Okay! Here we goooooooooo!!!!!

There's a reason I titled this portion "You can fly!"

We booked our flights with US Airways out of Charlotte-Douglas Airport. That's about 1 1/2 hour from Asheville. The rate was fairly cheap and it came out to be about $118 each with taxes and fees. Round trip! Our flight was scheduled at 1130am so we were up and ready to go at around 7am.

I took pics of the girls before we left.....it was so sad leaving them again....

This is Gabbie, our oldest. She is 17 now. She's still doing good and there's sometimes when she acts like she's puppy and not a lazy ol' dog lying around all day. Right about the time we landed in Orlando, our house sitter called and said that Gabbie decided to "fly" off of our top floor balcony at home! When I heard this, it sent me in orbit! All is well with Gabbie! She is not hurt and she's doing fine! Our house sitter said she heard a little "yelp" and looked down saw her on the ground. Gabbie just got up, shook herself like she does after a bath and just moved on! I guess it was not her time yet.....

Drucilla, our other "daughter" was at the scene as well waggin' her tail looking down from the railing.

I checked in for our flight online. It was simple with US Airways. Warning! US Airways now charges $40 for 2 checked bags under 50lbs. You have the option off paying online ahead of time for the regular $30 for 2 bags. Cheap airfare, more increase of "fees."

We were on the road about 730am heading to Charlotte for our flight. We did stop on the way for McD's for breakfast. I refused to take pics of our breakfast from there. It was gloomy and gray leaving Asheville and cold, high 50's.

Securtiy lines were not bad at all. We parked in a remote parking lot which charges $4 per day and there was a constant shuttle to the main terminal from the remote parking.

We were on the plane ready to go in no time. The flight was over booked by 7passengers and we were offered a $250 flight voucher, each if we would give up our seats. Without speaking, Jon and I looked at one another and said, "No thanks!" The next flight out was going to be at 3pm. We were ready to go. I would have gone to the mall and killed some time, but we were both ready to get to WDW!

The sun was trying to peak out and the clouds were lifting away....I was hoping for a smooth flight and it was.

DSCN2831.jpg

We landed in Orlando safely. The flight ended up being 15 minutes early....total time in air was 1 hour and 15 minutes! Better than 10 hours of driving on the interstate.

DME was NUTS! So many people. I did not take any pics of the lines and crowds but anyone could tell that Free Dining was taking place. There were folks everywhere!!!! So many lost famlies not knowing what to do or where to go, so many folks not listening to CM for directions. The greeter at the DME station was kind and asked us if we used our "yellow tags" and we said yes and she looked at our vouchers and told us to get in line #4 for the bus. No one was in line #4. The lines were packed for All Stars, Pop, Poly, AKL and WL. We waited in line for the bus about 20 minutes. There were about 20 folks for our resort area.

The order of drop offs were....

Port Orleans-Riverside
BW
Swan
Dolphin
Yacht and Beach Club

Jon and I were the only ones left on the bus after the drop off at PO-Riverside.

Checked in was very quick and we were welcomed home by Mandy. Very sweet girl from Johnson and Whales. We talked about being a pastry chef and baking....

She placed us in room....

which is the main floor just down the hall from the Front Desk. I was happy with the location. It was a different type of studio from the normal. Since it was just around the corner and the 1st room in the hallway, it had a huge deck and seemed to be a bit bigger than normal studio.

So, let's take a look to see what's behind the "green door."

DSCN2837.jpg

Sorry that some of these are blurry. Jon noticed later on in the day I had the setting on the camera wrong.

Before I go further, BWV is going under a huge refurbishment. Nearly half of the resort was having some kind of work done. Lot's of painting, new carpet, outside work, roofing work....

DSCN2844.jpg

We ended up getting a old room. It was fine! You could tell it was a little dated and worn. We loved the location and we were fine! I love the bed spread made by Grandmother Walton.

The deck was HUGE! I hate the small balcony you usually get at Disney Resorts.

Here is the view.

DSCN2848.jpg

Not really all that great, but wonderful if like to people watch. Again, we were right around the corner from the FD and Lobby area.

DSCN2842.jpg

We had a daybed plus a sofa pull out.

Here's the mini-kitchen....

DSCN2878.jpg

Lot's of work going on here. Notice the scaffolding on the main part of the buidling. (I hope I spelled that right). I heard different answers from CM when the project was going to be completed. Some said January, some said in the Springtime. It did not bother us, until later and you will hear about it.

Rain Clouds were rolling in! It was time for the afternoon Orlando Rain to come through so we hopped on a empty bus to DTD for a early dinner.

DSCN2849.jpg

Right when we boarded the bus, it started to rain. We were fine and excited because we were going to our most favorite places to eat.

The Marketplace drop off location was closed for some reason so we had to hike to WPE in the hot, steamy, weather. The rain just let up so it was nice and muggy. UGH! Such a change from the Asheville fall season like temps that we were just use to.

Heaven on Earth!

It was finally din din time!

Jon had the the Spaghetti and meatballs. It came with a green salad and bread. All delicious!

DSCN2861.jpg

DSCN2864.jpg

I had the BBQ Chicken Flatbread. It was sort of like a pizza crust type bread and it was presented like this...

DSCN2866.jpg

It came with homemade chips and a small green salad. OUTSTANDING!

And of course, we had our dessert....

DSCN2867.jpg

Wonderful!

Nothing was said during dinner except for "MMMM...good....dang this is good, MMMMMM..." We were starved!

After dinner, we began the shopping adventure....

So we visited....

DSCN2869.jpg

The Christmas decorations were very nice and it keep on reminding me of what was taking place at my job. Everyone is getting ready for Christmas! The shop was packed and everyone was buying for the 09 season.

Then, it was time to prepare to go bankrupt....

DSCN2873.jpg

The Halloween Pins were out! Jon loves Halloween and mixing that up with his pin addiction...not good! I just stood back and watched his enjoyment.

Personally, I prefer a pretzel rod from....

DSCN2872.jpg

The line was long for the pretzel rods and we had 7 days ahead of us, so I refrained for now.

I purchased a new line of Haunted Mansion Pins for Jon for Christmas (I went ahead and gave them to him.....they were limited edtions!)

DSCN2877.jpg

We mostly stayed around the market place and visited those shops...

We went to the Make Your Own tee shirt place.....
DSCN2870.jpg

And I bought a book for Jon in the Art of Disney Store....

DSCN2871.jpg

He ended up exchanging it for the Haunted Mansion book. For some reason, I thought he would enjoy the Imagineer Book, but I was happy he got what he wanted....(I hear a Wilma and Betty laugh in the background! )

We headed back to the Pleasure Island Bus Stop and went back to BW. We were hoping to have our luggage delivered from DME by now and I needed some allergy medicine. (I hear some "oh no's!" in the background now...) Don't worry, Jon has new place for the good stuff now!

Up next, "Where's my bag????"

Lovin it Jeff! Also glad that I'm not the ONLY one who buys stuff that gets exchanged. Our hearts are in the right place!;)

Glad to hear that Gabbie is doing fine. The one thing I hate about traveling is leaving my 2 dogs behind.
Sleeping_dogs002-1.jpg
My last trip Labor Day weekend, I got a call on day 3 of a 5 day trip from where they were being boarded saying that Dottie Sue hadn't stood in over 24 hours and that someone needed to come pick her up. She turned 15 back in March and has had hip issues for some time now. My vet ended up keeping her at her house the last 2 days and she ended up being fine but I couldn't wait to get home to see about her. I leave for Boston for a 3 day trip this weekend; I think she'll stay home this trip and have friends check on her. I'll board Waldo again; he loves playing with other big dogs at the cage free boarding facility that I use.

I say Gabbie was pushed!:eek:::yes::

Drucilla!
