and the Beast on it::
disney001.jpg
Here's my cake from my 8th birthday with Pocohantas on it::
Next up we have the second trip we went on in October 1998. I was 11 and Kevin was almost 9. This trip we took with my Grammy and Poppy. A very good picture of us, including Poppy, is on one of the picture boards my cousins, brother and I made so when I get it back I will post it. The first picture is Kevin and I during a character interaction at AK. Let me just say that the shirt I'm wearing here was my very first spaghetti strap tank top and it was from Delias. I wore it every chance I got and really thought I was hot stuff in it :lmao: My dad is the man with the dark hair over on the right::
disney002.jpg
Kevin and I front of the Rainforest Cafe sign in DTD, gotta love those overalls I'm wearing::
disney004.jpg
Then we have Kevin and I on an 18 wheeler truck inside of Universal Studios::
disney003.jpg
Here we are waiting on line for the teacups at MK (apparently my mom took most of the pictures as she's not in any!)::
disney005.jpg
Our third family trip came in October 2001. We actually went about a month after 9/11...and yes we flew. I was 14 and Kevin was almost 12. Yes, he looks approximately 9, I know. I couldn't find any good pictures of us actually in the parks :confused3 Here's a couple that are taken at our timeshare. It was called the Polynesian Isles. My dad, brother and I outside of our condo::
disney011.jpg
Here we are playing mini-golf at the timeshare. I was so skinny and it makes me soooo sad to see this picture now being that I'm like 30 lbs heavier (and 3 inches taller) :sad2:::
disney012.jpg
Lastly I have only one picture from my trip in July of 2005. All the others came out terrible as I had used a disposable camera and they're all so dark. Or they included a person who I now consider to be the scum of the Earth...either or. Anyway, here I am trying on a Beast hat. I believe I'm in MK::
Ok, hopefully I didn't bore anyone to tears with those pictures...I think some of them are pretty cute :cutie: :laughing: Thanks for being patient with me not updating for so long! Have a great week everyone :goodvibes
Awwww those pictures are soooo cute!!!! I actually looked at my moms this past weekend for pics from when she took me and my sisters in 1987 (my dad isn't a disney person either) and I could only find 2!!
Thanks!! Thats a shame that you could only find 2 pics! I wish I could have found more but apparently my mom didn't take as many pictures as I will when I go in April! :laughing:
