Hey everyone! Ok, so I've been slacking on posting my trip report, but I SWEAR I have a good reason. And that good reason is that I am a Disney addict. And as an addict, I was in PDD (Post Disney Depression) upon my return on the 23rd of September. And the best thing for my PDD is planning another trip, even one I know may not happen. So after hammering out the details of our BB trip next year, and planning an entire trip for my Aunt, Uncle and their 4 girls, I did something that no addict ever should....
....I priced out a random trip.
It started out as a joke, a "let's just get some prices" sort of thing. But in all honesty, I was jonesing for some of the good stuff. You know, that feeling you get when you see the castle. And I wanted that feeling ASAP. So I started looking on the Disney website. And discovered there are really cheap rates on at the values. Wow, really cheap. Like, $49 a night. But I'm sure flights will be pricey at the last minute. Oh, wait, I got a killer deal at 139 round trip, taxes included. So, I booked. I'm going AGAIN. And FYI, this "little trip" to tide me over, its six nights and seven days.
Say it with me people, "My name is _____, and I am a Disney Addict".
So, in a nutshell, I'm going back. And I'm completing the party trifecta this year, since I was at the P&PP in May, the Halloween Party in September and now will be at MVMCP (for the first time!!!) in a few short weeks.
Sorry for the interruption, I have digressed away from the original plan. My very first TR!!! Here we go.
Oh, brief intro to the cast.
Me, call me Alice. As you've noticed, I love Disney. I'm currently off work with a pretty serious injury to my spine and am awaiting an appointment with a neurosurgeon for potential spinal surgery. We're keeping our fingers crossed that isn't necessary. I only mention this, because sadly it came into play on the trip. Sigh.
DF(does that stand for Disney Friend?) Call her Mal. She loves Disney, and is currently working on completing her Masters major paper. We met when we both worked at a movie theatre, and have been friends for about 7 or so years.
Now that you know who's on the trip, let's get to it.
Day 1 - September 12th
The Plan: Wake up at an ungodly hour, catch a plane, land and book it to check in at the POLY!!!!!!!!!
The Reality: I'm sure this happens to everyone, but I just CANNOT sleep before Disney. Fortunatly, my anti-inflammatories that I'm one because of my injuries from the car accident earlier this year make me crash, so I woke from a drug induced sleep and bounded from my bed. I immediately called Mal, who was still asleep (we'll get to why in just a sec). I got dressed, ate some toast and bounced around the house like Tigger. Then I compulsively checked my checklist (yes, I'm that person). FINALLY, Mal arrives, we hop in the truck and head off to get come caffeine in me. Mal tells me how both her cats escaped the night before, and how she was out looking for them for hours and didn't get to sleep until 3:30. To put that into perspective, we hit the Starbucks drive thru at 5 am. ICKY! Not to mention, we don't sleep on planes, and we had a MNSSHP that night. I knew she'd get a Disney high when we arrived and all would be well.
So, we cross the boarder to Detroit no problem at all, and before I know it, we're checking in on our Spirit flight. I have to say, I really dislike flying Spirit, but they are so wicked cheap, I just suck it up. After choosing out two seats on the plane together (I refuse to pay for that, I don't need to sit with Mal, I just prefer to. But not for 10 bucks. That's money that can be placed in the hands of the Mouse, as far as I'm concerned) we went through Security in record time, and sat down to wait for our plane.
Here's some pics of us waiting to board!

The first of many attempts to photograph outselves....we are not masters of the self-portrait.
Nothing eventful happened on the plane, except when the stewardess laughed, actually laughed out loud, when I asked for a blanket. Ah, Spirit, you have such excellent customer service. Soon, we were landing in wonderful MCO, and Mal and I were breaking the world record for "Fastest Plane Disembarking and Arrival at ME Check-in". Honestly, we were off the plane, on the fake monorail and I was checking us in at the ME Counter in less than 15 minutes. I'd say an honest time prediction is 12 minutes, but only because we had to wait for the fake monorail. Once through that line, we hopped into the greatest ME line ever. The one for the GF and the Poly. AWESOME!! A few minutes later, we were boarded onto a crappy yellow Mears bus, and told we were stopping at about every Disney Deluxe resort before ours. And no video. Omg, would this be an omen for the rest of the trip?!?!
